  1. im not sure about the adding chemicals bit,i heard they just do it on the inside of the bootle rim to keep the germs out before they cap it.

i recon that its just that the alcohol strength varies on each bottle of chang.

    a bit of a lottery.

how pissed am i going to get tonight,on the old chang.

i must admit, the following morning, after a few bottles of the stuff, you get the famous chang mouth.

feel like i want to wipe my tongue on the bed sheets.

  2. i noticed that spiders here in thailand seem to be a lot quicker than in europe & some seem to be able to jump.

    why is this?

i know,i need to get out more.

i was surprised to see a spider which was the size & shape of a tarantula in the road a couple of months back,i gently poked it with a stick & it reared on its back legs & actually hissed.

very impressed,i was a bit gutted when it got run over as i sat in the bar.

  3. beauty aside,in se asia i dont think you can beat the burmese women.they seem to show a bit more emotion than the thai women & are more readable,& open,in my experience.

less sweet & sour shall we say.

but if looking for sexy & a little mysterious,i'd go for the thai ladies. :o

  4. i had a thai freind (lady, not bargirl) who used to call me ting tong alot,& it was all good humoured.

she told me it means cute/crazy.i think it can be a compliment,as we all know the thais dont like to take things too seriously.

whats the other saying that sonds like som nat naa ,which is sort of a version of serves you right, which isnt supposed to be said to strangers, but amongst my thai freinds its said playfully all the time.

either that or i need to find some new freinds :o

  5. in my experience of se asia i thought the vietnam women were very easy on the eye, longer limbed than the usual.they didnt seem to smile alot though. :o looked like they wanted to stab me.

also the australian/italian women in oz were very nice.

  6. the problem with carrying a knife is that if you push the right buttons with the knife carrier, then a fair percentage are able to use it on somebody in the heat of the moment, especially if you throw alcohol into the equation.

also if you dont speak thai very fluently its possible that you dont pick up bad vibes until it boils over.

  7. not sure i'd be particularly overjoyed if italy won it.have you seen how many draws they had leading up to the world cup?

i'd go for the team thats had the least luck, getting where it is.not sure thats easy to judge though on this world cup.

  8. yes, spend some time in a border town in thailand & you realise that most burmese in thailand have no rights at all,& little chance of progessing from where they are.what lucky buggers us farung are.maybe the burmese have never been forgiven over ayuttaya.

  9. yes i think its pronounced half way between an r & an l.a rolling of the tongue is what is necessary i think.

i was told by a thai lady that the word farung (or falung) comes from when all the french started to come over here many years ago,& as the thais couldnt get lips around :D france,it ended up farung.

so basically we are all labelled as froggies. :o

  10. i think if i had a serious drink problem i would not want to be around my family, because i'd be worrying about them worrying about me.also i'd consider whether the freinds i hung around with were actually the right sort of people to be around with this sort of problem,eg are they givers or takers,at heart, are they good timers, possibly selfish? etc,& i'd consider a change of scenery to get away from anything that reminds me of past drinking sessions or good times,on the beer, the bar scene.

walking past one of the many bars in bangkok, must be painful for an alcoholic.

maybe exercise is a good thing to produce a natural high substitute.

i'm probably the sort who doesnt need people around me though,so its horses for courses,& also i am not actually experiencing the problem.(at the moment) :o

  11. whichever team has the most beautiful girlfreinds, wins. :D

a beauty contest after the 90 minutes.no talking,or showing of intelligence is required by the participants,so posh spice may be ok.

also points are awarded for which girlfreinds spend the most money shopping for designer clothes.

a bikini session is probably a good way to go. :o

  12. theres a place in bangkok called, no one restaurant (no 1,was i think the intention).

maybe some naughty p!ssed up farung ,had a hand in it.

    ###### good,cheap food though,known them for awile.(that makes up for taking the p!ss) :o

  13. i havent seen stickmans site, but i tend to look & treat people as individuals who have had different experiences & upbringing than i,rather than look at people as thais or as thailand as a whole when i meet them.

the problem,i think with listening to other peoples opinions (including mine) is that they get mixed up with their ,bad experiences, predjudices, etc, which means you can get a distorted veiw of a country,or people,

but if hes just taking the p!ss out of thailand then fair play to him. :o

  14. fair play to beckham.i think he is standing down for the england team as much as anything.i think the tears said that.

it will be good to see somebody who is a bit more naturally vocal ,captain england.a shouter maybe.

it will be great to see beckham have the freedom to be just a player again, who can replace him as far as crosses & free kicks? he loves the big games aswell.

  15. to be honest, when i saw lampard walking up to take a penalty i feared the worse.he hasnt exactly had his shooting boots on in this world cup.you had to feel for them after though.

  16. i think this violent mad max thailand that people are talking about is a bit of a laugh.

drunken assaults in the uk are a common occurence on a friday or saturday night.

if you respect people in thailand & live by there rules, generally the thai men will leave you alone.

in all the time ive spent in thailand i have yet to have a thai male try to provoke me.

some of the women,on the other hand, can be a bit tricky. :o

  17. yes,i think you have to do some research, but i heard that giving up an alcohol addiction abruptly without any medication can be fatal, whereas knocking a drug addiction on the head is not so serious.

ive never drunk enough to be considered an alcoholic,so i dont really know what its like to go through it,but i would think that the first step in giving up,is being honest with yourself with why you drink (mentally),which isnt as easy as it sounds.
