I just renewed my 5 year license and only residence document required was the certificate of residence that I got at immigration, spent an hour at immigration, not bad.

tramadol is not an over counter medicine in thailand
Tramadol is indeed available OTC in Thailand. In the form of ULTRACET, 37.5 mg tramadol HCL and 325 mg paracetamol. You may have to sign a non-abuse statement and not all pharmacies carry it, but it is available OTC.

Here's the one I buy from Lazada: Doctor's Best, Vitamin D3, 125 mcg (5000 IU) x 180 Softgels | Lazada.co.th
Many many other choices available.

Personally, I prefer to sleep in a cold room, so AC on and set low temp. Since the AC is essentially a dehumidifier, the air is dry, hence the noted reactions. Fortunately, the dry air doesn't bother me. I'd bet for those affected by the dry air, sleeping with a vaporizer next to you could solve the problem. Just a thought.

What advantages are there in having foreign marriage REGISTERED in Thailand? I have been here 30 years and started off getting yearly MARRIAGE visa before switching to RETIREMENT and never had to get it registered or even translated, original English copy was OK.
The reasons would be in regards to Thai laws related to marriage. Not necessarily about extensions.
I've asked this very question here before and would love at least one example of an advantage to registering your marriage in Thailand. I, like Livram, have been married over 25 years and we have never registered our marriage in Thailand and have never encountered any problems from not doing so. Thanks in advance for your input.

FWIW, my car has been rear ended by a motorcycle whose driver was texting while driving, and I was broadsided by a motorcycle that was passing a line of traffic and he failed to see my turn signal and my right hand turn and he slammed right into the side of my car. That's not to mention a slew of near misses at other times. Motorcycles do add to the excitement of driving here!

Tried to register for an account as I have an IBAN account in Germany. It's asking me to provide a German phone number which I no longer have. This same requirement applies to PayPal which I was hoping to link to my German bank account and credit cards. Is there a way to bypass this requirement?
I don't know if this works universally, but what I do is I have a skype telephone number which is for my home city in the USA, and I have that telephone number set up to forward all calls to my Thai phone. So, anybody calling or texting my local (skype) phone number reaches me here in Thailand and they have no idea where I actually am. Works great, hope it can work for you outside of the US. Skype number is quite cheap, around $56 a year.

I'm asking about Thailand's tourist e-Visa application from USA. Not USA ESTA.
Sorry, it was unclear.

This law is far too long in coming. No matter the cost of the seat, it certainly is less than the value of your child. What's absolutely a shame about it, is it will be the same as all other traffic laws... there will be NO enforcement!

Take a look at USA ESTA | eVisa Application Form Online , there's a lot of answers there including how long it takes. Sorry, that's as far as my first hand knowledge goes.

FWIW, I'm elated that this is finally done and functioning!

If you want a Marriage Visa/extension then to the best of my Knowledge you need to register your marriage at your local Amphur to get the KOR 2. Benefits are less income needed/money in the bank you can spend.
Thanks for your input. So, other than the marriage visa issue (which I don't need or want), there's no other plusses or minuses to registering the marriage?

A quick question about marriage registration. My Thai wife and I have been married over 25 years. Married in the UAE and duly registered there. Also registered in the USA via her green card process. However, we've been living in Thailand for the last 22 years and we have never done anything to register our marriage here. Question is, do we need to register our marriage here and what benefits are gained by doing so? Appreciate your input.

I'm curious as to what services are available at Lak Si. For instance can you get a certificate of residence there? Thanks in advance for your input.
Only short term extensions for visa exempt entries are done at Laksi.
The counters for 90 day reports, TM30 reports and certificates of residency moved to Chaeng Wattana.

I know that specific items that I have insured require photographs, official appraisals, receipts, etc., in order to get them insured. Something tells me that didn't happen. Also, as some others noted, jewelry and electronics don't vaporize in fire. If she was properly insured she'll get her just due, just as she will if she wasn't. But, TIT, someone could decide poor her and subsidize her loss with taxpayers money...

I'm a self-confessed dinosaur. How do you take a screen shot with your phone of something that is on your phone?
Often the screenshot button is on the power down/off screen. Samsung and sony. Seems all brands vary a bit. My Samsung all I have to do is verbally ask it to take a screenshot. Hope this helps.

FWIW... not withstanding the old 700 Baht exit fee, which disappeared when it became permanently charged to your ticket fees, they now claim this 300 Baht fee is for tourist insurance. Hmmmm, then what is this mandatory health insurance tourists are forced to purchase before coming to Thailand? I know, a total repeat but had to say it.

I've also eaten alligator in the U.S., in Texas and Louisiana. Tasted fine, probably comparable to chicken, although a bit chewier. Certainly have no objection to it nor do I find anything disgusting about it. It's a fine addition to the diet but certainly wouldn't replace pork with it.

Sticking to the topic, for me, it would have to be something extremely urgent, life or death in nature, for me to leave at this time. Too many uncertainties.

Please don't take this as Thai bashing because that isn't the intention... But my laugh came from reading about the new digital nomad visa Thailand is considering. One of the reasons given for why it is such a good idea is Thailand's "Blazing Fast" Internet speeds! This absolutely prompted an audible belly laugh from me!
Bangkok to Step Up Fire Prevention Measures at All Buildings

Simply regarding fire safety in general, my office building, some 31 floors, has had all but one ground floor doors mechanically blocked and closed for well over a year. One door for ingress and one door for egress. Not sure how a building could ever be cleared in the event of a fire through one door. I'm quite confident this was not only my building doing this. Just saying......
