I changed phone recently and I successful logged in using my own user ID, not the ATM generated number and i never needed to visit the ATM or branch to get set up on the new phone
Was this an original 10 digit code or had you changed it to something easier for you to remember?

Delete any incomplete applications that the system has saved if there are any.

Yes exactly. How do you do it?
I pressed the "Quote" button in your post, then positioned the cursor in that quote box at the start of the text and pressed return to generate an empty line. Put the cursor in that empty line and pressed the "Quote" button in chickenslegs post.
I'm not sure if creating the empty line is needed but that's what I did (if it makes sense).
Just tried it and it sounds even easier.
Edit. Should have included Mutt Daeng's post as that's what I was replying to.

I think the easiest way is to use the multi quote button (+ sign) on each of the posts you want to include in your reply. Then your reply will include those posts.
Thanks but they are still separate and if on different pages I seem to have issues. I have seen one poster in particular who regularly uses nested quotes so I know it should be possible......
Like this?

if you have access to their web-based internet banking (iBanking) it's the same username and password
Not quite (as I understand it).
The user ID is the original 10 digit user ID issued. If you have changed that to something more memorable on the iBanking site you need that 10 digit number, not your replacement.
This can be found by changing the PIN at an ATM which will generate an SMS containing that original 10 digit ID.

Most foreigners are not taxpayers and it's not clear if the new law will affect them, despite the amount of discussion going on about it.

Although it seems to have settled down and yesterday and today has seen service as before, I've been continuing to discuss this with DTAC. I think what they've said is I've used 100GB of data this month so far and 141GB last month. Does tha sound correct given my description of usage, and is it at a level where suppliers could be expected to restrict the service?

Has Barclays actually said WHY they are doing this?
TLDR version. " . . . .because of increasing required, expensive and onerous compliance measures they need to take."

"The help feature indicates it might stick if you log in with a card reader instead of the OTP as I was doing."
What do you mean might stick?
Did you manage to get the OTP sent to your Thai mobile?
By stick I meant the Thai number I entered would be saved and used for OTPs. I could see it was saved but it kept using my overseas number for the OTPs even though it wasn't in my profile any longer.
I couldn't finalise things as I don't have a card reader and it indicated that you had to log in with the card reader to make a change that will cause OTPs to go to a different number.
QuoteMy number is +660812345678 did you omit the zero before entering the number as +66812345678
Yes.

Head to the NT office on Klang to avail yourself of the SIM and for help filling out the form.
I have coverage so I'll go along there tomorrow and pick one up.

If it falls through, I too would be interested as I'm looking to set up a similar system in the UK.

Check to see if you have access to Band 40 at your location
How do I do that? I can see who has the 2300 MHz capability which is Band 40 I think, but can't see where it's available. I'm in central Pattaya so would it be true to say there's a good chance it's covered?

I've just been and played about with my profile online and it appears to accept overseas numbers, even giving guidance on how to enter with the country code etc. However, even removing my UK mobile number altogether, it still used it to send the OTP to, so it must be kept in the background somehow.
Edit. The help feature indicates it might stick if you log in with a card reader instead of the OTP as I was doing. I don't have one here to try.
Edit 2. While I was playing around I noticed the +66 in the Thailand number sometimes got corrupted to 6666, so a card reader is essential if you're going to play about with it so you don't get locked out completely.

For your (minimal) requirements, I don't understand why you are thinking of buying anything!
Already bought. I also need internet access when away from home for the security camera which I wouldn't have if my phone was with me.
9 minutes ago, CanadaSam said:You say you have good speed on your mobile sim from AIS, so why not just upgrade your package to unlimited at an acceptable speed, and use HotSpot on your mobile for your TV and Laptop also?
As above, for when I'm not at home and I have also read it's not good for the phone's longevity to be used constantly as a hotspot.

Coming back to this around 3 months later and it's been running fine as discussed - until recently.
Background for those that don't want to reread the thread. I have a dtac SIM on an annual deal for Internet at 15Mbps running on a SIM router and accessed by one phone (sometimes 2), one Firestick for TV and one laptop (light browsing only). Plus one security camera on occasion when I'm away.
Maybe 3 or 4 days during the last week it's been painfully slow. I've shrugged it off and lived with it until it perks up again, but yesterday was extremely bad so I contacted dtac. Their reply this morning was :
"Since we detected unusual data usage which affected internet efficiency of other users in the same area i.e. high data transfer, Bit Torrent, or Internet tethering/hotspot for commercial purposes, we reserve the right to allocate data speed and usage on order to maintain Internet efficiency for other users"
I've asked them to restore full speed and mentioned it's my personal use only and awaiting a response, but has anyone else come across anything similar and how have you addressed it?
I have accessed the router interface and there are no other users so not been hijacked.

Hi is there any UK bank or building society that will allow you to use a Thai phone number for a banking app to send pass codes
TSB. My account has options for home, work and mobile numbers. I have work as my Thai mobile number and can select any of the three to receive pass codes.

Can't find any address on the app to change, pretty sure I just signed up with phone number and email address.
To see mine I select my profile (top left of home page) and then a green background details button at the top right of the next screen.

I plan to do a proper visa later in Laos . . . . .
You may be able to delay that even more. Phuket immigration have published new rules allowing them to give further extensions to Israeli passport holders on production of some sort of letter from their embasssy. This may be introduced everywhere if you're not going to Phuket so keep an eye on things.

Israel is on the list of Visa Exempt countries, not Visa on Arrival so you'll get 30 days and should be able to show an onward ticket within that period.

Whether visa exempt or visa on arrival an onward ticket is required, although it's unlikely to be checked at BKK immigration but more likely by your airline when checking in at your point of origin. No onward ticket would mean you'd be refused boarding.

PS - are you sure data is switched off 100% for that sim?
I would suspect some sort of data "leakage" too, even if no data package exists and it's getting used at a standard rate.

Has anybody else had a UK pension provider refuse to make payments to a Wise account?
Other posters on here have mentioned they are in that position.
