I don't see how a border bounce helps you.  I think Thailand (and almost every other country) requires you to have a minimum of 6 months before your passport expires to enter the country.   Canada is likely the only country that will allow you to enter with your current passport.

Thailand has no such requirement for Canadian (and many other) passport holders.  They only require it to be valid for the period of intended stay.

If we check luggage in for the complete journey in Perth then we will not be able to leave the airport as we will be checked in for the complete journey I.e. Perth - BKK-LHR

They are just as wrong with their advice this time as they were about you needing a transit visa.

Interesting - thanks. With respect, why then do the airport wheelchair staff wear the red "Air Asia" ribbons around their necks to display their ID cards? This was the case recently at Siem Reap Angkor Airport, and Chiang Mai Airport.

They've probably got a selection of lanyards and put on the one for whichever airline they're currently operating for.

The self-service was a breeze when I went thru it on Tuesday for my trip to Europe.  Put the passport face down on the photo page, wait about 3 or 4 seconds, your photo comes up on the screen, the doors open, and off you go.  This was after the carry-on luggage scanning was also a breeze--no lines and that went fast, too.

That sounds like the immigration auto gates?  This article is about another system for bag drop, boarding etc where normally you would show your ID and boarding pass but now will be done using facial recognition.  Despite their claims it does not appear to be getting used yet for all departures (if any).

My washer started going nuts a while back—crazy loud, shaking all over the place, and just a total hassle. I was ready to toss it and get a new one, but figured I’d see if it could be fixed first. Turns out, the bearings and belt were shot, but once those were swapped out, it was running smooth and way quieter.
Honestly, getting someone who knows their stuff to check it out saved me from spending on a whole new machine. If you’re in a similar spot, it’s worth calling in a pro. I’ve used musiccityappliance.services before, and they did a solid job fixing mine.

Always good to know about a repair service in Nashville, USA on a South East Asian forum.  Thanks. 🙄

Or, she may have been offering a helpful suggestion that by the time the ticket sales open up 30 days in advance, all the seats will probably be sold out.  Best to buy what's available right now and burn the $5 worth that they won't be using.

Not unless something has changed.  When I travelled that route I purchased the tickets at Chiang Mai Station and the OP was trying to book at Phitsanulok Station.  The 30 day restriction is online only.

  7. Online sales only open 30 days ahead for journeys between 25% and 50% of a long distance train's journey, which I think Chiang Mai to Phitsanulok would come into.

I've booked and travelled from Chiang Mai to Phitsanulok before so unless something has changed she was talking nonsense.

Digressing slightly but I have considered using a sim card router because that is not affected by fibre downtime but there does not appear to be many users out there who can comment or recommend .

There's been a fair bit of discussion over the last couple of years including a long thread by a guy who tested various different set-ups combining different mobile suppliers and routers IIRC.  It may be in the Mobile Devices section rather than here in IT and Computers.

I currently have 4 on the go between here and the UK and as with most things I would say you get what you pay for.  My routers vary from a cheap no-name Chinese one to 2 Strong branded ones and a ZTE one.  All are 4G but satisfy my requirements without the need for 5G.

  9. KODI is just the tool you are using to manage and view your media.  The source and type of this media and the hardware you are using could all effect the viewing experience and cause buffering, as well as the internet conection itself.  If you have 250Mbps (capital M) consistently then you can be pretty sure it's not the internet connection.

Sorry but all road into that junction have stop signs.

Those are for the railway line crossing and positioned after the 3240 crosses each respective lane of the Railway Road.  If they were to stop traffic as you imply they would be positioned before the junction.

For all of the main junctions crossing the railway line road, the road to/from Sukhumvit has precedence.  (The Khao Noi crossing is a bit confusing because there's an extra set of signs before the road Railway Road meaning no-one apparently has right of way, but nevertheless that's not the case here).

It's been mentioned either earlier in this thread or in a similar one that the bill mentioned in that article was prorogued in April of this year and will not be progressing any further.  There's a replacement due to be pursued by the new Labour government but it's not had it's first reading yet.

I'm pretty sure you can't use Wise to send THB from a Thai account.  At least you have an alternative.

    OP wants to send PHP.

I just signed up for WISE.  I could only use my US bank account, I couldn't figure out how to use my BKB account.  Does anybody transfer using wise from there Thai Bank account? Did I miss something.

It's a bit convoluted but you can do this with Wise and fund the transfer using your BBL Debit Card.  You need to set it up as another currency, eg USD, to PHP transfer then pay for it by card.  It would be subject to overseas currency fees and possible cash advance fees so not recommended.

It's a costly way to move funds out of a Thai bank using Wise which many say is impossible.
