They use Bank of New York as a clearing house, the rate you get today would be about 35.5 baht..compare that to TransferWise you are loosing 10% of your pension. Always have it transferred to Thailand in Sterling, so pay to UK bank and do yourself
Or open foriegn currency account here.we have 1 no problem with it .we just transfer money from uk maybe twice a year.but i think your uk pension should be able to be paid into then u decide when u want to make withdrawal into baht

It’s a tricky one I have owned properties by way of Limited Company I have then sold / transferred my shares and purchased another property I have been doing it for 15 years with no issues myself and wife are directors she is farang as well and we have one Thai share holder who we are good friends with but when I came to live in Thailand I was only prepared to go down this road by telling myself it could all go belly up and I could lose every penny maybe I’ve been lucky as I’ve heard many horror stories but those were all foreigners who married Thai woman. You are only allowed to own a Condo outright anything else has to be either a Limited company or on a leasehold . Good luck with your decision
We bought house here english couple set up company .just ad to pay accountant once a year 12.000 bht.sold it 7 years later no problems whatever..buyers market at the moment . Nobody got money so find some good buys Don.t belive what some estate agents say ha e a look about .good luck

This is because China owns Thailand and controls the powers that be. China will insist their people are allowed back in, as they are pedaling the belief that the virus is a western disease etc.
it will be interesting to see what Thailand does if the Chinese flood back in and, god forbid, the infection rate here shoots back up. No idea how Thailand will explain that.So true

Has he got any idea how malls would control a maximum number of people entering, when they've probsbly got a number of entrances? Also how would they control the 2 hour time limit? Solutions will be most interesting, I'm sure!
Maybe clock in and out ????

Probably more to do with no inbound flight restrictions and tens of thousands of people from anywhere in the world arriving everyday without so much as a temperature check...UK has always like importing goods but that's taking it too far....not to mention all the lefty students haveing booze parties with cuddles galore plastered all over Facebook.
Too late on everything.wouldn't mind they had Italy as a example .other countries couldn't believe why uk took so long was it a lazy government or stupid

4 minutes ago, Rookiescot said:The official number of health workers who have died is 19.
My understanding is that the figure is actually 28.
How many of these people contracted the virus because of substandard PPE? Or indeed lack of PPE?
We had 2 months advanced notice that the virus was coming and those months should have been used to prepare.
Instead we had a PM and government playing down the potential severity and adopting a policy of herd immunity. Basically the government told people to wash their hands and sing happy birthday. They did precious little else.
Now we are desperately trying to source PPE, ventilators and medicines at a time when all the other countries have and are keeping their stockpiles.
If I had done my job this incompetently and people died because of my actions/inactions then I would have been prosecuted and jailed.
If my company had not provided the required PPE for the jobs we had to do then we would have been shut down by the HSE.
This government must be held to account for what has happened.
Ciuldn't agree more.where were health and safety then or the bloody unions to back them up .been up <deleted> creek if the docs and nurses ad downed tools makes my blood boil
