Foodland now carries Snapple Lemonade.
Thanks for that bit of information. Real lemonade is far superior to 7-Up which is way too sweet. Sometimes a nice cold shandy would go down well in the afternoon.

If you are going to spend 30 - 40 K on a bike, get a NEW one... My girlfriends bike was only 32 for a new Honda.
That was my first thought too! If you are willing to spend 40,000 Bt then you would be better off with a new one. No damage and a full warranty.

You have been a member of this forum for nearly 4 years, have made over 700 posts, and yet you are gullible enough to work for someone illegally, without a written contract?
What did you expect the police to do? You were lucky not to be reported to the relevant authority. Perhaps the red shirts were keeping the police busy so they didn't bother with you.
So, just walk away from this, count your blessings that you haven't got a bigger problem........

First: buy a calculator!
What would such a business cost to set up? Factory, proper equipment (I don't just mean the items for making cheese, I mean the food grade tables, refrigerators, etc.) food production licences from the FDA, work permit, how many Thai staff could you manage with as a minimum (got to meet work permit requirements).
Now, add the costs of raw materials, distribution and delivery costs, advertising. What type of clients are you looking for? Basically it will be the foreign population. Thais are like the Chinese when it comes to cheese. They eat some very smelly food but they won't touch the secretions of an animal that has been allowed to ferment, i.e. cheese.
Having written all of that, I love all types of cheese but rarely buy it myself, just too exopensive for what it is. That is another problem for you. To make it a viable business proposition you will have to charge more than people will pay.
Good luck.

You don't mention if your licence is a Thai driving licence. If it is the hotels will accept it (it shows your passport number on). I rarely take my passport with me when I go to Bangkok, just use my Thai licence. As someone else has mentioned, use your embassy for passport renewal. They will give you a receipt showing that your passport is with them and this will be accepted by the police if they want to see it.
I have seen Thais refused boarding passes at the airport because their ID was illegible. Don't try to fly without acceptable ID, you may get there but not get back. Buses may be a better option.
I suggest that your best option is to get everything sorted before you come to Thailand. Better safe than sorry.

Never tried one but this may give you some ideas

I don't know what is available in Thailand so you will have to ask around.
However, as they aren't seen very often (never?) they obviously aren't that popular.

It sounds to me like the second foreign man who 'managed to escape' was the informant working to imprison foreigners.
It seems to me that you are skilled at jumping to conclusions!

I asked about this last year in Kasikorn Bank. Their answer was that the Bank Of Thailand forbids loans to foreigners. Common sense really as a foreigner could easily take the cash and leave the country.
A loan for soemthing like a car may be offered by the seller but they will want a guarantee. If you have property they may give a loan tied to that, but a loan to start a business, I doubt it.

The earlier comment about buying a legitimate copy of 7 then handing your computer to someone else, thus allowing them to make a copy of you legitimate 7 is correct. Don't trust anyone else. Buy your copy, stick it in you computer, install. Easy. It will automatically format your drive.

I often say that some people should never have a computer and you friend sounds like one of them I get asked by someone who often has a problem, then when I try to explain he doesn't listen and clicks randomly everywhere. Clicks anything that can be clicked, no thought to the consequences etc, then wonders why he has viruses, programs not working, files missing.

You didn't mention a work permit.
My first thought too! Advertising that you intend to set this up gives plenty of warning to others that you are likley to be breaking labour law.

If you have a decent model Canon they do a waterproof case that you take underwater with you. The catch is that they are 7,000 Bt. Better to spend a few thousand on a cheap camera and wrap in a plastic bag. You can still take pictures without running the risk of damaging a good camera. Personally I leave my camera at home during Songkran.........in fact I stay at home.

You don't say if you are waiting for your passsport to come from your embassy or not. If you are British then it should have gone to Hong Kong to be processed, not the Embassy.
So, when did you post it? When is your 90 day report due? Remember that you have a leeway of 7 days before and 7 days after the due date to do the reporting. I would guess that as you are writing this in advance of your 90 day report you have plenty of time for the passport to arrive then go to immigration.
As an aside, it is always a good idea to keep copies of every page of your passport before you send it off for renewal. Personally I am waiting to see how the new arrangements for using Hong Kopng work out before I will risk sending my passport.

Aah! Just tried again, got the same holding page but clicked on Buy UKNova and got the normal schedule page. Perhaps someone at UKNova is having fun after all.
All will be revealed later.
-
I use UKNOva regularly. Today it is showing a standard holding page and a for sale notice. Doesn't appear to be an April Fool.

My internet is peculiar today. I am downloading at 340 KB/S, a record speed. I must be benefitting from your loss.

In the interest of non-car-owning TV members may I kindly request more photos of the pretties and less photos of the overpriced cars.
Thanks in advance.
That's why I came, not to look at the cars I can see on Sukhumvit every day!!
OK, I know I can see the girls every day but something of beauty is a joy to behold!

The letter I get from the British Embassy always say what income I get in British Pounds. They never convert it to Thai Baht.

The Queen Vic in Soi 6 do an excellent carvery.

Try upstairs in Friendship.
and there is a stationary store on the corner of Soi Town In Town called Sirapan on Pattaya Klang. This shop and Friendship are much cheaper than Central etc.

Farang are just a niche market!
Come on! You can't mean that! Foreign tourists, not just Farangs, but Koreans, Japanese etc etc bring money into the country to boost the economy. Thai tourists do not improve the economy at all. They have their money and spend it in Thailand, it makes no difference to the econimy if they spend it in hotels in Bangkok, bars in Nana, or on the beach in Samui, it is Thai money spent in Thailand. It brings nothing into the country.
The mediacl tourism industry alone brings in many many billions of Bt. Expats, those who are not working bring in a fortine every year. Just one expat pensioner spending one million Bt per year is a valuable asset, think how many Thai shopkeepers, etc, make a living because of just one pensioner.
Plus, the expat with a Thai wife, who builds a business, catering for foreigners helps tourists spend their money, in Thailand and adds to the economy.
Fortunately the government don't think like that. Free visas, the establishment of TAT etc shows that at least they know tourists are valuable.
Nokia Cellphone Can Use In Us?
in Mobile Devices and Apps

Is your Nokia a Tri-band one. The US uses a different band to Thailand. Dual band phones work in many countries but the US is the odd one out.
What model have you got? Do you have the instruction manual? If you do then it should say if it is tri-band and will work in the US. If it doesn't look it up on Nokia's website.
