  1. I accept that AIS is now owned by a Singaporean company and understand why some people think that targeting AIS is a daft move but think about it. AIS and Thaksin's name are still linked in many minds. All other companies owned by Shin Corp will lose value as no-one will want to by them in case the same thing happens again. It will make it more difficult for Thaksin to sell and the value of the shares will drop. Perhaps Suthep is wiser than some posters think.

  2. I remember when I was expecting a parcel from overseas about three years ago. I could tell from the tracking number that it had arrived in Thailand so I knew more or less when it should have been delivered. No delivery.......then I got a telephone call from someone in the Post Office to check my address as the sender had written it incomplete. I gave him my address and at the end of his shift, 5pm, the same man I spoke to drove to my house in his own car to deliver it to me personally.

Where else in the world would I get that sort of service?

  3. Simple. If you both agree that there are no issues around children or property then it is easy. You will both be asked individually if you have children together, then you will be asked if you own anything together. Remember that property bought before the marriage doesn't count, only property bought whilst you were legally married. If you both answer these questions and confirm there are no issues the regiistrar will proceed. Present the original marriage documents, ones that were given to each of you when you got married, the information about the divorce is recorded and you pay the 240 Bt.

If you have lost or misplaced one of the original certificates then go to the nearest police station, report the loss and pay 20 Bt for a police report. That report will be accepted in lieu of the original certificate.

  4. We're wasting our time here fellers. Not matter what amount of advice we give him, his little head has made up his mind for him. People like the OP NEVER listen to what others have to say even though they acknowledge that most advice is given by people who have been in Thailand far longer, and know much more about these things than he does. I wonder why he bothered to post in the first place,Just another lovestruck fool IMO.

I have lost count of the number of times that I have seen these idiots rushing into these sort of arrangements. I don't bother to warn them any more - complete and utter waste of time.

Excellent advice. Unfortunately when the gullible meet the greedy the greedy one wins. He has already made his mind up and doesnt want to listen to people with experience. I also, like you, don't bother wasting my breath warning people anymore.

  5. My wife showed me pictures of this accident last night. If it is the same accident there was a small child involved as well, a picture of the child;s smashed leg and someone holding a piece of bone from his tibia could be seen. My wife commented that they were crossing Sukhumvit and ignoring the footbridge nearby.

This could so easily have been avoided. Rest in peace.

  6. Pilotman, no need to get worked up about this. My last 90 day reorting took me three minutes, didn't even get time to sit down - and that was on a Friday afternoon. My one year extension in February too less than 20 miuntes. Here in Pattaya we can get a Proof of Income letter from the British embassy using a designated visa agent, or make it a day out in Bangkok once a year to visit the embassy in person.

  7. I was talking to a friend last night who had the same issues. He emailed me today to say:

After praising True I think I've just realised that they were the reason why my pages were being redirected to Parking.ps, after spending most of the day trying to fix this with various antiviruses etc.
Anyway I found a cure using an Add On with Firefox and Chrome called "HTTPS Everything".
This looks like a good Add On as it opens everything on the browser securely and seems to work really well, I think I shall keep it even though True seems to have cured the problem.
  8. For all those that are making light of this subject you really need to sit and watch what this punishment means in real life.

At what part when you see the skin torn apart and lost muscle control do you consider that this thread deserves any light hearted comments ??

Maybe this would "solve" Thailand's problem with overstaying farang? Still funny is it ?

That is why I wrote earlier "Having watched a video of someone being caned (indeed, I

could not watch it all, way too barbaric) I can't condone making jokes

    about it."
