I accept that AIS is now owned by a Singaporean company and understand why some people think that targeting AIS is a daft move but think about it. AIS and Thaksin's name are still linked in many minds. All other companies owned by Shin Corp will lose value as no-one will want to by them in case the same thing happens again. It will make it more difficult for Thaksin to sell and the value of the shares will drop. Perhaps Suthep is wiser than some posters think.

Hi, use this as a comparison for new prices, this firm will deliver as well.
http://www.lazada.co.th/shop-smartphones/apple/
They sometimes have refurbished iPhones. A refurbished iPhone 4 is about 12,000 to 12,500 Bt

Certain amount of information here: http://www.tataicambodia.com/
Thanks for that link, really informative. I will be over there next week so I now have a better idea of the questions I need to ask.

I remember when I was expecting a parcel from overseas about three years ago. I could tell from the tracking number that it had arrived in Thailand so I knew more or less when it should have been delivered. No delivery.......then I got a telephone call from someone in the Post Office to check my address as the sender had written it incomplete. I gave him my address and at the end of his shift, 5pm, the same man I spoke to drove to my house in his own car to deliver it to me personally.
Where else in the world would I get that sort of service?

Perhaps it would actually benefit some of us. Borrow a large amount from the banks, repeat the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 and we are back to 95 Bt to the GBP.

I haven't used a fan or aircon for seven weeks and today got my lowest ever electricity bill. Half the amount that I usually pay.
Mind you, I had to wear a long sleeve shirt when I went out last night. Just like a nice UK summer's day.

Simple. If you both agree that there are no issues around children or property then it is easy. You will both be asked individually if you have children together, then you will be asked if you own anything together. Remember that property bought before the marriage doesn't count, only property bought whilst you were legally married. If you both answer these questions and confirm there are no issues the regiistrar will proceed. Present the original marriage documents, ones that were given to each of you when you got married, the information about the divorce is recorded and you pay the 240 Bt.
If you have lost or misplaced one of the original certificates then go to the nearest police station, report the loss and pay 20 Bt for a police report. That report will be accepted in lieu of the original certificate.

Friends of mine who live in Phetchabun come to Pattaya to do their 90 day reports. Any excuse for a few days here, and no problems with immigration.

We're wasting our time here fellers. Not matter what amount of advice we give him, his little head has made up his mind for him. People like the OP NEVER listen to what others have to say even though they acknowledge that most advice is given by people who have been in Thailand far longer, and know much more about these things than he does. I wonder why he bothered to post in the first place,Just another lovestruck fool IMO.
I have lost count of the number of times that I have seen these idiots rushing into these sort of arrangements. I don't bother to warn them any more - complete and utter waste of time.
Excellent advice. Unfortunately when the gullible meet the greedy the greedy one wins. He has already made his mind up and doesnt want to listen to people with experience. I also, like you, don't bother wasting my breath warning people anymore.

Can anyone confirm that this is OK with Immigration? Key Visa will arrange the letter but it is much more expensive. I need the letter in a couple of weeks but, although I normally enjoy a trip to get it from the embassy, I don't really want to go to Bangkok whilst the demonstrations are on.

People may pronounce it incorrectly but at least we know what they mean. Your "Miss Pronounce" really confused me, I thought it was about a girl whose poor pronunciation gave her a nickname.

I have just read all of the posts and, as expected, read lots of criticism and justifiable negative comments. I would like to add that over 95% were rescued, so at least be grateful for the rescue services capability. I saw many ambulances struggling to get through the traffic, not an easy thing to do.

My wife showed me pictures of this accident last night. If it is the same accident there was a small child involved as well, a picture of the child;s smashed leg and someone holding a piece of bone from his tibia could be seen. My wife commented that they were crossing Sukhumvit and ignoring the footbridge nearby.
This could so easily have been avoided. Rest in peace.

Pilotman, no need to get worked up about this. My last 90 day reorting took me three minutes, didn't even get time to sit down - and that was on a Friday afternoon. My one year extension in February too less than 20 miuntes. Here in Pattaya we can get a Proof of Income letter from the British embassy using a designated visa agent, or make it a day out in Bangkok once a year to visit the embassy in person.

More like 34 Baht !
So, one of them had 12 Bt in his pocket?

Just a thought, what do you do if immigration ask what you have been living on when you can't take money out? Wouldn't it be better to show the account that you use regularly?

I was talking to a friend last night who had the same issues. He emailed me today to say:
After praising True I think I've just realised that they were the reason why my pages were being redirected to Parking.ps, after spending most of the day trying to fix this with various antiviruses etc.Anyway I found a cure using an Add On with Firefox and Chrome called "HTTPS Everything".This looks like a good Add On as it opens everything on the browser securely and seems to work really well, I think I shall keep it even though True seems to have cured the problem. -
Don't forget that Royal Garden has lots of entertainment areas for tourists. All at inflated prices written in English Thai prices written in Thai to try and disguise the Dual Pricing.

Present both pasports when you leave.
Exactly what wayned said. Present both and you can't go wrong.
My wife has just had her passport renewed in the UK. Her retirement visa is in the old one. She just needs to present both until she renews her visa in September.
If she goes to Immigration they will transfer it to her new passport. Free.

This is brilliant! At the prices mentioned I will cancel my BUPA policy and take up the Thai scheme and save money. On the other hand....................

Ditto, he is my favourite Royal due to his total disregard for political correctness. Hopefully he will be with us for some time to come.
Yes, I agree - we could do with more people like him.

For all those that are making light of this subject you really need to sit and watch what this punishment means in real life.
At what part when you see the skin torn apart and lost muscle control do you consider that this thread deserves any light hearted comments ??
Maybe this would "solve" Thailand's problem with overstaying farang? Still funny is it ?
That is why I wrote earlier "Having watched a video of someone being caned (indeed, I
could not watch it all, way too barbaric) I can't condone making jokes
about it."

There are politicians in the English Parliament who have paid strict ladies to do the same procedure.
Perhaps six of the best across the bum would be better than a B20,000 fine?

Dogs inside condo room
in General Topics
Posted
If the OP has a dog in a condo perhaps he would be kind enough to tell us where. So that we can all avoid bying one there. I love dogs but would hate to keep one in a condo.
