  1. Will be returning Thailand on the 25th SETV however I’m thinking of a road trip with my partner and children,. Was planing on visiting Vientiane Laos. Or even Vietnam ... question being if visiting within 60 days would I lose my visa,.
if that’s the case I’ll visit after 60 days when renewing another 30 days. Have a permanent address in ubon when stay in the kingdom.

As I said, I am only Aussie on paper. I have the passport because of my mother. I am mainly swiss and live in switzerland. Going to Melbourne will not be possible. Anyway, I see kinda now what my options are. I will have more questions later. First I have to figure out where I want to go. As I mentioned, I'd like to go to a beach, with some tourism but not like Patong. My friend was there and he said its awful. Anyway, a beach, some coffees where I can write, some tourists and a gym to train Muay Thai. Not for me, my brother is a semi pro and would like to visit and train. Any Ideas?

Thailand has some top quality Muay Thai gym’s if your brothers interested “. Thailand can be distracting with various nightlife entertainment. If wanting away from the norm would suggest Legacy gym in ubon several foreigners train there and your taught by Past/present world champions ... good luck with the adventure ????

  3. Accidents happen unfortunately,I’ve seen the go-fund page 40,000 baht for some Aussie lawyer and just over 2k raised,. According to reports the Thai family want 200,000 Baht which i believe around 5k. Previously read you also went to the mans funeral ( Buddhists burnt ) told could leave the country by the police, should have had this in writing “.then arrested trying to leave the country,. British embassy should be helping and not down to a go-fund page ! Sadly this is Thailand and money number one hopefully it gets resolved and your allowed to return back to the u.k

Sadly the photo does little to help the cause with a bottle of beer in full view ‘like you say wasn’t drunk and I’m sure the breathalyzer backs that up ‘therefor i wouldn’t be paying either and would expect my insurance to cover any legal costs amongst any other costs incurred,.

  4. I’ve been visiting Thailand for many years now ‘always visit 3 month SETV after 60 days just report to immigration and renew another 30 days at cost 1900 baht. Have a Thai family in ubon and when visiting last year was grilled about the address and told to refill in of course refused, was questioned for 25m last person at carousel only allowed through after contacting my partner. Was the first time I’ve had trouble,. Will be returning on the 25th and I’m expecting a friendlier welcome without delays before departing for ubon on SETV ‘because of the strong baht only visit once a year ‘ previously twice a year,

  5. America 3 1/2 times the size of Thailand in terms of population,.therefor there will be more gun crimes ! It’s also written into there constitution ( personally don’t believe you should be able to carry a gun ) however i do believe you should have a gun ( kept on property only ) to protect your family against those who want to harm you...... clearly gun crime worse in America “. Thailand now have the opportunity to change the laws after the recent gun killings which left 26 dead in Korat ! Common sense must prevail over stupidity

The problems began when China banned all outbound tours in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Mr Chairat said.

With Chinese tourists making up the biggest group of visitors to Thailand, the tourism sector lost its main source of income overnight

Unbelievable I’m actually glad ‘didn’t you mother ever tell you ‘ be careful what you wish for ! By concentrating on the Chinese and Indians you’ve neglected other nations who built your infrastructure .... som na na

in most cases the baht would weaken dramatically and that’s something we all wish for ????

  7. Panic has become rife with conspiracy theory’s concerning this latest outbreak of corona virus....

    1620 bubonic plague

    1720 the great plague

    1820 first case of cholera

    1920 Spanish flu

    2020 Chinese virus

I'm sure airport checks will be prolonged,. Trouble with this virus you can pass it on without knowing and that’s the problem,. It’s not like say a common cold allowing you to take measures..

..maybe I’m daft but when travel Thailand in couple of weeks I’ll make sure I’ve got a breathable mask ????

  8. I’m appalled and shocked Thailand’s health minister has not sought council and stopped flights from China arriving into Thailand. Simple solution Chinese passengers must be screened in China before leaving .... it’s like that old adage they’ve left it’s not our problem anymore,.whereas Thailand’s only concern seems money. I’m worried as arriving next month and my only concern is making sure I’ve got the right health cover. Worrying times indeed because if nothing is done then we could have a epidemic on our hands...

  9. Contradicting story the man in question flew out to Thailand on December 19th.... one week later he’s fighting for his life koh phi phi / rushed to hospital in Phuket - new year put tubes into his back to drain lungs ( gone from 14st down to just 9st ) parents have arrived - couldn’t fly in seaplane at the time to bumrangrad as lungs had almost collapsed ! He’s from lancashire and has been in t.v programs such as coronation street .... his parents said if he was not a fitness freak he would have died ... specialist have told his parents it will take about a year for him to recover properly. This story can be read in the sun newspaper online ...... just google his name and sun newspaper to read the full story

  10. Maybe it’s my sense of humor but this sign makes me laugh probably written by an Englishman as the spelling was correct and the writing very neat.
my Thai is limited as cannot get the tones correct,. it’s a very difficult language to learn. However on a serious note,Thai schools only learn broken English as the majority of teachers I’ve met are American and of course when you can write and speak English you notice the mistakes being made. I’ve seen this close up when my son brings home his homework from school and it infuriates me as believe if you can speak and write in English You will certainly Have better job prospects and the opportunity to move overseas and earn a good living.

  11. Thanks roel great piece ???? very informative,.since looked the case up on google and there’s mistakes all over the place mate. Actually feel sorry for the Dutchman. Been offered 20m compensation from the Dutch Authorities, clearly a case that will take years to resolve due to the amount of monies involved. Transferring 300m baht was suicidal and believe that’s when he was accused of tax evasion. One piece tickled me Dutch minster talk with Chan ocha that failed to win his freedom before latest release, was Thai p.m couldn’t understand why coffee shops so profitable to receive 300m baht That’s 7.5m sterling ...this time next year I’m predicting Thailand to have several coffee shops.

  12. The strong baht is crippling the Thai economy.. poor exchange rate add to that the a.t.m charges ( poorer rate ) every time farang use a.t.m charged 200 / 250 baht per transaction .... Usually in Thailand at this time of year myself,. Unfortunately won’t be until March and instead normal 3 months will just 2 month visit. If it wasn’t for my Thai family,i wouldn’t be returning,as it’s becoming very expensive sending family money and paying for sons schooling ..... long gone are the days of 72 baht to the pound.
