this time next year tat will be hosting a new game show called recession ..... or i shot myself in the foot !
-
tat in English means old junk ( rubbish ) serious a fortune teller ? Don’t take Einstein to realize thailand is entering a recession especially when your reading Phuket and Pattaya hotels are 30% and 35% down on tourism. Previous reports from tat showed tourism was on the up ! Clearly somebody lying and I’ve travelled extensively throughout Thailand and it’s the same everywhere people not spending like they once were - without a proper plan in place Thailand will see more and more protestors take to the streets, price increases will follow as will austerity

Paraded on national t.v for a 5 day overstay is embarrassing ! Before long the immigration will be wanting to drive you from the airport to the hotel of your choice before returning to collect you and return you to the airport with a surcharge of 5,000 baht

the pollution in Bangkok is disgusting with rubbish scattered everywhere,. Haven’t stayed in Bangkok for 2yrs now do to the bad stench that comes from the drains at night.Much prefer up country as the air much cleaner. Try blowing your nose after a night out in Bangkok the black dust is everywhere ????

No kidding Sherlock April the 1st jokes still be printed in November after the theft of mrs Huay money from Kasikornbank bank I’m predicting they will be underpinning the baht until further notice !

The Fed lowers interest rates in order to stimulate economic growth, as lowerfinancing costs can encourage borrowing and investing. However, when rates are too low, they can spur excessive growth and subsequent inflation, reducing purchasing power and undermining the sustainability of the economic expansion......
100% this is not sustainable therefore the baht should be weakening and not strengthening.

As police took him away, he shouted “put me on YouTube and make me famous”.
According to comments posted on Facebook, this wasn’t the first time the man had been abusive and threatened members of the public.....
cannot condone this type of behaviour and reading between the lines the American has mental health issues !
i’m surprised he’s been released on bail until December when in reality he needs medical attention as his reactions are not one of a sound person.- 2

hindsight a wonderful thing,.sadly can’t comment as wasn’t there speaking with his wife he was generally a good guy who abided by the law..
I’ve been in Pattaya many times and it’s happened to myself Agogo bars and in bars,I’ve argued paid and never returned. It happens we’re all different and can’t comment on other people’s mistakes.. agree with you but when alcohol involved we act differently

Killed because the Thais tried over billing him in mandarin agogo bar Pattaya ..... that’s why he left,he also tried calling the tourist police who didn’t turn up and sort the problem out. The gentleman who was killed owned the plan cafe in Morgan’s arcade Cardiff with his wife Veronica. A ex serviceman who served in the gulf war - this mindless crime happened in may last year and he was eventually flown home to the uk before dying from brain injury on March the 24th this year. Glad he’s not lost his sense of humour !

To show that he means what he says 15 people who had overstayed their welcome in Thailand were paraded for the cameras - they comprised 8 Somalis, three Syrians and 4 Chinese.
Somalia and Syria ( both war torn countries with high poverty rate )
those captured are probably war criminals who have been in hiding now caught deported and possibly never to be seen again !

Two million are expected to visit in 2019 - but that will rise to 14 million by the end of the next decade.
TNN have reported that the average Indian spends a whopping 5,800 baht a day.
Indians spending over 40,000 baht week ???????????? Pull the other one sounds like Mumbai coming to a beach near you !

Thailand already on the watch list for manipulating there currency by selling baht and purchasing the American dollar. Another way of cheating the system for export taxes...... exports & tourism down banks manipulating there currency is as bad as inside trading and those responsible should be held accountable !
-
where do they find these stories as last week they were saying the opposite ! My advice to the ex pats try option 4 ~ move to pastures new ( Laos and Vietnam will see that pension stretch a lot further ) the worlds in recession yet the baht is the strongest of any currency ? It’s just not sustainable anymore living in Thailand.

400k sitting on the dashboard stabbed 17 times just don’t sound right if you ask me.
17 stab wounds was a frenzy attack,. and I believe the victim knew the assailant who’s responsible for this heinous crime. Maybe a rival businessman who knows at this stage it’s all a guessing game and the only way we will know is if the police carry out a full investigation or the Korean wakes up and spill the beans,.either way stories like this scares tourists visiting Thailand. I’ve seen a lot of violence in Pattaya over the years and several unexplained murders...... There’s no smoke without fire ! -
Taken immigration 5yrs that’s not something i would be shouting about as it implies incompetence ! Parading farang In front of the cameras for 22 day overstay ? Really I’m sure there’s more important issues than blaming farang for breathing. It’s the ex pats who are living and abiding by the laws who gets tarnished which is wrong,.
my question for the fella staying 5yrs ~ can the Thai authorities confiscate his land and assets If a homeowner illegally -
Senior army man denies trying to murder "pretties" in their car
Picture: Daily News
A senior military man presented himself at the Bang Kruay police yesterday.
The sergeant major denied that he shot two "pretties" in their Yaris.
He claims he sold the gun used in the attack to a friend a long time ago
-
Maybe he sold his gun to the judge who shot himself in Bangkok a few weeks back ???? just a thought ! ..... even with the evidence ? Ignorance is bliss. An example must be made and stripped of his title and sentenced to at least 15yrs in prison. However being an army state he’ll get promoted by sitting behind a desk and it will be sweeped under The carpet...
-
Maybe he had few glasses of low cow and got confused with the Buddhist and Gregorian calendar ????????

4 hours ago, webfact said:According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, some4.44 million European tourists visited in the first eight months of this year, a 1.9-per-cent drop. The decline was seen mainly in the markets of Russia, Germany, Sweden, and France.
Pattaya has become a ghost town when several years ago the bars were flourishing, the beaches full and people received good value for there money. Today bars empty / beaches empty / tourists who once visited for several months are now staying only a couple of weeks. Or are now arriving in Bangkok and taking flights to Vietnam Cambodia or up country away from these once thriving tourist destinations ... Eva air has seen a 8% drop in travelers from the uk alone Yet no mention of British or American travelers dropping in numbers or the Chinese ? Like most things the government say i take with a pinch of salt,.

thai airways not a company I would use again after being treated terribly several years ago.... found them to be rude and the food poor, since then I’ve always flown by Eva air who are without doubt the best airline I’ve flown with.... that said when in Thailand always use Thai smile nothing do with Thai airways luckily......

I’ve always been skeptical regarding Thai laws and this proves my point in case,. If you’ve got the money and connections your walking away. Believe the actions from the judge was a cry for help
-
will lead to a retrial and a new judge will be called in to preside over the case. Don’t know the full story of the case so it would be folly of me to comment on those on trial.
-
It’s not what you know,it’s who you know ‘and this has never been more evident than in Thailand.

let’s look at the bigger picture and ex pats who’ve purchased property in Thailand. If you moved to Thailand when the baht was weak .... take myself 72 baht to the pound !
720,000 baht = 10,000 pounds property good value-
todays exchange rates 36 = 360,000 baht only = 10,000 sterling
making the markets volatile. Both examples ......
-
when arriving a million baht was just under 14k sterling
today million baht almost 25k sterling ...therefor those purchasing property today will be left with negative equity and those that purchased before the big boom are laughing all the way to the bank......
Good luck to each and everyone of you * hindsight is a wonderful thing...... personally I’ve had to return to the uk as exchange rates makes living on a pension more expensive in Thailand than that of the u.k
The good news America v China trade war ..... means less Chinese tourists ? Weak Renminbi / yuan / yen will see business projects shelved in turn weakening the baht. Predicting the baht will weaken in the new year as current rates not viable from a business point of view.

Sex game that went wrong ? Really,I’m suspecting he pushed the Thai prostitute after reading of his past. Raping a 12yr old child sickens me greatly and I’m praying he’s <deleted> up the <deleted> and then they throw away the key.
-
laws must be changed * Rapists in the uk are placed on the sex register therefor I’m appalled he was allowed to travel to Thailand in the first instance. Thailand must ban anybody convicted of sex crimes against children from entering the kingdom.
-
If due diligence had been carried out then this Thai sex worker may have still be alive today.

Frenchman accepts he was not extorted by Thai police - might have been his Thai/Indian friend instead

Wow what a dull Frenchman ‘stopped & searched ~ found nothing still arrested and made to take a drug test ! Medicinal oil traces found in blood stream...... apparently prescribed by a doctor
-
I've been stopped & searched several times, yet I’ve never been asked to accompany the police back to the station for a drug test. Police wanted 8,000 dollars Why ? Also thought under the new laws it was actually legal to now grow & smoke marijuana as long as you register .... this law was coming into effect when i left 5 months ago.
-
so many flaws with this case ‘ i would have agreed to a random search however i would have refused a drug test and refused to accompany them back to the station. as there was no cause for arrest in the first instance unless there was canoodling between Thai girlfriend Thai/Indian friend or police. GF disappeared with the 8,000 dollars that don’t surprise me,I’m sure as we speak there’s an APB out on her
