  1. Thanks for your input. At present the high tank is being used to store water from a well. I am pretty sure the pump is very old but seems to have no trouble filling from there but following your advice I will check it out.
  2. I want to modify a pump system from pumping from a tank directly to several rooms, to a system where I pump from the tank to another storage tank which is on a high stand uphill and from there gravity feed back down to the rooms. I was going to install a cock and ball system on the high stand tank so it shuts off the pump when full. I have the most powerful hitachi pump from Siam Global. At present the outlet from the pump converts from 2 inch (or 1.5 inch-sorry not sure exact size) pvc pipe to a half inch(smallest size pvc pipe). At present he high stand tank has the larger size pvc for its input. I want to adapt the old system so it goes from the 2 inch to the half inch and when it reaches the high tank it goes back to the 2 inch pipe. The distance between the 2 tanks is about 100 metres so it will save me a lot of pipe by adapting the old system instead of laying new 2 inch pipe all the length. I was hoping some kind people would know if I will have trouble maintaining pressure when it goes from 1/2 inch back to 2 inch. I was thinking because it is a sealed system It should be ok. Thank you.
  3. Thank you for the info. Cheers.
  4. I am in Savannaket and need to pick up my passport tomorrow. The Embassy staff seemed busy and I asked what time to pick up. He said 2 pm but I did not verify if this meant at 2 pm or before 2pm as the Embassy closes. I couldnt find any times online. Hoping somebody can advise. Some posters seemed to think going here for a non o is a waste of time and an agent is better but am enjoying coffee and french bread and the holiday away from the family. I think I was the only non o applicant as most people in the morning queue seemed to be Filipino teachers or seeking toirist visas. They looked through my papers, did not want my updated kor ror 2 and gave my bank statement back without looking at it. All he said was 5000 baht. Hopefully no trouble picking up tomorrow.
  5. I am expecting money to go into my Australian bank soon but for now am getting under 20000 baht. I have a visa card with about 200,000 baht credit available (10000 AUD). Do you think they will accept that or should I get a cash advance on the card so it is in my personal account? Cheers.
  6. You comment that Ubonjoe gave you the wrong info then mention that the ATK test may or may not be required (dont count on it). Maybe the need to get a qr code is a recent change(like the ATK test) that may or may not be required depending on the whim of the officials.

Thanks. It is the 'usually' bit on Google Maps that catches me out. The listings are dependant on the owner logging in and changing it.

I was hoping someone knew if Silom Sauna in the soi across from Central Marina is open? Open to other suggestions.
  9. They are probably nearly broke anyway. Things have been very hard for hospitality in Thailand and a brief walk around some tourist areas show 100's of shuttered shops. At times during Covid there were 100's of people queieing for food. There has only really been government assistance for larger businesses. Why dont you get a sim. 200 baht unlimited for a month?
  10. I usually eat Thai food and dont mind the dogs etc. I just think Thai food has been ruined by their sugar addiction. Whatever I eat has that same taste of too sugar. All the flavours that made it famous are gone. I ask them not too put it in but sometimes I forget or they forget and I cant eat it.
  11. Was an attempt at sarcasm????
  12. I always thought the predominant age group in Pattaya (over 50's) like dance music and Thai pop songs.
  13. Thanks Do you have any idea what 'adequate finance' means, Joe? ????
  14. He was talking about Hat Lek and it was a direct reply to his comment claiming that Hat Lek is an easy border when it is well known for it's scamming Cambodian border officials and it's fake medical test.
  15. Thank you for the info. I thought you would also need a letter from your wife asking for the visa?
  16. Did you bother reading zzzz's comment? It was about Hat Lek. Why dont you tell him?
  17. I have had trouble with the Cambodian Visa guys wanting extra payments. I started getting an evisa to avoid their bullying.
  18. Hi. I hope the thread being turnedinto a discussion about agents does not deter you from making your report on the trip. Would be keen to hear.????
  19. I was referring to the poster who took over the thread with the post about agents. I know it is possible to get a first time, retirement based extension for under 25,000b from a very reliable source. I personally would choose the option the OP is talking about. I understood most agents keep away from marriage based extensions but must be wrong.
  20. I thought he is getting scammed paying 30,000b to an agent. I know the first time is more expensive but there are cheaper than 30k
  21. There is minivan service to Chantaburi behind Numchai on Sukumvit rd near Soi Siam Country Club. Leaces 10am each morning. From Chantaburi plenty of options for KC. The vans had a bad reputation years ago but these days seem a lot safer with the drivers laying off the yabba. For a big bus I would try Boonsiri ferry company.
  22. I also think there is a lot of wrong impressions with Dengue. Many Thais are immune to mosquito bites as they have been bitten since babies. For this reason they think they can not get Dengue but are still just as likely to get it. I'd add picking up rubbish and getting rid of all the old tyres they seem tp collect to your list
