  1. If you are so untroubled by finances why don't you get a visa at one of the surrounding embassies. If you have 400,000 b in a Thai bank account for 6 months you can go to Ho chi Minh, Vientiane, KL and any of the surrounding countries. Why bother poor Savannakhet with your complaints.
  2. Why cause trouble. If Savannakhet consulate are easy going and allow visas with lax regulations why attract attention. If you notify MFA maybe next thing is they will inspect Savannakhet and their regulations will tighten.
  3. I am sorry for so many posts but I did not know how to comment on my screenshots of my private message with the other poster. With all respect, I find it hard to believe that you think there are no agents in Savannakhet and as they are usually located close to immigration (in this case across the road) I do not understand that you think it is implausible. Before I left Laos, after I was over the frustration of being refused I did get the tuktuk to take me back to the shop as I thought it was a useful contact but it was closed in the afternoon I left a note under the door but no reply. I did send to Dolly's pizza shop(well known farung shop in Savannakhet) but no reply. If I was sure I could get an agent visa there for such a bargain price I would go straight there on my next visit.
  4. Unfortunately I was one of the first to be refused for no Financials in October. My last non-o had not expired yet but for my own reasons and suspecting with the new government a change was coming I went early and was refused. I actually commented on one of the first reports that they had changed policy if you check the feeds. As I was leaving in a very bad mood one of the tuk tuk drivers grabbed me and said I can get you a visa. He took me to the shop across the road and she grabbed my passport and started writing details. She said 12000 b for a non o. I already had another entry so I left, wrote off my travel costs and had another 3 months, a border run then 2 months visiting my wife. If you do not believe me you can easily check my former posts or maybe assume that Savannakhet immigration are so correct that they will not lower themselves to agent assisted visas. Considering the cost of living in Laos comparing it to a 22,000 baht first time agent assisted retirement visa in Pattaya it does not sound so 'could, woulda' I am surprised I am the only one who commented. There are 3 shops across the road and it was the closest to the bus station etc
  5. It is probably easier to get to BKK from the Eastern Seabord- Koh Chang, Koh Kood, Pattaya than to Sattahip. There are plenty of operators going there. Then you have the choice of bus, plane or boat to Samui. I would choose the boat. I have had customers who took Seahorse from Sattahip and they enjoyed it but getting to Sattahip can be difficult. Bangkok sounds good. I could send customers there.
  6. I went to Savannakhet last year and was offered a 12,000b agent assisted 1 year non-o married to a Thai visa with no financials required by the shop across the road from the consulate. I am not sure if that included the visa fee. I did not take it as I had other options but am surprised that nobody has taken it up and reported back. Considering a retirement visa in Pattaya is far more expensive to set up.
  7. I found it is not so easy to send to Thai bank accounts by Revolut. From what I understand needs a,swift code while with Wise you select the bank from a list, put in the account number and send.
  8. Sorry. You lost me with 'Your post was split up and only one part addressed rather than the context of the whole post' whatever the context of that is?
  9. I don't really think it was a complaint. I was just highlighting the crazy rules they are following at Laem Ngop. Personally I find it an invasion of my privacy and there is another office a bit further along towards Cambodia which I would use if I needed again. I thought the point of having a forum is to exchange information, even if you want to go through the posts and pass judgements on the importance of what others write. I think it is a good warning to others that if they use the Laem Ngop office they will need to do this and would be better off going to Klong Yai.
  10. I am sorry you have trouble understanding the context. It seems quite obvious. I am trying to politely say the office are dumb. It is the same extension where parents visit children. If you visit your child does immigration want pictures of the kid's bedroom, your ex-wife's saucepan, her bedroom complete with new boyfriend? I intend leaving the province in a few weeks so in reality they can have as many photos as they like. I do not think the 60 day extension is the same as non o married to a Thai as @DrJack54 posted. I am pretty sure the non-o wife visa requires 90 day reporting and if you changed provinces I assume the new office would take you through the whole process again - new photos of your home, your bedroom, kitchen etc. It would not just require a tm30 report. In my case I will change provinces for a little then head to the airport and as long as my new hotel registers a tm30 there is no problem. I have used this same extension before at another office with no requirements.
  11. I went for a 60 days to visit wife extension today at Trat Immigration. They require a list including a,map of where we live and a,series of photographs- our room, bed, the kitchen, the dog doing its business in the yard. I know different offices have different rules but found it amusing as we could just leave for another province tomorrow, file a new tm30 and be completely within the law.
  12. If you have any trouble ask the shop across the road for help. The tuk tuk driver took me there and they told me a non o multi entry was possible for 12000 b. No Financials needed.
  13. I think outsiders can use Aiyaree Place Hotel gym on a monthly fee basis. Is at the Hanuman fountain. It is only large enough for 1 person at a time.
  14. Thanks for all the replies. He has caught the bus to Pattaya then booked and is staying there instead of HH.
  15. I am at a hotel and a guest is asking if this ferry is still running. There, are countless online sites advertising tickets but am sure it is long gone. Just throwing it the mix to be 100% sure๐Ÿ˜
  16. I ended up buying the Thai equivalent Crocodil as was all they had in stocks. Will report if it works
  17. Thank you for your always good advice. Have ordered Flintkote no 3. ๐Ÿ˜
  18. Hi. Am in a remote location and had some local guys work on my pond. He seems a good renderer but not too sure about his waterproofing. The pond is large and I was having trouble keeping it clean so I had him build a wall across it and wanted to turn half of it into a sunken garden. Unfortunately it is leaking and I thought I had better buy him something to waterproof it retrospectively and ws hoping for some suggestions. Thank you for all advice past present and future
  19. I was thinking the filter should go after the pump as you have suggested. I was thinking of putting a filter on my washing machine as I often get red water. Was going to run from government water(underground)to tank. Tank to pump. Pump to filter. Filter to washing machine.
  20. I think @Brickleberry is trying to say how common and low class it is to go online and boast about your wealth. You seem to place a lot of importance on what 'class' you are but then call people 'whores' and 'losers' which seems more gutter class to me. It also shows a lot of ignorance of people living on pensions and also raises the question if you have so much financial knowledge why would you think it is wise money managing to have 400,000 k sitting in a Thai bank account gaining little interest. We are lucky to have a person of such wealth and class as you on our humble Savannakhet visa with no financial requirements thread but it is puzzling how such a successful businessman as you would have the time or be so bored as to be trolling a thread about people going to Savannakhet to get visas? You must have such an exciting life with your money and obvious deep interest in the Thai Immigration system
  21. Over time I felt sorry for @HammerMan needing to be the front for a business which seemed to have endless troubles with officials, covid, mechanical and other troubles. I know the Pattaya forum is full of friendly and caring people but from memory people seemed to condemn it before it even started. I thought it would be a great thing for the East Coast and would really open up tourism on the Cambodia/East Coast/ Southern Thailand route. Is a pity the government didn't support it. I sent one of my wife's customers on it and he thought it was great. To me it is interesting that the ferry companies on Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood are now running extra services to Cambodia and other destinations. If Sea Horse was running you could have traveled virtually from the Hat Lek border to Koh Samui with only a 2 hour land journey from Koh Chang to Sattahip.
