Yeah, an acid bath will really help raw, old concrete hold paint. Make sure there is no grease or oil on it before the acid.
Getting a good first coat down is critical. I would go with a good penetrating sealer for a first coat.
You should be able to keep an eye on the pond's Ph and get some base if you have to.
Thank you for the advice

Maybe the temples where you live are more compassionate, but in Chiang Mai I rarely see the temple dogs, unlike years past when there were many of them. Also, not all, but a large number of temples do have the signs prominently displayed saying "DON'T BRING YOUR UNWANTED PETS TO US."
You are in Chiang Mai. How do you know about pattaya temples? Thailand has speed limit signs everywhere but locals still drive at double the speed. Who cares about signs in Thailand? They just all do what they want

If it has already been painted, the acid wash makes little sense.
That said, it should be scrubbed clean, rinsed, loose paint scraped, wiped with acetone/thinner and scuffed-up.
What kind of paint are you going with?
Thanks for your reply. The floor has not been painted before. I think I will do the hydrochloric wash. It is just above my fish pond though so I will have to be careful I guess. I bought the paint a few weeks back and I am not where it is at present. It was TOA brand and about 700 baht for a 3.5 litre tin. It was specific concrete paint.

Temples are not equipped to handle stray dogs, and they have their own affairs to tend to. The days when temples took in stray animals are over. Please stop perpetuating this false narrative. Someplace must be found for the dogs, but it is definitely not the local temple.
It was not a serious suggestion. Regardless people dump unwanted pets at the temples so calling it a false narrative is untrue. Our local temple has many stray dogs. There are no signs deterring people from doing it.

A quick reminder that Thailand is all but a 3rd world country. Criminals are in this country from top to bottom. There are much, much bigger players than what this article is focussing on.
Pattaya has been run by one family for years. At present one member, a former mayor has run to Cambodia to escape prosecution.. This control has been going on for generations so it is hard to estimate the enormity of the money that has been siphoned off.

Is it necessary to do the hydrochloric acid wash. I was told by somebody to just paint it.
-
It is tradition to just dump them at the local temple.

I walk beach road most days and from walking street end to Central Festival there are rubbish bins every 30-40 metres. They only stop for the first half of beach road that they are re-paving so guess they haven't got around to putting them back yet.
Either way all the partying is walking street end and at 6am I've never seen so many drunk Thais which seem to be having a lot of harmless fun ???? Easier to blame it on foreigners I guess but I've seen only a few at that time of day
Here are the bins in case people missed them (they also have large blue bins spread out on beach road as well)
I have only been between Central and Soi 13 lately. Last year they seemed few and far between. Good to hear.

This is one of the negative effects of Thailand legalizing marijuana.. Stoners in the rain.

I can agree about Soi 6 but from posts on here what actually goes on in Gentlemens clubs, they are brothels where sex starved older men praying on mostly vulnerable young women forced into prostitution because they don’t have a decent education to find a real job.
Or they like having sex.

Slightly off topic but can anyone tell me how busy is the Khlong Yai Border Checkpoint on a Sunday afternoon heading into Cambodia ? and how long can I expect the process of crossing into Cambodia with a motorbike ? ( and I know the process can vary a lots from minute to minute )
The problem is entering Cambodia where they will try and charge you 1800 b instead of 30 usd. You can politely arguecthe point with them and they usually give in but it is an unpleasant start to your holiday. I would get an E visa which is still cheaper than 1800b at 40usd. You also save having a whole page of your passport used. You can go Psar Phrum to Battambang which has no scams

It typically depends on exactly how much time is remaining on the old visa. If it is only a few days, the consulate will usually agree to cancel the old visa, and give you a new one. If a new visa, replacing the old one, is issued, the old visa is ignored, and the the date of issue and duration normal.
Thank you Tim????

I am a nice person, I just thought you are giving away 3 months of a visa.
But I am sorry if I upset you..........????
I must have worded it wrong. I did not mean you were not a nice person. I just meant the person who gave me the answer would be nice.????

Why...? ????
Is the reason really relevant? If you bothered reading I said i would be in the area in October. Maybe it is inconvenient for me to go in February. Naturally I have a valid reason or I would not ask. I was hoping some nice person would answer.

My non o from Savannaket expires in November but I will be in the area in October. Does anybody know if I can go earlier than the date and if I do whether my visa will be from day of application or day of expiry of the old one. I do know I can do a border run and get another 90 days but am thinking about not using that option.

The Thais put crazy prices like 50 baht for things worth much more. When you enquire, knowing the initial price is too small, they state a price 40 plus times what they listed. I just wonder what logic makes them think this is an effective marketing strategy. They think byvwasting peoples time they can get a sale.

I sent them a message. They replied immediately, apologizing that they did not have a sailing timetable yet. At least somebody is still doing their Social Media

How about putting the food in bags as she stated was the procedure but instead of taking it home go outside and give it to those homeless Thais living on the streets I was in Bangkok in February and was astonished by the amount of people sleeping on the streets my heart went out to them there was a street food seller it was midnight I purchased all her food and told her to hand it out to those in her immediate area which she did as I watched her do it there area was a 5 minute walk from Soi Cowboy
Maybe that is why she took it. To give to somebody less fortunate.

Good grief... Phnom Penh? The blackguard can't even do a decent runner.
Mind you, wasn't his dad suspected of being in Cambodia for years after he was charged with murder only for it to be revealed that he'd been squatting in plain sight at the family pile in Chonburi most of the time? He even had local pooyai's and police chiefs attending his bloody birthday parties while the arrest warrant was ignored.
The Khunpluem's are one of the great untouchable Thai families. The small "independent" political parties they created in Chonburi were powerful and have been the lynchpin of several dodgy national administrations for decades including Thaksin's years at the helm. Itthipol's is brother Wittayu got a job in the Prayuth administration before being handed the Pattaya mayorship in 2018.
Just remembered that Sontaya's Chonburi political party already threw their hand in with PT before the recent election so, with PT now seated in the big chair, K. Itthiphol doesn't have to worry about anything. This is a window-washing exercise to save face for some "do you know who I am?" muppet in the NACC who is making a last grab for some brownie points.
Is it true that the present Mayor is a member of the same group if not one of the family. I thought they pay the most money for votes so keep on getting elected.
