Hi,
Many thanks for replying...that's great. In the past, for my partner to come to UK, I've used the summary page of my accounts printed of the web as well. When applying for an AO (retirement) visa in the past I had to supply original bank statements and have them notorised.
I recall reading somewhere that for non O (family) you needed to provide 6 mths originals showing £10k in account at all times, but cant find anything on the embassy website and nobody answering the phone.
Check out the link in post #3.

Hi. Thanks for the info. Can anyone tell me whether I have a non-O/A or non O? I have a retirement visa with everything done in Thailand?
If you converted a tourist visa to a 90 days Non-immigrant O at your local immigration office, then extended it 1 year based on retirement, then your extension is based on an initial Non-O Visa. If you check the Visa-stamp in your passport it will say Category "O" in the middle.

He only think that you are stupid as it is in the rental contract.
It's not always in the contract, so the question is not stupid.

"no quarantine in December when we expect 100,000 foreigners to want to come for 5-7 days."
Has any tourist ever come to Thailand for 5-7 days?? Chinese tourists stays maybe 10-14 days when they're coming on those group tours where everything is pre-arranged.

"I can not leave the ship to attend the embassy to get a visa."
Why can't you leave the ship? It will be very hard to get everything you need for the CoE if you can't leave the ship.

I spoke to immigration yesterday and that suggestion by the immigration chief is still waiting for cabinet approval. However, there is no list. You will qualify if did an extension with an embassy letter before September 26. I was told to keep watching the announcements and it should be approved in the next couple of weeks. Get another embassy letter if you can just to be safe.
"You will qualify if did an extension with an embassy letter before September 26."
You forgot if you paid the normal fee, ฿1,900 for the extension. Then you will hopefully qualify for the extra month.

"Offered in country:
Non o volunteer 15mo for 63k legit"
63k for 15 months sounds like a price at an agency. What do you mean by legit?

You don't think the number goes to immigration? Why don't you call the number and see who answers?

Chaeng Wattana immigration is the only office that requires 90 day reports being done to them as far as I know.
If the OP profile info is correct he is in Pattaya and it is not required there.
That's correct, you can even get a Resident Certificate there on a tourist visa.

Think you will find that you need to have done 90 day report
Edit. Just noticed "renew"
That depends on where you're staying in Thailand. Just because CW says you need to do a 90 days report, doesn't mean every immigration office requires it.

People have used one from a doctor here before. You just need to be sure the certificate issued meets the embassy's requirements.
Why would you use a doctor in Thailand when you can only obtain the O-A Visa in your home country and there's an official medical certificate form downloadable from every embassy website in the world? Please tell me!

Am I wrong, or is an O-A visa only issued by your home country and not in Thailand?
It's only issued in your home country. So every poster talking about using a doctor in Thailand is totally wrong.

Sounds like good advise. I might have been overthinking this I guess.
Will try your suggestion, thanks Chickenlegs!
Ps.: Yes, TM30 done. All by the books so far.
If you submitted the TM30, you must have used exactly same documents you need for the Resident Certificate.

Thanks for that. So i guess thats what will happen with me on Monday then. Either way I suppose it doesnt matter as I assume come the 06/10 ill technically be on amnesty again until they decide what date to give me.
You are on amnesty now. But you will hopefully get another month because you paid for it and the so called "stranded" tourists did not.

Oh ok, I was under the impression the amnesty was already published in the Royal Gazette. So what you mean is it wasnt in the official amnesty policy and only an idea which may or may not be implemented by immigration ?!
The official amnesty ends October 31. The extra month was suggested for people who applied and paid ฿1,900 for an extension before September 26. I haven't seen any official announcement yet, but I might have missed it, or something will happen later.

Apart from mom and pop stores.
What a joke this country is.
It's not October 1, it's October 2 until 00:00. It doesn't matter if some shops sell or not, they know it's illegal, but don't care. It has nothing to do with Thailand as a country.

The landlord isn’t a total crook, he’s just not interested in doing work on the house. The rent is comparatively small, and hasn’t gone up in the past 10 years. We have probably paid for the house by now.
We live in a row of 6 town houses which his family built, two never sold and he rented one for 5 years to a Filipino family, they got sick of his attitude and they moved out to a place around the corner, same size 7.5K month, they got their deposit back, he then renovated the house and rented to a Thai family who moved out a couple of days ago, the landlord showed up today, 1st month, weighed them out and then sped off before he had to speak with us.
I thank all for concern, we paid the deposit because we wanted a / the house, and they wouldn’t rent unless we paid it. Researching this topic today, I have seen the comments about deposits, maybe it was too much, but really, 25K, i would like it back, but it’s not going to break the bank. I can draw a key down his wing on the way out the gate and laugh.
The question isn’t if he is going to pay the deposit or interest ... has anyone else heard of interest on a deposit? It was news to me.
Why would there be an interest on a deposit that would benefit you?

Be wary of Bangkok banks debit card that is as useless as a chocolate teapot. K bank looks more progressive and in touch with Western banking..
The "official" reason Bangkok Bank went from a proper Visa Debit card to MasterCard TPN in November 2018, was the fees they had to pay to VISA. Another reason was Bank of Thailand, which proposed to every Thai bank to join the Thai Payment Network. Several banks did not go for it. There are even Visa TPN Debit cards and they work exactly like the MasterCard TPN,(or should I say don't work).

I was told differently by officers at CW and MTT. Both officers said the same thing that to apply for non imm O, i only need to have 400k proof and do not need to season for 2 months. Both of them suggested me to just borrow 400k a week before i request the non imm o visa.
It's 2 months prior to the application if we're talking about a 1 year extension based on marriage. That's what this thread is about, not an extension based on having Thai kids.

A useful pdf. Thanks. Three questions - our house outside the village doesn't have any name or number on show. It's simply known to Kerry as the Falang house with five dogs, and the postman is a family member. Could that be a problem?
Second, on photos in and around the house, how do they know it's our house? Is there actually a point to this?
Third and re the 400K, why do they need both a copy of the updated passbook and a letter from the bank? What does the letter have to say that the passbook doesn't already show?
Better to ask you than ask immigration and p***ing them off by asking them questions they have no sensible answer for. As far as I know, anyway. I stand ready to be educated as to the wisdom of their demands.

"Second, on photos in and around the house, how do they know it's our house? Is there actually a point to this?"
One photo has to show you and your wife next to the house number. That house number will be in one of your documents, probably in the house book.
2)
The bank letter (also known as a bank guarantee) which is stamped and signed verifies that the account belongs to you.
3)
Immigration doesn't care the least about your personal view about their sometimes strange demands.

The amnesty expires October 31, but people that paid ฿1,900 for an extension before September 26 will get another month = November 30. They have to visit the local immigration office to get the correct stamp in the passport.

Updated status regarding procedure for Tm28 / Tm 30
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
The short version:
You can travel in Thailand and it doesn't matter where you stay as long as you come back to your last reported address. It should even work if you come back from abroad. Do your 90 days reports as usual and you're back on track. But if you move permanently to another province, you'll need to submit a TM30 at the new local immigration.
