  2. All the visas and stamps that I got over the 4 years were completely legit. It's been around 30 visas/stamps in total

  4. Are you nuts? Everything perfectly legal, never overstayed a single day
  5. I don't understand, why do they need this crap where there is legal weed?
  6. I'm talking about food from supermarkets. It's definitely more expensive. If you eat crappy street food, maybe it's cheaper. Unless they don't scam and overcharge you, as they like to do with stupid foreigners haha
  7. A lot of goods in Vietnam are imported from Thailand. How can they be cheaper??
  8. When I was in Vietnam before covid, it was already more expensive than Thailand (except booze and cigarettes of course). Food in supermarkets is easily 50% more expensive. Fish, fruit, juice, milk etc. Clothes, electronics are more expensive too.

  13. Yep. Thailand is better even visa-wise. I'm not retired, but I've been in Thailand 4 years straight on tourists visas and exemptions.
  14. Booze and cigarettes are cheaper, for sure. If you are a heavy drinker and smoker, you can save a lot. But almost everything else is more expensive - from food in supermarkets to clothes to electronics.
  15. I'm not even talking about the complete lack of expat/retiree infrastructure
  16. From my experience, Vietnam is more expensive than Thailand. Especially it's hard to beat Pattaya which is the cheapest of the cheapest
  17. In fact, tourists are encouraged to buy condos in Thailand. So many condos are advertised specifically to target tourists.
  18. If you read older topics, they already said it was hard to open accounts for tourists (excluding Bangkok Bank of course). Here's a topic from 2017:
  19. Btw, how did your friend manage to open a Krungthai account without a long-term visa?
