  1. Everything that can hold water is being used around here but still more rain coming.  Last 2 month rainfall has been OK. The dam is full and there is a dip at the Northend where the water can go in and out...and so can the fish so I have made a...barrier of sorts with a 5L plastic bottle and some netting to stop the fish going out but let the little ones in will sow some scrap steel to the bottom to stop them ducking under.

The wife is still doing mangoes...not much choice really!  I think it will be another krap year.  Some local growers are selling Si Tong Gold mangoes, but it's 5 boxes here, 5 boxes there.  Down at Granny Block I put up a trellis to grow grapes as an experiment but we aren't getting enough sun for the vines at the mo.  Put on hold the greenhouse.

It's a weird situation.  I moved all my money to a secondary bank account because ING was giving me some krap about where I live so it all went to Rabo Direct.  ING wanted this and that....and I told them to go take a hike!  But....and it's a BIG BUT....I didn't know they wouldn't transfer money from my account to my son...or anyone else. Only transfer to another account in my name!  What the ell!  My son normally does my transfers. So, I have been living off my money I have here.  I still have my 400.000 in the bank 12 month account and 80.000 for a medical emergency in another 6 month acc.  But my daily account was disappearing fast!  My Aussie government pension was first paid in to Australian account but as of 26th Oct now paid into Bangkok bank which is a help.  But that's not the end of it!  Rabo Direct are not going to co-operate at all in moving my money to me here in LOS, and despite the fact I told them I live here and cannot go home as I normally do they won't pay my money into my sons account at ING.  So it looks like we will be on a budget till the Financial Industry Ombudsman can deal with the matter.

For those who like to help. Food and money donations will greatfully be accepted.  If your sending wine in a food basket one red and one white please or just a bottle of muscat will suffice. No beer needed thanks.

Oh when i was a young man in the UK I put these bulls to Friesian x Ayrshire  cows - one of the first in my area most people were reluctant to try them ???? not sure if the semen is available in Thailand but will make enquiries when I arrive. I have quite a few ideas but need to scope things out when i actually arrive in Thailand. Maybe in 10 years i will just happen to be in right mode at the right time again ????

Woodleigh Zircon - Outstanding new 3 year old herd sire

Beautiful animal the Basidaise.  Put it over a Friesian and they would make beautiful offspring.

One man's sedition is another 68 millions freedom

I don't think a large portion of the population would consider the current government legitimate....but what can they do?  Complain and grumble in the village endlessly as no one has the power or the right tools to remove the usurpers.

  4. She look familiar???   About 10 years ago I was having an evening coffee and and ice-cream at a little place I frequented in Walking Street which was ideal for sitting and watching the passing parade and along comes this scruffy looking girly who was a shorty, small just the way I like them, and as soon as she walks on to the sewer grate squats down and does a peee! Well, as much as I enjoy spending time with girlies that aren't into underwear I do like them to pretend they are lady like.  So I went back to watching the passing parade.  She of the big mouth definitely looks familiar.  ????

  5. To steal a term from the share market guys it could be "a dead cat bounce"  and next reporting period it's back to double digits.  Take rice for example: Thai rice is dearer than rice from India, Vietnam and Myanmar.  So with people on tight budgets how much longer do you think Thai rice will sell when the rice from those other countries can be as good and cheaper?

In Australia it's tough going for a lot of people, especially Victoria.  My son who works in the construction industry estimates a lot of big projects will be finished by next Easter.  Condo construction has already ground to a halt.  Maybe there will be 70% unemployed in construction by Easter.  So, given auto sales are way down already there is a large group of guys who will not be buying the new Revo or Ranger next year.  So the orders for Thai made pickups will plummet!

All across the board Thai industry is yet to see the worst of it...well that's my prediction for 2021.

Then the problem seems to be how enforce the gun laws to prevent criminals from buying guns.

I think a lot of the gun transactions are from other criminals...but there must be a good number using stolen ID.  And of course criminals steal guns...in robberies and such.  When I was a kid...in Stralia, was not unusual to see guys with a rifle slung over their back bicycling out to hunt rabbits.  Dad had a gun rack in the old (not then!) FJ ute with a .22 Brno almost permanently in place.  Sometimes his .303.  For crow control in lambing season he had a .222 Winchester Model 70.  He would cycle out to the lambing paddock before sun-up with a hide...bit like the material used in a Ghillie suit but throw over like a blanket.  He would remain in the one place all day, some days, and on others until the crows departed!  Still lost some lambs.  The crows favourite meal was to pick out the young lambs eyes...if he wasn't there.

Just imagine how safe America would be if they ALL had guns and could carry their guns ALL the time where ever they went.

That is the logical extension isn't it?

A veiled attempt at sarcasm surely.  But in states or counties that have better gun laws and much better carry laws the amount of crime is lower than states or counties that have very strict gun laws.

PS:  Criminals seem to have no trouble getting guns.  And no background checks

  8. I know the complete story.  The cleaner knocked the crystal ball off it's perch it rolled across the floor and hit the wall and is now out of alignment.  The cleaner fearing getting fired from her 300 baht a day job put it back on it's perch and said nothing.  So all their predictions are out of kilter with reality.   Zender the witch is not due to come in for the annual realignment ceremony till June next year.  This gives the cleaner plenty of time to find another job as Zender the witch will know all...a bit like Prayuth! ????

There were a lot of naysayers on here crapping on the Chinese-Laos high speed rail line. Well to their disappointment it is now almost complete.

I always took the point of view "What's in it for the Thai people?"  I mean the masses not just the well healed at the top.

State Rail may be flawed as an organisation but they get you there even if it's slower.  220 baht from the Malaysian border to Bangkok.  If somchai rode his Wave the same trip would cost 600 baht in benzine and take just as long!

And the 64.000 baht question:  Will it ever make a profit?   As a passenger only service that will be a tough job!

We can only hope that it will be safe for all that do travel on the trains.

Because something was present during those decades that most obviously isn't now.

Without it the old play doesn't work.

There will be no "restraint"........ultimately none from either side.

    That's all that's certain.

    It's as simple as that.

That is so true!  My wife didn't put it this way (as I will) as they don't seem to have a devil in buddhism like christians do, but the fact is 'The devil is working his evil, so evil is at play at a high level'.  She wants the evil gone and all the associated evil to be gone with it!

sadly,  another casualty due to global economic downturn ....  we have seen this happen worldwide even before COVID came along. Less and less people want to venture out into the shops anymore .... they prefer to buy online and have everything from furniture, household goods to groceries delivered to their door.  Times have changed,  people don't want to see people anymore, or talk to people anymore as there are too many nutcases running around these days.   imo

There is a few nutcases posting on TVF...not that I am implying anything by that just pointing out nutcases are everywhere. ????

Good lord you guys should listen to yourselves?

Professional riders? Oh so foreigners are in the RTP on motorway patrol?

Nobody posting on here was young and stupid?

Never kick started a 1800cc bike. Who the <deleted> rides a 1800cc bike? Are they used for pulling stumps or for people who have a phallic problem?

What about bikes with less than 400cc that produce more than 35 Kw?

..and no one on here is actually responsible for road safety. Just chill and enjoy the sunshine and palm trees.

Mate steady up on those of us who enjoy riding 1800cc V twins.  Kick starting not necessary when you have an electric leg and 12V battery.  Don't know about pulling stumps, pulling little cuties....  I always thought it was my good looks....but.....  Phallic problem?  I thought that was restricted to the past with all the medical help available today!  ????

They keep on saying reservoirs are not full and in a drought. Never can get straight information here.

With water level at 99% out of a 100% can be considered not full.  But your right the weather department has a long way to go to match the quality of weather departments in other countries.  Sticking your head out the window before making a report is 18th century stuff!  And more weather recording stations would be handy.
