The quota is 60-70 tonnes, which attracts 27% tarrif. Where does the 70,000 tonnes come from? It attracts 57% tariffs. Sounds like a government winner to me. And if 'more than 25,000' Thai farmers can only produce 80,000 tonnes, they do seem to have an issue. A bit like their rice harvest being less productive than Vietnam.

And only 13 days left of the decade...

If it were possible to order stuff online that was made in Thailand, I would. But it appears all the stuff I order is made in China.

If an MP is fired from a party, it does not invalidate the fact that he/she is still an MP. They become Independent or join another party within 30 days. No one voted for the party, they voted for the person.

Is it really helpful to compare prices? Perhaps. Comparing prices in Romania with those in Germany, for example? Or perhaps Singapore with Moldova.
Perhaps franchisees are required to keep prices high, for Branding purposes. I don't know, I'm not a franchisee. I do know there is a difference in price, in the KFC in Tesco Lotus and Big C in Si Saket, for what appears to be the same meal. Except in Big C, they use card boxes, plastic cutlery and paper cups and free refills. In Tesco Lotus, square plastic plates, metal cutlery and glasses for the drinks.
I prefer Amazon coffee shops in PTT...

I have danced (badly I might add) at weddings and funerals. No Thais have criticised the fact that I'm dancing, only laughing that I'm so bad.
Never felt the need to put my dancing online. Then I guess, I'm an old fart.

Surely if it has a duty paid sticker, it's not duty free?

People will drive as fast or as slow as they wish. There is no monitor for going too slowly and driving a car over the white line marking the motorbike lanes. There are few speed cameras on the highways and minor roads and none by schools. No police to be seen anywhere policing the traffic laws where I live except perhaps during festivals.
120kph limit is good, as long as there are no U turns from and into the outside lanes. Traffic slowing for U turns can be as bad as those already turning. In Ubon, near Central, 4 abreast through the U turn sometimes, never mind oncoming traffic.

Wow. Look at us, we've got companies to offer you a Christmas/New Year sale.
The government offers nothing, the companies are offering the sale.
Government should govern, businesses should conduct business.

Will Central's prices be reduced to reflect them not paying for the sbuttles, or the fact that tourists have to pay for taxis now?

Polls are rubbish, the betting sites are the best place to see more accurate info.

They had no difficulty getting work permits, or 4 Thais for each French person?

A representative democracy in action.
In the UK, most MPs are normally members of a party but can vote against party instructions with varying degrees of punishment to be expected.
There are free votes, where MPs may vote with their conscience right up to 3 line whips, where, if you go against the whip, you can have it removed. Basically, you're fired. If that's what happens here, I understand it.
If you vote contrary to party instructions you must expect the consequences. Even if you vote with your conscience. It's what being a party member is all about. If you can't do what the party tells you, don't join it.

According to Worldatlas, road deaths account for 26000 deaths per year. In 2010, according to the Chiangrai Times, 58000 died of cancer. That's an awful Lot of people dying by those causes.

Who's going to be brave enough to take it court? She quit. Presumably she knew the rules and the constitution of the committee and the reason for calling the committee at that time. She quit because she says the committee rules were broken. I suggest she is complicit in the rule breaking, quitting after the fact. I thought servitude in Thailand was a way of life.....

Bizzare idea. Give money to people, some of whom you've taken it from and tell them to spend it. In the UK this would probably end up paying credit card debt and thus not stimulate the economy.
Nice to know it's tax exempt though.
Sometimes I do wonder how the Thai government has any tax revenue. I never see anyone where I stay 'working' for money...

'Stick his submarine where it hurts' is implicit. It can be interpreted as anywhere that would hurt, not necessarily to 'sodomise'. 'Pedo guy' is explicit. No interpretation is required. The 2 statements are not the same and would not have the same reputational outcome.
As to the jury question regarding an opinion of those who visit Thailand, I would respectfully suggest that most of them wouldn't know what or where Thailand is.

Let it die. Flag carriers competing with low cost carriers never works. Have a look in Milan, Easyjet air force runs it.

When I (English, born and bred 35 miles southwest of London) arrived in Thailand on an O-A, the village headman suggested to the wife I taught basic English to the kids here. I had to remind the wife to say that I wasn't allowed to do anything that the immigration authorities thought looked like work. Regretably, this was also the answer I had to give to the wife's cousin who is head English teacher in the local high school. In addition to that, I don't have the qualifications to 'teach', no degree, just 44 years in the Aviation industry, 25 of those as an instructor and a TEFL qualification and 60 years of RP.

Whilst a drop in the ocean with regards to stray dogs and cats, the Organisation should be praised for what they do. Someone cares.
The problem is, 1 fertile bitch can have numerous litters of numerous pups. Those pups can have numerous litters ad infinitum. It seems that no matter what the Charity does, it's work will never be completed.

Energy policy panel approves investments in community power plants
in Thailand News
Posted
Confused? Joint venture between the private sector and state organisations under 60:90 proportional investment. making 150... Presumably percentage ownership...
Presumably, it's a maximum of 10 megawatts for each powerplant, contributing up to 700 megawatts. The article talks about the price to be paid to the powerplants, but not the charges to be made to the consumer. 5.3727 baht per unit for electricity generated by biogas? Sounds like the business to be in.
