  1. I'm gonna nominate the 1930s and 1940s as way crazier than current times. I bet someone who has studied history thoroughly would have other candidates as well.
  2. Actually a great benefit that I can find in reading ASEAN Now is the fellows who provide a bad example. The ones who allow me to say, "I don't want to act like them". Wise asses, haters, nit-pickers, what have you. A significant number of helpful people here but you can always count on the ones who aren't useless simply because they can serve as a bad example.
  3. "USD to THB - any advice on if US Dollar might get any stronger?" Yes, I can say categorically, it might.
  4. "I know one guy ..." Sorry, but for a person who seems to have something like an obsession about this issue.... I don't consider your "I know one guy..." as an example for proof of your own argument.
  5. "that probably what happened" Yeah, that's probably it.
  6. It only requires one example of an individual being prosecuted, deported, fined, beheaded etc. to prove the point you put forward. Not possible to give one example ofno problems to prove that no one has had a problem. So it would seem that the burden of proof lies with those stating that there is a risk associated with using an agent. And it seems there isn't.
  7. Yes and the nerve of some people wanting their stuff back. All those artistic artifacts, we have those for safe keeping. The former owners can come to our museums and see them anytime. Wow, there's a business idea. Organize tours from Cairo, Athens, Lagos: Come to New York or London to see your nation's priceless cultural artifacts. So yes, point taken.
  8. I like it. 40 baht to the dollar was the exchange rate when I first visited Thailand, if it gets to that point again I won't complain. I do wonder about: "The sliding baht fell to below 37 to the US dollar, a key psychological barrier, raising speculation that it could further weaken to 40 per dollar." If multiple factors determine the exchange rate, whose psychology is at play in passing a psychological barrier? Not a rhetorical question, I really wonder about this.
  9. Drinking and riding? Not certain but probable if he was coming from a pub. As someone has said already, sober riders rarely fall off the bike.
