  1. i'm a singaporean, looks from the case that when you're in your home country, you wouldnt have much problems recieving tourist visas?

so for me i could arrive in bangkok with a single 60days, and after the extention carry on with border runs, after which i can just return to my country (not that far and cheap if planned ahead with budget airlines) to get a tourist visa.

am i right on that ?

  2. Just bring your passport, wife ID and house registration book to the hospital administration office, they will certify the place of birth with a letter, thereafter register and apply your child birth certificate at the district office where you reside.

This is how I done it for my children and the procedure it quite easy for you to handle.

Congratulation and good luck for your family new member arrival!

is the house registration book compulsory ? what if both me and my spouse are not thai nationals but birthed in thailand?

and we stay in a rented apartment so i dont think we have any house registration book...

I'm singaporean and definately i dont think i have one.

my spouse's burmese so i think you prolly meant her book ?

To obtain Thai citizenship for your children, either you or your wife must be a Thai.

For non Thai citizens, its better you check with Thai relevant authorities concerning your child birth status. This topic may have been covers somewhere here. Good luck.

i understand, maybe i put it across wrongly. what i meant was, if my wife happen to deliver in thailand, what must i prepare for the hospital's administration ? they gotta give me a birth cert even if we arent thai citizens right ? LOL :o

  4. That IS the problem right now.. it hasn't been tested.. I am egarly waiting to see anyone's first hand experience with what happens when their 60+30day tourist visa (issued after Oct 1st) expires and then they try to go to like the Cambodian border for example, and then try to come back in same day with a 30day visa exempt stamp... I am in this 'lab rat' group because I am here on a tourist visa that was activated when I arrived on the 17th of October... I have nightmares of being stranded in Poi Pet and not being allowed back into Thailand.. and I have to rinse and repeat (ie. border run) 3 times to get me to March 2007 when I want to leave Thailand.

Really eagar to see what will happen but it will be too late for me anyway I guess; being in this pioneering group.

den remmebr to post here becuz i'll be 1 of them tt will step in in decemember..

  5. You are not married to a Thai and don't have a work permit so my guess is you will not find a non immigrant visa anywhere close.

    now im really lost.

can we actually get a non imm o being single?

I earn money offshore (not much but enough)

I dont have a relationship with a thai lady

I am single and no children

I dont hold a job nor a WP.

what can i do to get a non-o?

with my budget of livlihood, getting a tourist visa for 3 months and den doing the 3 visa runs @ borders, and leaving thailand to get another 3months tourist visa (not even proven might work, just speculation) is really not my choice.

  6. A pohotcopy of my girl friends pasport was all it took for me to get a 1 year non O from Brisbane last year. I do believe a letter from a friend or girlfriend would be enough, if you also provided copies of their ID card and passport if they have one. Obviously the more doccuments you can give, the easier it will be. If you know a girl you fairly trust, and she will provide you copies of her doccuments and a letter, you could put on the application for going to stay with your fiance, that is how I did it in the past.

Singapore will still issue 1 year Non O's in this region, but also try Brisbane in Australia if your a westerner, they are pretty relaxed. Always call ahead or e-mail the embassy just to be safe. Good Luck!

u dont have to produce a marriage cert/documents?

  7. Here is the reply from the Thail Consulate in HK that is interpreting the 90day in 6 month rule.

The new policiy is used for tourists to stay not exceeding 90 days

within 6 month period. Either the tourists use their free access visa or tourist visa, they are all counted together. For example, you entered the kingdom by the free accees visa for your first trip and you stayed 30 days. Then, you applied for a tourist visa(60 days) at a consulate and stayed

for the whole period(60 days). You will be rejected to enter the

kingdom for your next trip as your quota has been used up.

Not saying this is the end all be all, but this is the interpretation by the HK Thai Consulate.

omg if this is true, this really sucks to the core. in that case we might as well just visa run and ignore the tourist visa fees.

  8. I was wondering, as i looked in the various sections in TV but cant find any information.

Im a singaporean and i have a shan gf, we might be having a child in thailand bangkok but i wonder as both of us arent thai citizens, what would the nationality of the child be ?

both of us arent legally registered yet thoug.

  9. Q. How to apply for a re-entry permit?

    A. In the case where an alien who holds any kind of visas for stay in the Kingdom wishes to travel abroad before his/her visa expires, the alien must apply for a re-entry permit. A re-entry permit allows the alien to re-enter the Kingdom and use the time remaining on his/her visa. If a re-entry permit is not applied for, the visa will automatically be cancelled at departure, although it may not have expired yet.

is this what i should be doing?

1st- apply for a myanmar tourist visa and a thai tourist visa b4 leaving my home country

2nd- when i reach thailand airport, procede to get a re-entry (do i do this once i reach or only when i about to leave?)

3rd- after my 1month trip in myanmar, i return and recieve a stamp to continue my 60days visa in thailand

4th- when my 60days is approaching, proceed to the immigration and get an extention. (when MUST i go to get an extention? nearing 60days? or wad?)

5th- after my total of 90days in thailand with a visa, proceed with the monthly visaruns (3 times)

am i doing it all right or totally wrong ?

  10. Tourist visas are normally single entry but there are also two and three entry. If you have a two entry and stay 3 days the second entry will be used for a return and you will get a new 60 day stamp.

and after my 2nd entry, am i able to extend it further?

what would be my next best step to stay in thailand?

  11. if you enter Thailand using the tourist visa .... it will be finished when you leave Thailand.

a 2 entry would be better for you

hello thanks for all the help.

How many types of tourist visas are there? single-entry and double-entry only ?

with double-entry, does it mean tat when i reach thailand for the 1st time, and after 3 days later i leave for myanmar, and when i come back i will continue the visa for the next 57days?

what would be the documents i will require and what are the fees?

sorry about all these questions, its the 1st time im getting the visa

  12. I'm posting here bcuz of visa issues, instead in travel forum. hope for some good advice here

I am planing on a trip to Kengtung, prolly staying 1 month after which i will return to Thailand to stay longterm

now, i am a singaporean, before i leave for myanmar, i would need to get the myanmar visa, now comes the problem, i am thinking of getting the thai tourist visa as well, as i will be travelling into Kengtung from Maesai border. after which 1 month later i will be back in thailand via the same route.

my qn is, will my tourist visa(thai) still be valid? considering i only spend 3days in thailand b4 i enter the borders and stay in myanmar for 1 month ?

i am planing to stay in thailand for long term which i rendered getting a tourist visa 1st + 2 extention , only then i will proceed to do the monthly border runs for 90days. instead of the other way round.

    can someone advice me?

is the anywhere i can purchase a tourist visa in thailand, or i would have to travel outside to purchase?

    thanks a million

  13. just checking, there's a myanmar embassy in wireless road (bangkok)

can i proceed there to purchase my 28day visa?

    i'm singaporean

Yes - you can and they will issue Singapore citizens with a travel vis ato Myanmar in Bkk.

Could be wrong - but are the visas not issued by the consular section on Sathorn Road - not Wireless Road.

    Tim

hi, thanks for the reply, can u advice me on the correct address please?

  14. i am currently in thailand residing, and would like to purchase the myanmar 28day visa for travel to other parts of myanmar other den the border town which borderpass's only allowing up to mongla.

however im not a thai, im a singaporean on tourist visa, where can i go to in thailand to apply for the myanmar 28day visa?

I would have thought that this would be fairly elementary, but seeing as that it is not, either go to a travel agent (I guess that you might be buying a ticket to go there) and they will arrange a visa or go direct to the Burmese Embassy in BKK.

thanks guys for the info, i wont be flying into myanmar, will be stepping across from the borders in maesai and move off from there, dont wanna hold the border pass cuz they hold my passport

  15. Hi i am a singaporean also , i heard something about it some time ago .

you got to pay something like 100 usd or seomthing to apply for it .

if i come across it again i drop you a message .

    - you might wanna try . chaingmai law . ( search chaingmai LAW on yahoo .

there is a website that talk about Visa also . might have some info

i do know i can purchase my visa from my country @ about 20usd, but i was wondering if i were on a tourist visa in thailand and decides to go myanmar, i would need to purchase a visa from thailand, which im not sure if that's available

  16. and also i read in chiangmailaw that if she is a Hmong or Shan, marriage is not rcognised in thai law, but why would her marriage be granted back den ?

Actually it's not recognized by Burmese law, not Thai law. Because of the complexity of this I must re-iterate, contact a lawyer. You may just need to pay a consult fee to get your answer and probably won't be expensive unless you decide to use him to go to court with.

what if i register my marriage with her in my home country sinagpore?

    would that be any problem?
