  1. Thanks Tod for your kind words, our school is indeed promoting Thai language and culture. As you rightly say most students enjoy their studies. We are also very happy to help with visas and there is nothing wrong with helping students to obtain them.

It is interesting that Thai visas may not look the same, sometimes it is a sticker, sometimes a stamp, even different consulates in the same country may issue diffenrent looking visas. Here are 3 examples from Coral Gables in Florida, Washington D.C. and from Geneva.

To all the students: do not forget about the student party on the 21st! The alcohol can be served, we have already checked it.

nice party mac:) are we gonna have some pictures?

  2. OK. Singapore obviously has much more paperwork requirements than many other countries. I did not see any requirement to have your documents registered with the MFA in Singapore (or did I miss that among all the others) but if there are it most likely means they will be presented to Thai authorities along with your Embassy letter and have to be translated/registered here also. It appears you present this laundry list of items to your Embassy and they will then issue you the letter that is required by Thai authorities and you translate/register that as your final step before visiting the District Office for registration of marriage.

yes, i called the embassy and spoke to a mr chee, he confirms that we (singaporeans) require EVERY single clause and documents in order for them to issue me the affidavit.

as i already have the documents now in singapore, my next step is to bring it to them (originals would suffice, no need to endorsed by singapore's MFA) but again i was wondering if it;s possible to get to the embassy to get the affidavit, get the affidavit translated and den endorsed by the MFA all in a same day? anyone tried?

the embassy told me they didnt have a list of autorised translators so i would have to get my own. anyone has a recommandation, that is near to either the embassy or MFA.

    thanks!

  3. thank you PattayaParent, i guess that is what i need.

Typing a email to them as i reply you, can they understand english? LOL, just in case they do not even check thier inbox, i believe u have used them before and how is thier reponse via internet?

The boss man's English is good but his wife who sits in the shop and answers the landline 'phone hardly speaks any, so I gave you his mobile numnber too.

They always respond by email to confirm. I used to email them from overseas and tell them my flight number and arrival times at BKK and they were always there to pick me.

ouch, he quoted me 1500thb for a taxi o_O

i thought the going rate was 900-1000 for 1 way?

    correct me if im wrong

  4. helo, i am going on a trip with my gfs and buddies, total about 5 persons, and we're thinking 5 persons might be a big squeeze in a cab towards pattaya from bangkok.

we're not so into taking the bus either cuz we're going over for the weekend. any suggestions or do u know any number where we can geta taxi that is bigger like a MPV?

  5. i do have here with me an attachment which was a list of documents provided by the Singapore Embassy in bangkok.

however im unable to attach it right now (office computor's restriction)

i'll post it up here once i get back from work :o

PS: that also where i got that question about the Certification of No Criminal conviction, which left a few TVster lost

    will post it up later.

  6. Hi guys sorry to hijack, but i think it's related.

Im also regstering my marriage here in thailand and i already have a affirmation of marriage, but i was told i am required to produce a Certificate of No-criminal Offence Certificate from my home country, and here i searched for the application conditions.

    http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/cert_issued.htm

1 of the points mentioned :

    >>

Documentary proof from the immigration authority requiring the certificate. (A print out of the application requirements is not acceptable.)

now im lost here, how or where do i actually get a document(if there's such) and what do i say?

any help would be much appreciated :o

  7. Hi there fellow singaporean :o

@ prakanong, heh you're not too far away from "thailand" from where u work :D

@tijani: like many other posters here, i would recommand sunbelt asia too, they specialise on serveral fields so i believe they will be able to give u pretty good advises :D

    I am not Singaporean - English :D

I work in Singapore - used to work in Thailand though

Prak, I think Jetzie is referring to Golden Mile aka 'Little Thailand' on the Beach Rd ... of course, I could be wrong though :D

Bingo! although i really dont like the image Golden mile is currently protraying...

  8. how about getting married in Yangon or where the guy is from?

getting it certified and endorsed back in thailand might be an easier option?

im not sure tt might work but tts wad im doing.

I'm marrying my shan girlfriend in Thailand although im holding a singaporean citizenship. reason why im doing tt instead of getting married in Singapore itself is prolly the same reason as yours. she;s studying here and it's easier getting it done in thailand den she coming to singapore and waiting it out.

  9. Any one has similar experiences of sort?

my girl went up maesai from bangkok and has on hand 2 lines (1 was truemove and the other DTAC)

funnything is when i call her on the truemove line, the reception was either really bad or cant connect, while the DTAC line was perfectly fine.

is it due to truemove focused on bangkok itself or wad?
