Might want to research before you reply. Not to be harsh by any means, but a lot of people know very little of what goes on there besides videos. If you get arrested and convicted, it's a crime, and on your record, unless you're a juvenile. Those records are usually sealed for non violent crimes. Paying a fine means prosecuting that crime.

It's always a crime to shoplift anywhere in the US. It's a misdemeanor under $950. You can get 6 months in jail, a $1000 fine or both. Any prior convictions the prosecutor can make it a felony charge. Like another has mentioned, butt the truth is a whole lot different than what people think goes on there.
-
Again, not living there you would only guess. People are arrested daily, all day long, all year long, for every crime imaginable. Depending on the severity of the crime, many will get probation. Doesn't mean they won't be arrested. Prisons are full but this doesn't mean punishment is lax. Those with a first offense usually get probation, supervised. Not let go with a 1000 baht fine with a wai. People guess all kinds of things about the US, without knowing much of anything besides what they see on the news.

Videos, which are usually posted by citizens, don't show anywhere near the real picture there. Crime is high yes,but also punishment. There is bail for most all offenses, and if you raise it, you're released, same as most anywhere. The difference here is the lack of enforcement of many crimes, and the weak punishment, as we've seen all along. People who don't live in the US don't know the whole picture and only go by a few news clippings and those videos.

I questioned that when I came here and saw my ex mother in law just getting daily shots without being checked but once a month.

Type 1. Mother in law 1, ex wife 2, brother was 1.

Diabetics can be lean and small. My son has it at 35, and always took care of himself and still does. I taught all my children good eating habits since birth, yet he got it because it's in our family genes. My brother died from a heart attack at 67, my age now, brought on by being diabetic and not losing weight like he was told. He was always in shape until later when he spent too much time on his computer, loved to eat, mostly healthy but a lot. My ex, along with most of her family of 12, has it. Her mom has shots daily, and weighs maybe 80 pounds. My ex has it, and maybe weighs 115 at 5'4". My aunt died from it. I've eaten very lean all my life, still do, and worked out from age 17 till now. I took a blood sugar test last time I visited my family last November, and it was 88 twice, so it's not in me by that evidence. Thailand has a major problem in it's rice consumption, and the last couple decades it's risen, and a lot of this is because of the rice and the sugar drinks they consume. Rice is okay but not every meal, every day, especially if you're prone to diabetes, yet it's the country's staple food. Add to this the mama noodles, which are eaten like crazy as we all know. High carbs, high sugar,, eventually less exercise is a country with rising diabetes cases and obesity.

Evidence of a creator is a better explanation than it happened from nothing, which is what non believers believe. You cannot prove God doesn't exist so my grasp of what evidence is could be exact. You said, "You don't seem to understand what evidence is", so I came back with what I said about you assuming you know me. We will find out when we die, so maybe it's best not to argue religion and such. I, and other believers, not only go by faith but by the miracles of life around us. My statement there is no way everything came to be without a creator makes sense.
-
No, you assumed I didn't know what evidence means. I do. Atheism is a lack of belief in God, or any gods for that matter. I also knew this in Catholic school, more than 55 years ago. It's not for a lack of evidence but a belief, for a number of personal reasons. I mentioned these reasons before. many are forced to learn about God, which turns some away. Many are taught by abusive parents, which also turns them away because if your parents are abusive to you, how can you trust what they say. Others lose faith because how can a loving God make diseases and they see family and friends die and blame God for it, then they stop believing in God because no God would do this, not realizing we all die and some die for no apparent reasons other than bad luck, succumbing to some disease which they believe shouldn't be here, and too young. I have no answer to this besides that. We all die, and no matter if we live to 110 or 10 months, we still die and what comes next? Forever is a long time. Some think all there is is blackness. Believers think differently. I don't have to give God your regards. You and I and everyone else will meet him someday.

Free will sure did a number on us, although it was necessary.

Please don't assume, like others do here, what I do or don't know, because it's far above your learning ability. I love when they try to teach you, when you knew what they're trying to teach 50 plus years ago. Romper room.

Hard for us to fathom that he was always here but again, it's God.

Human existence, along with all other species, plants, earth, planets, solar system, universe, are all evidence of a creator. Natural occurring events by what else? A big explosion that created all this diversity, out of nowhere? There is no evidence that this all happened by itself, so you believe what you want, and we all meet God, so you can explain it to him when you see him. Tell him fredwiggy tried.

Besides what you've seen everyday of your life, no.

I'm not "inflicting" my opinions. I'm telling my beliefs. If you don't want to hear them, don't read or comment.

I don't go door to door , handing out pamphlets. I say what I need to say, and don't force what I believe on others. When a person gets to adult years, with all that's around as far as belief in God, and they turn against it, there's a reason. No scientist or anyone else has any proof God doesn't exist, so it's usually ,like said before, that someone the person trusted either forced religion down their throats in an abusive or forceful way, threatening them, or they lost a friend or family member way too young for some stupid disease and ask, if there's a God, why does he allow this, along with all the other bad things that happen to people. We aren't meant to last forever, and there's a reason for that. Life after death. Yes, I think everyone should live a long, healthy and happy life, but if we did, we wouldn't have a need for God, especially if he doesn't yet show himself.

I can say the same for you. I don't know who or what swayed you away from God but obviously you believe someone who's told you there isn't a God. This also without proof. When a monk tells you something after he's been declared dead for a few days, it means something. A monk usually doesn't believe in God, so when he says he saw Buddha in hell, it could be true. Maybe he made the story up for some reason, but why?
-
It's a Christians job to spread the word. Not a fanatic like Jehovah's Witnesses. I can't tell you about heaven because I'm still here. Neither can you tell me what happens after you die. All we can go in is either faith, or seeing how many people have been brain dead and came back, telling us a little what they saw, and some of this was children who saw things they couldn't have known anything about. There is even a video about a Myanmar monk who was dead for a few days and came back, saying he went to hell and saw Buddha there., among other Buddhists. You can google it.

Same here, and I really don't like the cold besides when I was hunting , skiing or ice fishing in it. Driving wasn't fun, although I do miss the seasons. Living in Texas, which is hotter on average than Thailand, at least it got cold for awhile, which I enjoyed. Here it's just hot, hotter and wet too long. My daughter lives in Deptford across the river from Philly. I remember driving uphill , sideways, on ice many times, and being out in To Build a Fire weather out in the woods, miles from my car. Fun.

Everyone's opinions are valid. Some aren't true. Trying to call me ignorant when you have no evidence of anything besides a Creator is foolish as well. What knowledge does anyone have that there isn't a God? None whatsoever. Just their opinions. Like I said, better to keep your opinions to yourself so they don't hurt anyone. If you believe that everything came to be from something outside of a Creator, that's your deal, along with some others. You won't convince the billions of believers to change to your side so again, why bother?

I ignore those who are mentally ill, toxic people who use their narcissism to control others. No one can control you if you don't let them, at least after realizing they are trying to.

But you can't stay over night when you really need comfort, unless you hide behind some boxes.

And I say anyone that believes the universe, which is composed of matter, came into being from a big bang that just happened by itself, is out there also.

Warped is a parent that doesn't teach their children positive things. Teaching them about God isn't hurting them in any way and gives them hope. What would happen if there turned out to be no God? Did they waste their time being good people? Where is any loss ? Of fun? Living a positive, helpful, loving life and having God in it doesn't subtract anything. I'm not afraid of God, as I know I, and everyone else, will meet him someday. Hopefully I'll be prepared. I don't condemn anyone. Not my job. Only my job to spread the word. It's up to others what they want to do with that information. I live near Cambodia also. My belief is more valid because I believe in God, and with that I believe there's a forever in heaven. If you don't believe in God, how is there a heaven? Who created heaven if not God. They believe in an afterlife, enlightenment. What is that if it doesn't have a heaven? And where I live there are Christians, both foreigners and some Thais. My ex's sister is a Christian. And what would you be curing me of? A faith in God? What's the cure? Believing that we all came to be from nothing? From a big bang that created all of life, all the species, all the planets and that life just happens to have all it needs on earth?I think I'll stick with what makes more sense.

Christianity looks at women as equals. Believers see all of creation as miracles, and it's strange to me, and millions of others, that some think all of creation just happened by chance, which is impossible. That's our proof, and it's all we need to believe there's a creator. Like I said, it's best to keep your beliefs to yourself, as trying to turn people away from God is usually fruitless, and a complete waste of your time anyway. Why bother?
