  1. ok I got my visa, non-O immigrant, multiple entry. What a relief, can I do an extension based on my income? do I have to wait this visa to expired to do it? Also I was not aware before to come that if you don't have dollar to come to Laos they make you pay 1800 bahts for the Laos visa instead of 1050 bahts (30 dollars). You also have to pay to leave Laos, we paid 60 bahts per adult.
  2. I dropped my application for non O marriage today, indeed everyone is saying to avoid Monday and Thursday. I found Tuesday to be quite busy already, can't imagine when it's busier. Is there good chance to get the visa once they accepted the application? Do they usually denied before accepting the 5000 bahts?
  3. My wife and kids will be there, I will probably ask as father of a Thai national, does the birthday certificate has to be updated from less than 6 months as well? The Thai bank passport is the bank book? how recent it has to be updated? 2 days would be ok?
  4. Hi everyone, I'm going to Savannakhet next Monday or Tuesday if I can as I heard it's better to avoid Monday. here the requirement from Savannakhet Thai embassy: Visa application form [Download] which is completely filled out and signed by the applicant Original and a copy of passport or travel document (must not expire within 180 days and contain at least two complete empty visa pages) Two (2) photos of the applicant (3.5 x 4.5 cm, taken within 6 months) Original and a copy of marriage certificate (for spouse/parent) or birth certificate (for child). A copy of Thai identification card (for spouse/parent) A copy of passport (for spouse/parent) A copy of Thai House registration Visa Fee: 2,000 Baht (Single Entry) - Regarding number 6, my wife lost her passport but she has her ID card, is that a problem? - My Visa extension end on 29 August, can I pass the border on Tuesday 29 morning? - Do I need to show 20 000 bahts on my Thai bank? at the border immigration or at the consulate, if yes how? just the book bank? - I have a letter from the owner to prove where I'm living, electricity bill from my house and also from my wife house, I will bring the tabien ban of my wife in case, will even take few pictures of us in the house I rent. Anything else I should be aware of? - Does the marriage certificate has to be updated? less than 6 months
  5. I don't speak Russian, I can't even imitate Russian accent and I have never smoked of my life. Well I'm ready to endure as long as it doesn't reduce my chance to get a visa otherwise I could lose one more day if necessary.
  6. I'm going there on Monday 28 August, planning to sleep at Mukdahan on Sunday evening and pass the bridge/border on Monday morning. Are the Mondays that terrible?
  7. Thank you again for your answer and your time, I was wrongly calling Embassies/Consulates immigration. In my future posts I can avoid making everyone confused. So it is possible to get visas at immigration but only if on a tourist or exempt and when on Non immigrant it's possible to get extension but not a new visa, it has to be done at an embassy.
  8. If they steal her by convincing her to come then it's not really stealing but if they kidnap her that would indeed be problematic.
  9. Thank you very much for your answer, I would appreciate the full education on the matter too. I'm going next week to Savannakhet by car, Rayong to Mukdahan, take all my family with me to make it a nice family trip. I'm a bit stress about this Udon Thani stamps, I didn't realize until last week that it was made in Udon Thani. I only checked the date and type of visa and celebrated. Hopefully they won't mind in Savannakhet and I can make a fresh new visa, I can probably extend based on my salary once I come back here. Could you tell me if I understand this basic thing? Visas are given in immigration outside of Thailand and Visas extension can be given in Thailand, is that correct? or is it possible to make a fresh new visa while in Thailand? I remember getting a NON B visa years ago and my company sent me to Singapore to get it, they took care of everything included WP.
  10. That's a good new, it's just a Toyota Revo 2019 double cab with carry boy, nothing special (but I really love it), thieves will probably have their eyes on something more interesting.
  11. Thank you very much for all your answers, I don't mind much the price as long as my car is safe. I'm quite careful, my wife got scammed by her Thai boyfriend, long story but she bought a new car on credit and then gave him the keys for him to use it for his coconut business and she never got it back, no proof, finance can't find it as well and believe he probably sold it in small parts to Cambodia. So I'm thinking that if it's that easy I better keep a close eye on my car, unlike her I suppose I could go straight to the police and use the assurance but she believes that it's very hard to near impossible to get back the money from the insurance, don't know if it's true, I will check later but it made me a bit paranoid.
  12. Hi everyone, I'm going to Savanakhet next week to get a NON O, I will bring my family with me, we are living in Rayong now. So I hesitate to go by bus or car, it's a bit cheaper by car and more convenient. I'm just worried about the parking. Is it safe to park at the Mukdahan friendship bridge parking lot? I read it's 250 bahts per day, do they have security? I could also pay a hotel just for the car but I wonder if it's safer anyway. Anyone that use to go there by car?
  13. I'm just coming back from the immigration, I explained them everything, the officer was very nice. You were right, she told us that my best option is to get out of Thailand and make a new Non O visa to clean the one with Udon Thani. She said it was best to ask as a father of a Thai national like my last visa to don't make them confuse. I asked for two months to visit my children and she said it was not possible because of the Udon Thani thing, also it would be a problem to renew my work permit. My wife contacted the agency and they told her the same, that if I don't use them then I have to get out of Thailand because they did it in Udon Thani and now it's them or getting out and now the price goes from 15 000 to 30 000 because no choice. Much less nicer than last year... I will avoid agency as much as possible from now on. I'm not sure to understand well how it works. Let me know if this is correct, to make a new visa it has to be done in an immigration outside Thailand, then to make extension it's possible to make it at the immigration in Thailand. So here I can't make a business visa or a Non-O visa here in Thailand. I think my best bet is the Non O visa in Savanakhet, I hope the Udon Thani stamp won't be a problem. This visa would be without proof of income or money in bank. My plan B if they deny it at Savanakhet would be to go to Vientian and ask for a Non O but this time with proof of income. I will bring my wife and children to Savanakhet, would it help?
  14. I just realize that I have a salary, more than 40 000 and that I pay taxes. So I don't need the 400 000 in bank and can make the extension myself at the immigration. Do I still have to go to Udon Thani? like the agency asked?
  15. I just read on another thread that it's possible to get 2 months to visit my children, I don't know why the agency didn't suggest it. I feel that they are putting pressure to make me stress and pay more, they are right, it's horribly stressful. Now my question is, with 2 months to visit my children can I still renew my work permit? if not then better to make a new visa at Savanakhet, the cost of travel, visas and hotel should be in the 10 000 bahts range anyway.
  16. The agency called my wife, they made my visa as father of Thai national so I can't get 2 months to visit my wife and they said the law changed and it's more complicated today. They are now asking 30 000 to make my visa... I think I have two options here, Savanakhet and business visa. I have a work permit (expire soon) and the company I work for is registered to a capital of 2 millions bahts. Maybe the business visa would be easier? how much on average agency charge for it? And for Savanakhet is it still like before? can still get visa without the money in the bank?
  17. I sent you the copy of my passport by private message. If you have time to take a look it would be very nice. I contacted the agency but they told me to go to Udon Thani to take a photo, indeed my visa stamp is from there but I have never been there. I'm living now in Rayong with my family (wife and kids), living and working too. Agency is not responding anymore. I hope there is other alternatives than going to Udon Thani.
  18. RIP UBON JOE, I thought he was an eternal being, always wondering who was behind this pseudo. He was always right in his answers, very patient and helped everyone here without failing. I really hope he got well rewarded for his effort and time spent here. Hope he got the beautiful life he certainly deserved. It feels very strange to know he is gone, no more peace of mind thinking no problem I will ask Ubonjoe. This man was a hero for all expats in Thailand...
  19. Hi, I see your answers only now, I'm working indeed with a work permit that I have to renew soon as well. I'm less than 50 and the agency lend me the money. I didn't get extension to visit my wife since last time I entered Thailand in May 2022. I will ask 2 months to visit my wife and after this can I get a visa extension the same way than last year? Also for the work permit, can I get it renew during the 2 month to visit my wife? is it still consider a Non O and allowed to work if visiting my wife?
  20. The agent manged the money in the bank. Visa is based on marriage. I need a bit time to get the money to paid the agency so would be good if I could get 2 months extension to visit my wife. Do you think that's possible? And after this get one year extension again.
  21. Thank you very much for your answers, that's actually the first time I'm using an agency, the past 10 years I was getting my visa in Laos, but I had to get out of the country every 3 months. Indeed you are right, that's an extension of stay. I have a stamp Non-O on 14 June 2022 with a red used stamp on it. The extension says that I have to leave the country within the date specified (29 August 2023) and to keep your permit to stay re entry permit must be made before leaving Thailand. So the next notification of residence (every 3 months) on 22 August should allow me to stay 3 more months, after this can I use the 2 months to visit my wife? and then I will have to get again a one year extension? Or do I have to get one year extension before 29 August?
  22. Thanks for all your answers, my two daughter are in Pattanavech School, seems to be ok. They are quite centered on business though. School bus is 1800 bahts per month just to bring them back home because they don't accept to keep the kids up to 17:30, I'm paying special course at 500 bahts per month per kids, and 1000 per kids on Saturday, with fuel, special class, bus etc to fit my work schedule I'm paying 7000 per month on top of the 30 000 per term for my two daughters. Still not bad. Way better than the free school, they spent 1 year in free school and in took some re-adjustement to make them forget all the bad words and behavior they picked there.
  23. Hi everyone, I have a 1 year non o visa that will end on 29 August, I report my address every 3 months and next report will be on 22 August. Can I get an additional 3 months on 22 August or do I have to renew my visa before 29 August? If I can't get 3 months on 22 August, could I get 2 months extension to visit my wife? I used an agency, I think I paid 15 000 for my visa renewal last year.
  24. That's interesting, I made few post about my story with my wife, she left me for a "rich" thai guy, house, land and car in her name. She left me with absolutely nothing but "allowed" me to take our two daughters. She made a marriage ceremony at the temple with him and they had many beautiful project especially for business. So she put the car I bought in her name as collateral for a credit to invest in his business and after this she also put the land and house I bought as collateral to buy him a pick up. His business failed and he had a lot of expenses with all his mia noi, he decided to don't pay the pick up and to don't give her back the money she invested. I was very much in love but much less today, I asked her to come back and she accepted, she will lose everything we had, land and house and for the car I'm paying her credit. She can't afford an insurance, I can't afford insurance for two cars as I bought one in my name this time (expensive lesson learned). So now that she is living with me (rented house) I'm wondering what would happened if she was making another credit or crash with the car. If she is making a credit in my back would I be responsible? If she take a gik or leave me for another man and mess it up again do I have to pay? whatever she is doing in my back I become responsible? and if I tell her to don't and have the proof that I said no, would it help? Better to know my right but I start to really wonder if there is any benefit in being married.
  25. I will ask her tonight what is her source, she is usually well informed in the matter as she worked in insurance all her work life but I took a quick look on google and could not find anything to back up this information.
