  1. How did this post get resurrected? OP is 2008 and the 2nd to most current is 6 months ago.

Any how, I'm just curious who does the PSD songs/jingles on 91.5 is it the band from Scruffy Murphy's??

I think their songs (the adds for PSD) are great!

  2. if you can afford it go with the Desire. It's more on par with the Nexus One with a little more RAM and HTC Sence.

The Legend, while still a great phone, is half the CPU speed and half the RAM. Don't know if it will be as capable in applying future OS updates.

I've just been messing around with the internet on my phone and have managed to get buy but the other day I really needed to send an MMS and couldn't.

I found these settings on a Thai language web site and it appears to work.

The EDGE/GPRS works and I could send a MMS picture to my wife's phone (N95) However, her trying to send me one back did not. I received notification on my Nexus that there was a msg to Download and i click the button but the down load fails.

I have not tried this yet with another handset sending to the Nexus

So at this point with the above configuration settings

    Internet: Yes

    MMS send: Yes

    MMS receive: not confirmed

can some one give this a shot and tell me is it just the N95 not talking nice to my Nexus?

  4. 2nd hand experience: I have a friend that while rescuing a stray stranded distressed dog from a kalong here was bitten on the face multiple times causing a fair bit of damage (understatement) her face was saved by the wonderful doctor at http://www.jungceylonclinic.com/ My friend is beautiful and I would have never know about the dog attack if she had never told me. His clinic offers Breast augmentation and if his face work is anythiing to base his breast work off of it should be top notch.

  5. Is the airport fully operational 24hrs.

While the Airport, parking, bathrooms and security may be there, all offices and shops will be closed. Food eateries close up shop around 22:00

    Can I get a feed at 3am ??

No, not in the airport. You'd have a better chance heading out onto the street to find a late night noodle stand or walk about 500m to your right out the airport gate and find the 7-11

Can I have a shower and shave out there ??

No, no showering facilities at the airport.

I would recommend looking up the Phuket airport hotel if you are looking for a more relaxing place to kill some time rent a room take a shower or nap and use their WiFi

  6. I should take my camera with me on my next swim. Just did Andaman White Sand beach to the north tip of Ni Torn today and saw 4 different species of Jellies today. Pink, the classic white basket ball size one i see all the time, a white one (tennis ball size) with a meter long tail, and several clear slightly domed ones with multiple clear tails off the body.

  7. which web e-mail service are you using? (gmail/yahoo/hotmail)

do you use an add blocker? e.g. Add Block Plus?? Try white listing the site you are using and see if your performance improves.

  8. From Their website, it gets even stranger

Phuket Mind Centre at PIA, currently under construction, will offer training in the cultivation of cognitive and emotional balance. Phuket International Academy Mind Centre (PIAMC) will provide a blend of contemporary psychology and neuroscience alongside ancient Asian contemplative practices. Delivered through residential retreats and weekend seminars PIAMC is open to all. Working in close interaction with the PIA Day School and the PIA Sports, Arts & Wellness Centre, the programmes offered through PIAMC will contribute to everyone's enhanced mental balance and wellbeing.

    ... more like a sect than a school ...

It's a sect because it wants to enhance, embrace and educate ones Mind Body and Soul?? :)

  9. What was he doing in the school since he had already been dismissed in December ? The school should be held responsible for allowing this man to enter it's compound even after he was no longer an employee there.

your information is off: Teacher was Dismissed in DEC 2009. Incident allegedly took place prior to teachers dismissal. Allegations were maid recently. Teacher arrested at his home last Friday Night (19 MAR) Teacher was not wandering around campus of his own accord post dismissal.

  10. The infants toilets at PIA are tiny children toilets that could not be used by an adult. The infants are always accompanied by a teacher and usually go to the toilet in groups. If a child needs to go during class, a teacher always accompanies them. And this teacher was in a different building with nothing to do with the infant classes.

more ... more, you seem to know more ... pleeeeease

Don't do it thaifry. I know too, but i want to let this be handled by the professionals and not contaminate the case.

  11. Several Points to make

What kind of screening process do these guys get before landing a teaching job in this country?

The people i know who have gone into this industry tell me they had no screening at all, they were very surprised.

Unfortunately not all schools do it the same way. I know that PIA, like British and many other international schools receive the teaching credentials, a Thai police report and a police report form the teacher's home county for all new teachers.

He's been arrested. He's denied the charges. He's not been proven guilty.

However, If it's true, absolutely revolting.

What is it about people in positions of trust and kids - clergy, teachers etc.

It's about time that more thorough back-ground checks were made by the appropriate authorities, but especially by these schools that families entrust their children to. And you have to ask yourself - would you entrust your toddlers to a 51 year old man working in a day school - a kindergarden? That would set off an alarm bell immediately in my opinion. This guy is going to teach my toddler nursery rhymes?! I'm sorry, that doesn't compute well.

The school, I hope, is also held responsible if this case is proven in a court of law. It will be a lesson that all schools should be doing more thorough back-ground checks on people they employ to 'teach' children - regardless of their age.

This Teacher was not a teacher for this age group. He was a middle school teacher (think 10-12 yr olds)

Agreed the school needs some investigation into how the teacher had access to the child.

I don't know but the majority of those that would "abuse" are not going to be caught by background checks (sorry to say). I would prefer all those that go after kids (especially teachers, since they are suppose to be held to a higher standard) - be kept in Thai prisons, not transferred back to their home country to serve the sentence.

Cacruden Brings up a very good point Background checks do not uncover every thing, especially if it's a first time.

  12. The Teacher was dismissed for performance issues not related to the allegations brought against him. The allegations have only come forth recently. I have very strong feelings related to child abuse of any sort, but I'm tempering this with the fact that this man has not yet been convicted of the alleged crime. Please don't jump to conclusions.
