  1. Congratulations to the doctors and nurses from the police hospital they have resurrected a man so close to death that he has had to remain in hospital for his entire incarceration. He was so close to death he couldn’t even spend 24 hours of his sentence in jail, now he has miraculously recovered enough to get parole and return to the stress of thai politics
  2. This country will be bankrupt when the “where there’s blames there’s a claim”cases start
  3. Anutin is leader of the coalition party which made it legal, all those individuals and businesses encouraged into investment should sue the government
  4. Is honesty in Thailand such a rare event that a lost wallet becomes newsworthy? Kudos to the hotel worker
  5. Been traveling to airport regularly for last few months as daughter is an air hostess, arrivals seemed quiet but the car parks seemed very busy with people leaving the country for the holidays looking at foreign arrivals but not looking at how much local tourism is being lost
  6. Still has the rice pledging scheme malfeasance charges, the elite are definitely running scared from these new younger candidates from the move forward party, they are slowly splitting the voters and better the devil you know like Thaksin than this new breed of politicians that want unilateral changes to the country
  7. Did they get the tourists to fill out a confidential survey to see if they felt more confident seeing an army of the boys in brown waiting for them on arrival? More than likely most were shocked and concerned how much it was going to cost them
  8. Id be interested to see how many “regular prisoners “ die in custody each year at the prison hospital, i know an ex colleague who fell on hard times and resorted to drugs fell into a coma and died in the prison hospital without being airlifted to the police facility weeks before his release date if he was as ill as is being proclaimed and no deal was made for him not serving time in prison, why did he return and not get the required treatment where he was hiding, this is Thailand they can do what they want, the thing that winds me up is they think all its citizens are retarded and cant see the obvious favoritism. stop the the bull and just announce we are releasing him as we have made a deal the phua thai party so we can keep the move forward party out of power and protect the monarchy
  9. People will buy locally instead of duty free shop on arrival….. what utter rubbish, Thailand cant even buy alcohol unless it’s between 11am and 2pm or 5pm and midnight get this sorted first then your big plan might make more sense
  10. Army barracks? Cant make this up, stop trying to appease this guy and make his life easier. He is a convicted criminal not a young man serving his king and country in the armed forces.
  11. No excuse in the big cities plenty of public transport and taxis, get into the provinces and pretty much nothing available.
  12. He’ll get reported have to make an ingenious apology to her and a small insignificant fine, thats why these price gauging stories are heard time and time again. Traffic light point system first offense fine (green) second offense fine and 30 day license suspension (amber) third offense license revoked for 12 months (if caught operating without a license mandatory 3 months jail sentence) Thailand makes things difficult for itself because there are no severe consequences for their actions, in this day and age with social media every tourist and local getting ripped off post the interaction on social media which damages the tourist industry and locals confidence in taxi services and apps
  13. These are not pitbulls, they are not pups these are fully grown American Bullies. I have several at home and these are the least unaggressive breed i have worked with and i was a dog trainer in the military for the majority of my career. Any dog can become a nuisance given the wrong stimuli eg hunger and fear,
  14. 50% were on drugs, thats what happens when you try to curb alcohol use with high taxation and archaic advertising rules and selling times, people will look for cheaper alternatives to have a good time, not a fan of Thaksin especially in his blatant avoidance of serving his criminal sentence but he certainly got to grips with Thailands drug problem, now you can buy several yabba pills for the cost of a beer
  15. nothing been done about the exploitation of kids in the last 15 yrs of traveling to and living in Thailand kids still roaming the bars late at night selling gum/flowers/fruit, typical Thailand cant see whats under their noses until it hits the international news then the Ministers are coming out of the woodwork making promises that they have no intention of keeping, just make a big song and dance until things die down
  16. They do far worse to themselves every day, constantly seeing various monks around the country engaged in sexual relationships, taking drugs. Clean up your own house and people might be more inclined to take the religion more serious
  17. Celebrating his 90 visa, stupid lad, if he came here to avoid the draft then has royally shot himself in the foot…. Might have to do that next now he is persona non grata here
  18. Met him on a hookup app! went on a date to a bar! Allowed a relative stranger to spend the night in your bed! Then surprised something untoward happens, do we expats leave our brain cells in our home countries when we come here
  19. Flocking really when gbp is down to 43 baht? Chiang mai will likely kill any residents with breathing difficulties £1500 a month seems very reasonable but then need to add in the 800,000 per person for the visa which will probably be a nightmare for the family to get out of the bank when someone dies, the uk isnt great but has the national health service which is free, any inevitable age related illnesses will put a serious dent in a retirees savings
  20. Why does there always need to be a CRACKDOWN? Crime prevention and detection should be a daily occurrence. Thai police are always reactive and never proactive if you want to look into mafia start in your own police organization, working in cahoots with visa agents doesn’t help the situation
  21. From experience in the court system its a crazy system. Released and passport detained by the police they would take you to the immigration to get extension stamp, then after an initial visit to the court admin office you are given a court date and your passport is returned this is where immigration get pissed off, you have your passport back and need them to extend your visa, they are used to foreigners leaving the country now so every visit they shout at you to go home then the same thing happens for most of the 12 months probation. If the court dont want him to leave dont give him his passport back and provide court documents for his visa
  22. Targeting one foreign rider ! What about the thousands of thai riders doing the same thing on a daily basis. Certainly make him face punishment but treat him the same as all the thai riders he is mimicking
  23. Good idea in principle but this will quickly turn into a corrupt method of subsidizing and individuals police salary. The police chief keeps demanding that the public trust his officers, but that’s impossible with a different police corruption or criminality scandal every week they only way to sort this is to drastically reduce the size of the police force especially senior officers, pay the police a better salary, issue police weapons (police currently get huge discounts on guns, these will often be sold on for a profit after the holding period. I like to see every gun involved in a crime investigated to see who originally purchased it) separate agency promotion exam boards so only the youngest and brightest get promoted instead of the one with biggest pocket. Police complaints procedures, so those incompetent officers can be weeded out after a certain amounts of public complaints, stop this moved to an inactive post and terminate their employment. The police and thai people have forgotten that the police are public servants and are employed at the will of the people
  24. Wow police doing there job and it becomes newsworthy headline
