Few bad elements can quickly give a country a bad name, however Asean now seems to only publish incidents relating to foreigners in trouble, if it was to actually watch and report incidents happening among local residents on the thai news channels then they would cause a drastic drop in foreign visitors and likely come under pressure from the government. Best to cause divisions among the foreigners than to report the whole news

The allure of high salaries (compared to Thailand) what they don’t factor in is the high cost of living expenses and the taxes each month that they will be subject to, heard it many times before “ my son is going to London and will be working at Dunkin’ Donuts and will be earning 80,000 baht a month” can see there heart sink when i tell them about London rents and uk tax and national insurance payments

Dont even try to hide the fact that there are separate justice systems for the rich and poor anymore

Tragic but on the plus side he was savvy enough to ensure he had full medical insurance coverage, Thailand is not the place to holiday and just wing it, the roads are perilous to put it politely, footpaths aren't much safe, a dispute with locals or other tourists can quickly turn deadly, and low railings on hotel balconies seem to take several visitors lives each year.

The balcony railings in many of these hotels certainly don’t comply with European standards vast majority are very low and its very easy (especially after a few beers) to go lean on the railing where you expect it to be and find nothing there and lose your balance.

Total farce from start to finish and despite every politicians promise that just is for all not just the wealthy and those politicaly connected You can tell its gotten bad in Thailand now, people have simply conceded that T.I.T and nothing will ever change and whats the point in protesting, they had a glimmer of light when the elections saw the move forward party won but was quickly stamped out. They would rather make concessions to Thaksin to guarantee his freedom (was public enemy number 1) rather than concede to change

Congratulations to the doctors and nurses from the police hospital they have resurrected a man so close to death that he has had to remain in hospital for his entire incarceration. He was so close to death he couldn’t even spend 24 hours of his sentence in jail, now he has miraculously recovered enough to get parole and return to the stress of thai politics

This country will be bankrupt when the “where there’s blames there’s a claim”cases start

Been traveling to airport regularly for last few months as daughter is an air hostess, arrivals seemed quiet but the car parks seemed very busy with people leaving the country for the holidays looking at foreign arrivals but not looking at how much local tourism is being lost

Id be interested to see how many “regular prisoners “ die in custody each year at the prison hospital, i know an ex colleague who fell on hard times and resorted to drugs fell into a coma and died in the prison hospital without being airlifted to the police facility weeks before his release date if he was as ill as is being proclaimed and no deal was made for him not serving time in prison, why did he return and not get the required treatment where he was hiding, this is Thailand they can do what they want, the thing that winds me up is they think all its citizens are retarded and cant see the obvious favoritism. stop the the bull and just announce we are releasing him as we have made a deal the phua thai party so we can keep the move forward party out of power and protect the monarchy

People will buy locally instead of duty free shop on arrival….. what utter rubbish, Thailand cant even buy alcohol unless it’s between 11am and 2pm or 5pm and midnight get this sorted first then your big plan might make more sense

No excuse in the big cities plenty of public transport and taxis, get into the provinces and pretty much nothing available.

Traffic light point system first offense fine (green) second offense fine and 30 day license suspension (amber) third offense license revoked for 12 months (if caught operating without a license mandatory 3 months jail sentence) Thailand makes things difficult for itself because there are no severe consequences for their actions, in this day and age with social media every tourist and local getting ripped off post the interaction on social media which damages the tourist industry and locals confidence in taxi services and apps

I have several at home and these are the least unaggressive breed i have worked with and i was a dog trainer in the military for the majority of my career. Any dog can become a nuisance given the wrong stimuli eg hunger and fear,

50% were on drugs, thats what happens when you try to curb alcohol use with high taxation and archaic advertising rules and selling times, people will look for cheaper alternatives to have a good time, not a fan of Thaksin especially in his blatant avoidance of serving his criminal sentence but he certainly got to grips with Thailands drug problem, now you can buy several yabba pills for the cost of a beer
