  1. Just read about it: https://www.euronews.com/travel/2022/07/25/brexit-eurostar-cancellations-and-dover-delays-whats-behind-the-french-and-uk-travel-chaos Do you think those things are connected? "Line closure between Paris and Lille".
  2. It clearly does make a difference. Eurostar fine. Flying fine. I wrote county. Yes, the claim is that there were too few booths manned initially. So six Frenchmen? I haven't actually read anything about what was happening at Dover. It only came to my notice via this thread.
  3. Are people travelling to Spain via ferry now? Don't you get embarrassed putting your thoughts in writing? You might note that the Eurostar doesn't have the same issue. French officials there don't seem to have an issue with the British. Just at Dover it seems, that six Frenchmen being late for work can bring the whole county to a standstill. https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/james-obrien/dover-folkestone-queues-cross-channel-tory-crisis-of-intelligence/ Nothing to do with Brexit? Would it have happened if not for Brexit?
  4. Tourist price ???? Local market selling 10 grams for 200 baht, for example. I wonder if the guys selling on Beach Road have adjusted their pricing. Was 500 baht for 12.5 grams; so you actually paid more than the rate before liberalisation.
  5. If you want it to taste as you remember, you'll need to spend more on the 'good' stuff. Butter actually made from fresh double cream, as opposed to a mix of ingredients that resembles butter.
  6. If in Jomtien, there is a cobbler on the road behind Rompho Market.
  7. But it isn't, unless you count a product containing butter oil and skimmed milk as butter. Their butter blend contains 37% butter oil and their '100%' butter contains 80% butter oil.
  8. As I pointed out to you, you can keep your number. Asking for a MNP code doesn't change your status. You have to actually give that code to another provider if you want to port the number. Otherwise it just expires after 30 days. Extension? Just change the number to 30 or 90. Using a combination of those numbers, you should be able to get close to 365 days. Activate International Roaming on the SIM now; so that you have the option of applying the extension codes when you are out of the country. Activate roaming service by keying in *118# on the phone keypad and then pressing the call button. You'll get a text message in confirmation.
  9. That is (relatively) terrible. 799 baht + VAT equalling 854.93 If you take a new DTAC number , you can get unlimited 15 Mbps for 1400 baht covering a 12 month period(equivalent to 117 baht per month) or you can take an unlimited 8 Mbps as a 30 day pack @ 150 baht. If you want to keep your number whilst doing so, you have two choices; Port your number to another network and avail yourself of the new SIM unlimited packs from 150 baht per 30 days or call DTAC for your MNP code and once you get it, suggest to them that you won't move if they can apply capped speed unlimited pack to your account.
  10. I pay 195 baht for 500 grams of Anchor butter. I'd prefer something like Waitrose Organic. Though at 259 baht(£5.84) for 250 grams, instead of £2.40 in the UK, I don't justify it to myself ????
  11. Orchid is also not 100% butter, but a butter 'blend'.
  12. It's not 100% butter and it's not butter as you know it. Even though it states 100% on the outside, the ingredients prove otherwise. https://www.centuryhousedairy.com The closest thing they have to butter is their Lactic Butter and even that is not 100%: • Milk cream 98% • Maltodrextrin 0.7% • Emulsifier (INS-471, INS-475) 1.3%
  13. Same. Related to butter. If you are referring to Homefresh Gold: 57% milk cream (41% fat, 16% milk) Butter Oil 41% • Maltodrextrin 0.7% • Emulsifier (INS-471, INS-475) 1.3% That's not butter as I know it. Compare it to a standard product bought in the U.K. https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/kerrygold-pure-irish-butter-250g Cream, Salt (1.8%)
  14. You wrote "Imported mature cheddar". No mention of English nor it's provenance. Is all Mature English cheddar of the same quality? I also enjoy a good quality British cheddar. Duchy Organic is creamy, buttery and tasty....though pricey in Thailand.
  15. or just buy brand name NZ cheese(Mainland) at much the same price from the supermarket.
  16. That is certainly related to butter; Butter oil, Skimmed milk powder, iodized salt. The cheap stuff is usually compound butter or a butter 'blend'.
  17. I doubt that you have ever encountered a 'BIOS virus' in your whole life, let alone encountered one on a second hand device. Windows 98 anyone? People seem to just take the opportunity to post the most ridiculous things they can think of that they have read and then put them in writing here. Unless you are an activist or some such, forget about any such scenario. If you want to be sure, Kaspersky offers a Firmware Scanner.
  18. British gesture. The French tried to cut their fingers off.
  19. I guess I take it seriously and want to understand all sides. But it always looks like an argument between rival football team supporters, rather than a discussion of the finer points of the game.
  20. I am not judging your standard of education. I am only interested in reasoned discussion of your beliefs. You might genuinely have information of interest. But most of what I read from the 'Brexiteers' involves abuse towards anyone they regard as 'left leaning'. It's a bit sad. Like teasing in the playground.
  21. It's fine if you are sure that you won't use more than 3 GB per day. But have you bothered to call them to see what they will offer? Asking for you MNP code often moves them in to action. Unlimited 8 Mbps is available for 150 baht per 30 days.
  22. Seriously? You need to stop ???? I need to go out . It's been a bit much ????
  23. No. Just try to stop showing off quite so much. Take it easy. You have been given the figures and the documentation. You don't have anything to refute them, so just quieten down and take it easy until you do.
