This week, Kasikorn Bank’s financial pundits have said the Thai baht is likely to remain weak for the next few months, which bodes well for overseas vacationers’ wallets.

OK as we know the price of a seat on a flight from Europe or the States has jumped due to fuel costs and longer routes to avoid flying near Russia.

Who is this Michael Bridge muppet who penned this <deleted>? Must be sponsored by the TAT dream team. I'm guessing that he is American, as they are the tourists that will benefit the most from the current exchange rate. Flights are up at least 50% from a few months ago so this will be a major deterrent for a long haul flight to Thailand.

You cannot change non immigrant visa categories without leaving the country to apply for a new one.

It is possible to change your extension of stay based retirement to one based upon working. But the problem you will have is getting a work permit application approval letter to apply for the extension based upon working.

You do not have to return to your home country to apply for non-b visa. It can be done at a nearby Thai embassy or official consulate. The company would need to apply for a work permit using a WP4 form that is for those that are outside the country.

Thanks Joe... I was under the impression that I could apply at any Thai Embassy, but Thai company rep was adamant that I had to go back to Home Country to apply.

  3. I have been offered a job with a large multi-national company on a WFH assignment. Unfortunately the Company's representative in Thailand is telling me that I must leave Thailand, go back to my Home Country (UK) cancel my Non-O visa (retirement) and apply for Non-B which could take up to 4 weeks? Then I return to Thailand and get Work Permit after 7 days.

Does anybody know from personal experience if it's possible to convert my Non-O to Non-B without leaving Thailand? I haven't been back to the UK for many years and would prefer to avoid this as I no longer have family living there.

    Thanks in advance...

Quite similar situation as you except that I have Thai wife. Just came back yesterday from abroad. Yes you need TP even if you have Non-O visa while your Thai husband don't need. Really easy and fast application for TP and you get a notification with a QR code. Present the notification before immigration; a cursory check and off you go.

Eric, as you have recently come back I'm hoping that can help me. I have a 1 year Non-O like yourself and was wondering for the ThaiPass do you have to take out a Covid policy for the total duration of your visa? I have to do a business trip to Singapore next week and wondering if I could get away with a 7 or 15 day policy to satisfy TP requirements?

At least 500,000 international tourists are anticipated each month, a significant rise from the authority’s initial forecast of 300,000 and a sign of increased optimism for the sector’s revival.

Thanakorn added that Thailand now plans to welcome 7-10 million international tourists and produce 1.5 trillion baht in revenue from the industry by the end of 2022

TAT muppet spokespeople just don't have a clue about basic maths. There are only 7 months remaining in 2022 so Thanakorn would need 1M tourists a month to meet his fantasy projection of 7 million tourists. Previous paragraph he projects 500K tourists monthly so that would only give him 3.5 Million by year end...

I can only recommend the new German Buffet.
It is located in the city center, so i don't have to drive 25 kilometers outside CM. Convenient parking in Loy Kroh is another big advantage there.

Try it and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Hardly 25KM... only 8KM away from LK Soi 3...

  8. Does anybody have 1st hand knowledge about this Insurance provider? I can't find much information about them online regarding their payout history on medical claims.

Their premiums look very reasonable compared to other Insurers. My current provider is getting expensive as I'm 65 on my next birthday.
