The Ministry of Public Health has given an assurance that COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed across the nation
Story comes from the Politburo News so must be true...

You should consider that 70 % for herd immunity does not require those with natural antigens from previous (recovered) infection, or children under 12 to be vaccinated. So, the actual number of people that must receive vaccination to achieve herd immunity is significantly less than 70% of the total population.
I did not say total population. I said adult population.... Whatever the number, it's going to be a long road with many twists and turns...
-
Looks like Thailand is ramping up their game now. Adult population Thailand ~53M so only another 50M to go.... or 35M to achieve 70% herd immunity on 1st jab... given that the stats are from a TAT website I wonder how accurate they are? https://www.tatnews.org/2021/06/thailand-covid-19-situation-as-of-3-june-2021-12-30-hrs-2/

According to the source, even if millions of vaccines were suddenly available the country does not have the capacity to inoculate more than a set number per day creating a vaccination bottleneck.
Obviously.
Simply amazing that the regime is focused on registrations. Blah-blah-blah, that's all we hear about, registrations.
Next up they'll run out syringes. Then oops, not enough reliable cold storage. Then mass vaccination sites will become clusters.
All this has been done before in other countries. Why repeat the same mistakes?
Again, thank goodness they never had to defend the Kingdom.
Thanks goodness we have the submarines to protect us. Money well spent by the Govt...

I'm just waiting for the we don't have enough syringes excuse for the delays... ????

CP Group could come to the rescue, with their resources (money) & vaccines (Sinovac). From memory there are ~12,000 7-11's in Thailand. Put 1 nurse & assistant in each store for an hour or two everyday. 20 jabs * 12,000 = 240,000 per day, SORTED...

What a total cluster<deleted>... The Govt has had a whole year to plan the vaccine roll-out from June, what the <deleted> have they been doing? Typical Thailand, corrective reaction due to <deleted> poor planning. The Govt obviously aren't aware/practice the Six Ps of Planning – Prior Planning & Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. No doubt there were numerous committees set up this past year to discuss the vaccine roll-out with meetings at luxurious hotels and nice 5 star buffets, but the net result had been a resounding failure by the looks of things....

Vimut hospital is obviously owned by one of the Elite Sino-Thai families. CP Group?

Thailand doesn't have enough vaccine for its own netizens, and it also looks like Siam Bioscience is going to fall short on delivery to some of its ASEAN neighbors. Real sh*t-storm brewing... https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/first-astrazeneca-vaccine-exports-thailand-philippines-delayed-govt-adviser-2021-06-01/

Daily vaccinations for 1 jab in the past 10 days have averaged 65,000 so how and earth can the DCC possibly inject 70% of the population in such a short time frame. Does nobody in the DDC know how to use a calculator? simple arithmetic shows that is just not possible. Why aren't the press all over this when totally unachievable targets are given? ... https://www.tatnews.org/category/covid-19-stats/

If your math is correct, why hasn't every Thai news service pointed this out, and challenged the Czar's pledge as very likely not achievable?
Nothing wrong with my maths.. In fact my estimate of 2.5M with 1 jab wasn't far away.. https://www.tatnews.org/category/covid-19-stats/
-
The adult population (Aged 18+) of Thailand is ~53M. Assume ~2.5M have had 1st dose already, balance is ~50.5M... With only 7 months remaining this year that would require 7.2M injections monthly, 240,000 daily. Tall order... bottleneck will be vaccine supply and assumes 24/7 injections, no days off!!
-
Why is that Govt don't know how to use calculators or spreadsheets? To get 70% population injected with 1 jab by end Sept they would have to administer ~380k injections per day, never going to happen in a million years. Where is Govt magically going to get 11.5M vaccines a month? Talk is cheap, they must think Thais are imbeciles to believe this latest fantasy BS from the Govt.
-
Anutin needs to cut back on his medication as it's affecting his judgement. To prattle on about achieving herd immunity (70% of the population) by the end of Sept just isn't going to happen. Simple maths indicate that it would require 360,000 jabs daily starting from today to reach the 49M target (70% pop) which was the number recently quoted by the Czar. A developed country like the UK with an unlimited number of vaccine has only given 37M jabs (55% pop) to date... https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/vaccinations

Thai Govt are the masters of misunderstandings and flip-flops. The ability to neither confirm or deny from one day to another...

TAT's budget has probably been halved due to reduced number of arrivals this year. Phiphat must have come up with a novel idea to replenish the war chest (slush fund)...

From memory was the Minister not part of the personal body guard unit for the King so perhaps he is getting protection from above? He has also changed his name 3 or 4 times, I guess in the hope that people will not link him to his past misdemeanors?

Isaan accounts for 30% of the Thai population but the numbers being reported by some of the large populated Issan Provinces is relatively low. This is either due to a shortage of test kits or the numbers are being finagled, after all "Face" means everything here in Thailand.

This is going to be nice earner for the boys in the tight brown uniforms. 2 tier pricing will be applied for sure if the person not wearing the mask is a Farang.

Anutin seems to prefer to be photographed wearing his white tunic these days. Is this to lull the public into thinking he is a doctor and knows what he is talking about? I hope most netizens realize that he his degree is in Engineering not Medicine. He also holds a PhD in BS...

According to TAT Newsroom they only managed to give 27,000 jabs yesterday. I guess they are not working so much on a Sunday. Unfortunately CV19 doesn't have days off.. https://www.tatnews.org/2021/06/thailand-covid-19-situation-as-of-7-june-2021-12-30-hrs-2/
