I'm pretty sure that Anutin's family (Sino-Thai Eng & Construction) are heavily involved in this high speed rail link.

Anybody have recent experience of flying to Phuket from Bangkok or Chiang Mai? I live in Chiang Mai, lived in Thailand 20+ years, speak Thai, fully vaccinated, have had booster (3 jabs) do I still need to show a recent PCR test to board? Are you then tested in Phuket airport on arrival? Phuket being the hub of scams I'm still worried that they will conveniently find Expats +ve to boost hospital revenues...

Bring both. They did not ask me, but I had passport and vaccination doc with me. They did look it over as it is a US, CDC card showing 2 Pfizer injections.
Three or more people helped me get squared away, and now I’m on the Thai system. No one cared that it was NOT 6 months. Saying that it was Tuesday, right after it opened, not many people. I just happened to meet a guy on the escalator, who had that med clinic vest on. I asked, I was only 5 months vaccinated, but would like to get a booster. He was - sure, come on up, lets do it. I had a choice of Pfizer or Moderna for the booster. I went with Moderna for the cocktail effect.
Way cool having everyone on the same page, going one direction and wanting to get things done. I usually say bad things about Thai bureaucracy and government agencies. I will not ….. …. for at least a week.
LomSak... regarding your post above, what is the location in Chiang Mai? Cheers...

Nothing will ever change in Thailand with the dinosaurs at the helm unless it directly effects the Elite. Peons are collateral damage when travelling by road, rail or bus. The Thai Elite 1% travel by air and probably don't give a second thought about the daily carnage and anybody else's welfare.... Thainess...

TAT press releases are always good for a laugh. One thing you are guaranteed with the Ministry of Tourism announcements, is a catchy slogan & unrealistic targets.

In the past week the Govt is now recommending that people get a booster following 3 months after their 2nd vaccine injection. Many people, myself included got the Sino/AZ combo back in August at McCormick Hospital so I guess we qualify for the booster. Anybody heard of any places that are providing the booster?

Singaporeans will pissing themselves laughing at how Thailand has been classed as no.1 in Asia by the Global Health Security Index. To be expected I guess, after all Thailand is the HUB of all things...

The TAT is so screwed up. The fact that there is both a Governor and a Minister for Tourism says it all... Fortunately TAT has a magic crystal ball and a calculator so we can all get a good laugh daily with all their predictions....

I hope that some of the western media outlets get wind of these absurd penalties for taxi drivers in Thailand. Only in Thailand (cuckoo land) could the "powers that be" sanction convicted taxi drivers with up to (3) DUI convictions, to ferry tourists around... Mai Pen Rai...

Anutin's expensive shrink resides in Switzerland, unfortunately he cannot visit in person as he has only had Chinavac vaccines... Ai Thai mit Sinovac Verboten..

Just another example of how the Govt is totally out of touch with the people that it is supposed to be representing. Offer the Vax abstainers one the well know Farang Vaccines and I'm sure that will satisfy a majority of them....

Wise... long delays this morning, been showing arrive 8 hours now saying tomorrow. Been using them for years and normally get within minutes, sometimes seconds. Is it because it's Monday morning? I'm sure that I've used Wise on Mon before but not experienced delays like this.

Thailand has had its day, its other Asian neighbors offer better value. The Bell Curve will play out now. Govt were in dreamland if they thought the 39M Tourists from 2019 were exponential. They should cancel the extra terminal/runway at swampy as it wont be needed... Would be great to see tourism go back to ~5M when I came for the first time in the late 80's. Thais were happy, no rip-off taxi drivers, jet ski operators etc..., bring back the good old days...

A journalist should ask the MOPH doctor why it's okay to drink alcohol in certain busy areas of Bangkok such as Khao San Road, but not okay to drink in an open air bar in Pattaya. Does BKK serve Covid Free alcohol...

Govt as usual blowing smoke up their ass if they think that 50K arrivals is a roaring success. As has been said in other posts majority will be returning Expats with their Thai partners.. By all accounts on Twitter, Facebook there are very few tourists... Som Nam Na TAT, must try harder..

If Thai Factory/Construction owners paid Thais a fair wage then it wouldn't be necessary to hire all the Cambodian/Laos/Myanmar workers. Naturally that will never happen as owners want to maximize their profits by exploiting a cheaper labour force.

Bet you $10 there will be a misunderstanding riposte tomorrow from Anutin or the Ministry. Anutin's people submitted an incorrect vaccine certificate, he does in fact have a cert with 2 AZ doses... The Sinovac shots were just for publicity...

Hi ubonjoe, not sure if you understood my query. I have been living in Thailand for 6 years on retirement extension, so if i went to UK for 1 month holiday and then came back to my home in Thailand, i would be classed as a tourist requiring health insurance? That doesn't sound right to me
Richard Barrow has recently tweeted that if you have an existing policy you can use it.

Why is Anutin just acting now? Probably due to a number of papers running stories about the shortage of beds in the hospitals to treat CV19 patients.. Since the 1st Oct. there have been 7,370 confirmed CV19 cases in Chiang Mai.

No doubt Anutin won't miss out on the chance of some publicity and will be at the airport on Monday to greet the 1st few groups of arrivals. Will he be handing out masks and hand gel to all the dirty Farang... ????
