  1. Up to about 25-30 yrs ago the only females that iI noticed with a tattoo were bar girls. Now while it’s more of a fashion statement, I personally do not like them on females and still tend to think of them as ladies of the night.
  2. Are you stating that the USA is part of the U.K. while Canada is in Outer Slobovia?
  3. NHS from day 1, although my son Thai born with British citizenship was required by a foreign born bureaucrat at the NHs hospital to prove his residency even after 4 yrs in the UK. Illegal Economic migrants can make use of the NHS on day 1.Same for dental treatment for which a British citizen may have to Waite weeks/ months and then be required to pay.
  4. Yes, she is entitled to 1/3 rd state pension. The minimum requirement is 10 yrs.
  5. When you return your state pension reverts to the pension applicable to that date. Should you return to Thailand within 2 yrs your pension will return to the rate of your previous frozen pension. If you remain in the UK for 2yrs or more and then return to live in Thailand, your pension will once again be frozen to the rate of when you return. Nobody has mentioned that pensions paid by local government or other government departments are not frozen. The same applies to the high pension received by MP. Therefore we must conclude that Their cost of living increases each year unlike those suffered by those on a frozen pension.
  6. it is successive British governments who have refused to make an agreements with most other countries, mainly Canada,Australia, New Zealand etc etc. By living in Thailand he is actually saving the British Government money as he does not receive a free bus pass, possible subsidised housing and of course the use of the NHS. Just think if all the elderly British ex - pats returned home the NHs would collapse. He and all the elderly ex - pats are in fact saving the British Exchequer billions a year, what I cannot understand is why successive government have not been savvy enough to realize that by encouraging the elderly to emigrate the country would save a fortune. Another factor to consider is that British pensioners receive approximately £10,000 pa, maybe after paying into the system for 40+ years, while the cost of the Illegal Economic migrants is approximately £42,000 pa.
  7. A Yorkshireman https://fb.watch/ze9cJUs2_d/?
  8. During the Briext arguements in 2016 the British were threatened with an increase in food cost if we voted to leave the E.U. The result has been exactly the opposite with lower food prices in the U.K. Sent from France where I am now.
  9. You mean like Makrons .E.U is trying to bully the U.K from becoming closer to the USA.
  10. Yes, this was 25yrs ago. My Thai teacher nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to understand my coconut Thai.
  11. I think it’s you that is the arrogant one. Some people including myself have found it very different to learn Thai or any foreign language, while others seem to pick it up quite easlly. Same as the ability to learn a musical instrument, not all can do. I have one friend who can speak many languages, yet has difficulty in adding 2+2.
  12. I remember 20-30 yrs ago a German lady was killed on a zebra crossing in Ao Nang. Then for the next couple of months the police actually did there job and made sure vehicles stopped for the pedestrian on the crossing. Then it became too much of an effort and consequently the drivers reverted to their selfish driving style.
  13. My Uk pension has just gone up now nearly £800.00 / month or about 34,500 baht. Don’t believe everything the UK government tells you.
  14. I think the biggest problem for Hua Hin is the pollution and unfortunately I cannot see it improving.
  15. I take it your not British otherwise you would not talk such utter ignorance.
  16. There’s me thinking this tread was about the THAI restaurant business.
  17. From what I’ve heard it’s mostly due to the increase in rents by very rich Thais
  18. Tried many massage shops in Hua Hin for a proper Thai massage as trained by Wat Po. Unfortunately no success as they all wanted to provide the extras. In fact I was actually thrown out of one shop for refusing to have a happy ending, understandable I suppose as that’s how they make the most money.
  19. talking about corruption, how is Labour doing.
  20. it’s about time that the threshold was increased from the present rate of £12,500. all that is happening at the moment is that people are relying on benefits as they consider paying tax on earnings as low as £12500 not worth the effort.
  21. A friend of mine called Chris ( ex miner ) had a highly charged teenage son, who was causing a lot of problems. One day his wife rang him and explained the son was playing up, so Chris went home and gave his son a good beating. The outcome was his son thanked him many years later, saying that if his father had not taken that stern action he would most certainly have finished up in prison, instead of the good person he grew up to be. Would this be applicable to all children I think not, as all children are different.
  22. How about control of our boarders for a start,Without the interference of the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.
  23. As a Brit can one of you Americans inform me which unit of the American service did Trump serve in and for how long.
  24. Because most people realize that you cannot trust Putin, as the Ukrainians already know all to well from their past experience in signing a treaty with him. This is why many people in Europe are comparing Trump to Neville Chamberlain.
