  1. Wonder if Iran should be considering an armed intervention on the US to help quell the demonstrations in the US - including the fatal ones?
  2. I answer ALL calls. They might by my friends with new SIMS; delivery people; village headman's wife calling for a party; or whomever. Years ago I used to keep them on line while I had a pee or went for a walt, or whatever. Doesn't work now, Good grief. I can decide if I have made a friend of them - terminate the call and block the number. SO CAN YOU!
  3. We live not far from the border and have attempted to cross into Tachileik regularly. Unable to do so since prior to Covid. Why, we have asked? Answer has always been the same. "It is not safe". The asked the officer why Thai and Burmese are able to cross back and forth but foreigners are not able to do so. It there less safety required for Thai and Burmese? Shrugs. About 2 years ago we actually got to the second control point at the Thai Customs and Immigration Border Crossing using only ID cards (Pink and Blue). But stopped there and asked what we thought we were doing! And sent back. Now.. a number of claims have been made by tourists and ex-pats in the past 5 or 6 years of making day crossings to Tachiliek market. Please take all of those claims with a pound of salt (or saltpetre, if you wish). No such thing. The border officers seem to know us well by now and every time we approach them, a smile and a shake of their heads. My wife goes across by herself without a problem ............ just using the form supplied by the Amphur Office and a copy of her ID card. Tried that many times. Have always been refused even the form.
  4. The aircraft is his personal Socata TBM - a 930 if I remember correctly. Thailand has similar regs to those in Canada and many other countries of the world - the pilot/owner must stay current. Hence his willingness (even eagerness) to undertake flights like this. He has an IFR rating and that really must be coddled carefully and regularly.
  5. No changes made on my end - but the issue resolved "itself" about 10 minutes ago (I assume at the host end).
  6. My usual unaltered IP does not work in any forums - from Thailand. If I switch to a VPN, say to US, works perfectly.
  7. Dr. Vipawan Endocrinology Section, Specialty Department, Chiang Mai RAM Hospital
  8. There is another option that avoids the inheritance courts completely. I KNOW it is possible at the Bangkok Bank, probably at others as well; a hidden co-signee. Talk to your Bank branch clerk or manager about it. 100% legal, no problems with Immigration.
  9. Real or Memorex, the Germans would love that. They are itching to invade Russia again for the fourth time.
  10. And again. Checked it out yesterday. From a month ago, VERY little work has been done to clean up the big mess from last fall. But local officials suggested that most of the money allocated for clean-up and fixing has already gone been spent. The Sai Lum Joy market was under water again starting at the foot of the customs house. The pile of compacted mud at the bottom of the customs house hill is still here - perhaps 10% has been removed. Almost none of the work planned for the banks and dredging of the Sai River through the City has been done. Sad state of affairs.
  11. Maximum Sound on Changklan Road used to be able to assist, but last time I was there, they weren't actually open. :-( 053 819 379 If no local, call CT Music in Bangkok - they can refer you. 089-786-6306.
  12. My pink card solves THAT issue.
  13. It was never closed. The 'story' is a hoax.
  14. I would have a talk with Dr. Yuddhasert Sirirungruangsarn at the RAM. Strongly recommended.
  15. Which Doctor? There are several and vary in skill levels.
  16. Strongly suggest your local Toyota dealer. If this is not a dealer-purchased car, try Toyota Nakornping in Hang Dong.
  17. It is true. And I'm a neutral. Want recent examples? Look at the NY Times the 3 weeks before the start of the Gaza War. MANY examples of the Israeli's attempting to block Gaza from the outside world. And you deny that?
  18. I am a non-EV user. I had always assumed I would be (amoung) the first to adopt EV technology, but always found reasons why I shouldn't. We live in the country - East of CM and West of CR. 3 months ago our area got it's first charging station. There are now 4. While I have picked the EV car I want to buy, I am still very stressed about the decision - after reading all the issues people are having with getting charging stations to work correctly, and actually paying for that. My 14-year old Innova works great. When it needs fuel, I stop at any of a kazillion gas stations; and pay with cash (remember that paper stuff???). Switch to EV? Not yet.
  19. No... and not likely to be open this year.
  20. Seems a lot of people have forgotten the over-a-million that died from Covid in the USA. And still killing about a thousand people a week in the USA. MAGA (just without a lot of people who would otherwise be alive and contributing to society.)..... Sigh
