  1. I stick with Mitsubishi because they stood by me & fixed my 305 that I installed under the water line in which I though was a waterproof housing so the Kamoies wouldn't steal the pump off the well till we built our house. While the installation would have required 3 hours to cut rip & break out the pump it flooded that year real bad. When I got the pump out it was fried due to being 3/4 's submersed in water. A blind man can see I error-ed & caused the damage.

Mitsubishi 3 days later sent me a brand new unit free of charge to Kangyong & they brought it out to me 20 kilo's away. All it cost me was a tip for the driver. I never put anything underground like that again, but they got my loyalty for doing the right thing & they really have some great equipment. Not sure about Hitachi. They should be just as good but I am not sure how well they stand behind their product compared to Mitsubishi. I have had 5 Pumps in 3 properties & short of my mistake they all were great.

  2. I have never seen cedar here. Import it from the U.S. is the only way 11 year looking No Hab. Does not grown in Hot & humid climates & there are so few Americans that is a real niche item. If you really want it get it online in the states & have them ship Internationally & arrange an agent to make sure it goes to you without problems. Been trying for years to get cedar pre made closet panels so far that is the best info I have found.

  3. They have a new thing about regulations. because of the Fed X plane that went down with lithium batteries in it the Government & postal has turned totally anal & has been checking everything for batteries. They list no smart phones ghetto blasters cameras & video recorders even without batteries in them . I had a long talk with the Post master in Ban Ampur about the problem sending an SD card( memory card-not a battery) & he pointed to 14 opened boxes in the post office not sent. The list he handed me was not even close to the real hazard list & they are mis informed big time. I brought him a Hard drive a Usb stick & 2 memory chips(all cameras & phones use them) and showed there are absolutely no batteries inside. So if anything going in fro m the states or out(or any other country) this is part of the reason. Extra tea money undoubtedly is the other part. Lots of new international rules & the Thai shipping system is passing out poor info & believe me that will slow anything to a crawl. Even anything in or out of Hong Kong is crazy & getting checked unless the backhanders have been paid so they can ship 100,000 battery's & avoid scrutiny. I know it seems crazy but other U.S. citizens are getting burned or mail slowed down so they can verify if the restrictions prohibit sending. I wouldn't doubt they would think the cat food is some kind of acid that can be used for making batteries. They are just ill informed & the general is making it harder not easier to ship.

  4. Had personally very bad experience with SCB in second road, whereas their branch in Ban Chang is excellent. Kasikorn in Ban Chang was as arrogant as can be, great experience in Bangkok. The list goes on..

Same here mate I tried to wire $350.00 back to the U.S. to give my sister Same bank on 2nd rd main branch said they do not recognize a U.S. account they tried to show me UK's numbers I pointed out that US is US not UK so they in the end to make a 3hr waiting story short They would attempt to send the money to my account & if it didn't make it I lose the $350.00 & 1650 baht commission. I finally just left 11 years of frustration with this banks idiocy. I went down to western union 600 baht There in 2 minutes. I don't care for any of the banks here. In a western country the 3rd graders are better at business & more polite. They could use a little class & retraining for sure.

  5. We had a borehole specialist that quoted 40,000 baht for 20-25 meters + another say 30,000 baht for a 3/4 - 1 hp.Franklin pump pending on where you get it Or if you just wanted a basic on -off switch pump You turn it on & off you can get up to a 2 horsepower pump for dirt cheap. But it has zero electronics you are the on to turn the pump on & off. He is out of Rayong which is a bazillion kilos from where you are. We wanted to put in a borehole here but the plots are 1nagn & there isn't enough room if your neighbor decides to put his septic system closer than 30 meter to your water supply so it just wouldn't work. We have adequate water supply from the government water & while everyone has 3/4"-1" pipes we have 3" pipes same size as the county put in & then transduced it down to 1" everyone runs out of water here except us we need 1 tank of water in low season Our neighbor that was cheaping out put in 3/4" off the 3" main & he gets 2 -3 tanks full every month during low season. Way cheaper to go large & unrestricted then make it smaller piping into the meter & then 1" pipes on the hose bibs outside & your 1/2" to 3/4" into the inside. I wish I could find a 1" meter so we would never need that 1 tank a year but it is only 120 baht for a year. When you are digging the well if they hit that Iron ferrite rock(may be misspelled) it is a bear , the boys had to take an angle grinder & cut squares & remove them with a chisel for our first septic pit on our old house. Nightmare . Easier to just have an excavator come in & whack through the rock they just weld the broken claw pieces back on the claw if it breaks later. And way quick 750 baht & done in an hour with the rings lowered down into the hole & gravel spread around the ring. On a well you definitely want rock & not dirt around the outside of the rings as the other scholars have said. unless you like silt & mud. We learned the hard way the guy that put in our massive well put dirt around the rings & we had crapolla water(just muddy) till we moved. Live & learn!

  6. Not sure on the price but your in Pattaya eh? find an outfit with a high power sprayer. They won't need to flood the condo wallpaper lifts off fairly easy & quickly with little water & a lot of pressure. I am sure if you are in a major city someone will have that setup it is by far the easiest or a hot steamer set up so it comes off the wall. So the painters can prep & paint the wall after. Unless there is epoxy underneath Thai glues come right up. But scraping it off could take a while & leave the cement uneven with gouging tool or Spackle blades digging in & causing blemishes.

  7. And when you take apart the pump housing if a bolt snaps you better hope you have a great set of easy outs taps & dies once that bolt replacement isn't in perfect you get the tiny leak that makes the pump cycle over & over. It can be very frustrating working in an already to tight area ask me how I know this.School of hard knocks!

  8. Just strip the wallpaper I don't think I ever heard to many people to satisfied when it either lifts or the paint peals or chips later. Even in the states My folks tried that & the painter did all the right prep & a year later it sucked. Unless you feel like the one lucky farang I would do the job right & start fresh The condo cant be too huge. But if your on a budget & want to scrimp you may pay the piper later & end up doubling the cost when you strip it down to start over. School of hard Knocks. But the smart ones learn after they error.

  9. That many year I would bite the bullet & get a new pump. Chances are the impeller is worn & since the pump has been giving you problem I would just spend the 5000-7500 on a new pump & problem solved. They are not really made to go much past the warranty mark or else the companies go out of business.

  10. (removed). I got nailed on a "no left on red" corner recently. At the police station a crowd, mostly farangs lined up to pay. 400Bt every 3 minutes. Nice.

I went back to get my license and the cop had a huge stack of confiscated licenses and took 5 minutes to sort mine from the pile.

Was it on Pattaya thai the no turn on left are written really strange if you speak English. It looks like stop first & then go. They nailed me & I complained & the Volunteer

Farang got the fine reduced to 200 baht. Even the desk Sargent agreed that it was written wrong but couldn't lose face so they had to charge something.

  11. I won't stop for a rent a cop period they have zero authority . They have to get a real cop to give you a ticket. Just wave and keep on going. The only place I will stop is at the inspection station near the Kawasaki shop they have the brown & yellow Highway patrol(or the equivalent) & can ruin your day. I do not have a clue why anyone would waste their retirement time to have people dislike them.

  12. I went to 3 branches. Each branch gave me 2 burgers. I also went to The Avenue but that was the only branch with a long queue.

Damn I couldn't eat that many breakfast or burgers in one sitting! But I kill in a crab buffet! I think I would be turning green around the gills with that many egg mcmuffins or sausage mcmuffins But nice of them to throw down the free grind!

  13. Wantan I made reference to those two un quality posters a smith has about 6 posts stating he hates bikes & absolutely enjoys terrorizing the rider with his truck A road rager. I had to post every one of his road rage rants to get him off this forum. He is giving advise to riders but did not only not own a bike but never owned a bike & is afraid of him. I am neither a brain surgeon or an artist so you will never find me pretending to be one & give advise on either subject. Just not right. Showgirl has no bike either. He pops in on all the forums & just loves to stir the pot a real loser lonely kind of guy & most likely never had a friend his entire life. The one with the pig with lipstick.I gave him that avatar & he used it for a while LOL! Neither of those 2 posters ever have had anything to offer & while everyone is welcome to join in I just don't get what satisfaction that these people are getting just being disruptive. I would much rather agree to disagree on things about bikes instead of being in Say a Pattaya forum that most of the Expats are so grumpy that it isn't a joy to converse with.Even when I am on that forum I try to be helpful because Thailand is a bitch at best for a foreigner & any help on any thing is always appreciated. Now if I see anyone's bike dead on the road I always stop & offer assistance . I know what it can be like to have a broken down machine(not that it happens to me often as I take very good care of my equipment) but one can have an unforeseen thing go south.Even though I am not into Harleys any more I will stop for them too as The way I see it we are all brothers in arms taking a chance every time we jump on our rides & I personally believe as most of us on the forum will stop & aid someone even if it is just a scooter because most have good hearts & offer camaraderie to fellow riders. Biking isn't just a sport it is a way of life. So I wasn't singling out the usual TV members Heck I am friends with most in various degrees. In fact my best friend I know in Thailand I met on this forum years ago & am thankful for that!

  14. First I would like to say that Peace Blondie is still active on this forum, but mainly related with Chiang Mai… Peace Blondie had a few years ago a stroke, and is still recovering… and sure Peace Blondie has not posted much on Thaivisa, I guess and respect that other things are much more important if you struggle to put a spoon into your mouth than posting on Thaivisa. I hope with all my heart that Peace Blondie ever finds the passion for motorcycles again and joins us on this forum. I can say that nobody is censuring Peace Blondie, I also have the idea that I hear that Peace Blondie requested to not be an moderator on Thaivisa anymore… That had nothing to do with censoring or freedom of speech….

I know him personally & knew about his condition years ago & he was a very good person as well!

  15. You know if the site would dedicate more time to kick out the dweebs like Showgirl & mr smith snake eyes that never have anything good to say & do not even own bikes I am sure most of us would agree that would be a great service to TV so the serious riders & I am not talking about cc.size would greatly appreciate it. If you wanna whine go to the local bitching forums so you can enjoy getting intoxicated on Loa koa or beer Chang when your bored. I find all the people I ride with & even speak with on this site to be really cool people & I am glad to meet everyone's acquaintances & build friendships with others that share the same things in common.

All the guys I met up with in Bira were all cool to talk with & info shared always a joy. My rides I have been on were a lot of fun & would like to see that continue.Just about all of us agree we would rather see the forum like the good old days so the ones of us that haven't shared Tele numbers or Emails don't get lost in the fray if we start drifting apart. I mean isn't that the meaning of life to enjoy each others company in a sport that we all share a common interest in. Or at least part of life at any rate. Looking forward to a lucky year with change of hearts welcome. And even though I may not agree on all points shared it is better than becoming a lone wolf & not being able to socialize. 11 years here & I can say not to many people I didn't care for on this forum. Pattaya forum I wish I could say the same, but people often times go out of their way to be grumpy & not so much fun. But the bike forum is a way healthy outlet & I hate to see old friends wanting to leave when it does not have to be this way.

  16. Totally the wrong bike for that get an enduro or a D tracker like Dilligad mentioned. That is as ridiculous as taking my ER6n to a motocross event in an arena. Just don't do it. At least it is not Chinese & all the parts wont fall off but you will be replacing a lot of parts & faring parts for what. Pony up & get an enduro if you want to off road. The highways & roadways are hard enough on any street bike let alone a scooter. Get a nice Enduro if you want to be able to punish the ride & not be walking home pushing whats left of the PCX. That is the last type of scooter I think I would do that with. I used one for 3 months & it is NOT a dirtbike by no means!

  17. huh peace blondie hasn't posted on here for years...biggrin.png

i still like the forum ,over the years you learn to ignore the idiots and let them play there silly trolling games,i don't feel the need to start new topics and comment on every topic there is but if i think there is b.s. going on i will point it out and sometimes make a funny sarcastic comment,of coarse this can then lead to a little heated debate....so what if peoples opinions differ from mine,i don't care its only a internet forum,i will say there does seem to have been a few bad decisions made lately on the forum, and some people do like to try and bait some of the people that actually do get out and ride in thailand ,but then if your stuck sitting at your laptop all day i suppose boredom sets in and thats all they have to do in life.

Not the petty arguments that are a bother but the lack of free speech sucks! I like difference of opinions. it would be boring if we were all the identical clones. But I wish TVland was not as heavy handed now as it was in the past . (DELETE - Discuss Moderation)

  18. Maybe a nice 8 track deck to go with it. I don't get it why not spend the money on some cool mads for your real bike.your 1/2 way there to a full Apropovic full exhaust system that does something & spend 600 baht on a full poster of your favorite bike & put that on the wall instead. looks like something the scared idiotic & rich would have in their house (except they would pay someone to assemble & paint. Wouldn't want to get their hands dirty LOL!

  19. Okay we get it. You're a loner with no mates.

Well, er, no. Actually not. Just that I enjoy my bike much more when I'm alone with her between the hedgerows. biggrin.png

Just not my kind of thing.

I guess real riding is kind of a freedom, spiritual thing for some of us.

Hate to be rude but you sound like a bore . you sure you even have a bike. You don't sound like you do. most bikers enjoy the camaraderie of other riders 7 it is fun to meet who you talk with online all the time but you sound pretty new Never seen your name on this forum before. Maybe you"re more into wasting away in

Beerchangsville ! enjoy your riding Lone wolf sounds like a good avatar for you! Ho Po
