Really good for the garden I would leave well alone unless you are allergic. They're not really aggressive unless you mess with their nest. I don't have any in my garden now since the wife took out the mango tree and we are now plagued by other bugs which destroy our veggies and fruit. Never a problem when we had the weaver ants, they killed them all. I want them to come back, so be careful what you wish for.

Does anyone know of a good kennel to look after my dog for a couple of weeks in April. We live in Bang Saray and our local one has closed as the man has gone home to Cambodia. South of Pattaya to Ban Chang area would be best.

Great now you won't even hear the Baht buses when they mow you down.
Seriously though, when we visited Hong Kong, there are lots of Tesla's etc. and they were pretty much silent. I never realised how much I relied on my ears when walking around or crossing the road.

This report should go hand in hand with the other one stating Bangkok is one of the healthiest cities in the world.

Make the authors of the report breath the air and drink the water, take a walk and ride a motorbike for six months if they survive, then perhaps they may want to review what they wrote.

I read that the island had reopened again for tourists, but couldn't visit again until this week. Arrived at Bali Hai pier in time for the 09.00 ferry. A very rude and loud little man stopped us and told us to get out our smart phones and swipe in with the Mor Chana app. However I could not as my phone is a little old and the memory is full. The wife told him that we are together but he was adamant that EVERYONE has to do it, no phone app no ferry. It was no problem last year after the first wave as we visited a few times. They are turning away many tourists so I'm sure the near bankrupt restaurants etc. there will be very happy. They lost 4 sun loungers, 4 meals and 2 motorcycle rentals I hope they are happy. So if you are thinking of visiting be aware EVERYONE has to have the app, that includes granny and any children. Unbelievable even for Thailand. I will not be sorry if they all go bust. I will NOT be returning there, there are many other places to visit where I am sure we will be welcomed. We had travelled for 50 mins to get there please don't travel a long way for nothing.

I remember all the paperwork involved when buying a house everything done on paper then done again on the computer, which of course was initially brought in to do away with the time consuming paperwork. Not to mention the storage issues. Everything the taking twice the time. The only country in the world where computers make the job more time consuming.

Waiting for it to be lifted for Chonburi as we would like to visit this coming school holiday. Not sure yet of the dates for the holiday but hopefully it should be lifted soon, or we will go somewhere else in Thailand.

Great to hear some good news for a change.

I don't think Thailand will stop quarantine and allow vaccinated tourists in without restriction. The simple reason being that at best, vaccination will be 90% effective. So for every 1000 tourists a potential 100 could be carrying the disease. I think we will have to wait until a large percentage of Thais (most) are vaccinated. That will take some time as they have been very slow off the mark so far. Sometime in 2022 is realistic.

Hopefully when my daughter is back at school we shall go for the day. It's quite nice now without mass tourists not quite as good as it used to be as they have built some jetty's and other things on some of the beaches and ruined them, pick the right beach very nice. Navy beaches in Sattahip which are also nice are still closed, maybe open in February.

I would like to see any tax on food stopped. There is no real competition for food prices the supermarkets seem to get together to arrange pricing. Looking at what is charged they must be making huge profits. Wages, fuel costs here are much cheaper than Europe but many things are more expensive and not just imported goods. Picked a jar of Tesco's own brand pasta sauce it was double what you would pay in the UK I thought that will be tax and shipments cost making it more expensive, then noticed it was made in Thailand. How can the price be justified. Many more examples on the shelves.

Can't trust anything from China especially if the government has anything to do with it. They operate on silence, denial and lies.

Do not forget the vaccine gives you up to 90% immunity, it does not stop you being a carrier. You will still be able to catch Covid from a vaccinated person, if unvaccinated.
Also it would benefit the population as a whole if everyone was vaccinated as its only 90% max effective. I don't expect the Thai government to vaccinate me for free, but I would hope I wouldn't be ripped off buying it. 400 -600 I have paid for vaccines for the time I have been here, there is no reason for the Astra Zeneca to cost more. They can shove the Chinese one where the sun don't shine.

Can you really trust anything that is from China? They have lied about Covid 19 from the beginning. I will not have a Chinese vaccine injected into my body thank you. No side effects, I don't believe you.

Went there a few years ago, absolute rubbish. Had to remove shoes on the beach which had lots of broken glass on it. A complete rip off and a waste of time and energy.
-
I have been trying to find out if the ice rink was still open. I don't think so as they don't answer the phone anymore, and that was before this latest spike in covid.

They will go where they are told, see only what they are shown. This should have been done a year ago and they should have been given free access. Now everything has been cleaned up and you can bet your money there will be no blame, just an unfortunate act of nature.

Notice that India did not participate and many other countries too. Basmati rice is my favourite.

Done the yellow book and pink ID card a few years ago. At Pattaya driving licence renewal centre they would not accept it as proof of residence so still needed a letter from immigration. Very hit an miss too as to whether you get in a National park at the Thai price. Personally I don't think it's worth the cost and hassle.

I have been buying things from Lazada for a few years now without problems until recently. (I never returned anything before) I had to return some bedding which was the wrong size. I had some difficulty doing it on the computer but got there in the end and sent it back with Kerry. The refund still hasn't been given three months later. It will be added to your wallet for future shopping, no it wasn't. When I queried this they then said they needed a copy of my passport to activate my wallet, so I took a photo and added it electronically to their form. OK up to three weeks and it will be paid, no it wasn't. I have been on to them again they now needed my bank details to pay it into my account, 5 working days guess what, it wasn't done. I chased them again this week and they now need the passport copy and bank details again and also my passport Lazada account copy whatever that is within 48 hours or I will lose it. Apparently this is due to money laundering but I believe it's just an excuse to take money from foreigners. You should all be aware just how difficult they will make it to return your money, Thais do not have this problem only foreigners launder money it seems.

People in his position with valid visas should be put before tourists. Also there should be in place a means to renew the visa so they don't have to start again from scratch. It's not hard to be fair.

Who's going to get this cash wife lost her hairdressing job earlier this year she applied for the government help, got not a penny and non of her workmates either got anything either, most of the hairdressers have now gone bust. I wonder who actually got the money and who will receive this? Not the poor who've lost their jobs I'm sure.
Koh Larn. Read this before you try to visit.

I just wanted people to know you would not be allowed on a ferry if you personally do not have the app (and your passport). I feel that the app is a bit invasive (but I can't get it on my phone either) as do many Thais who don't use it. It has been used as a means of tracking people for political ends.
