  1. We're enjoying our stay in Phuket. Good weather, cheap 5* hotel, very friendly staff, empty clean beaches and sea, many special deals... Has there ever been a better time to visit? Not in the last 28 years since I came here first!
  2. If you buy private hand over all the money only at the DLT when ownership is transferred. You must submit insurance proof at the same time.
  3. To be fair, Phuket announced for 1. July has implemented the sandbox on time. If CM will follow the same path then you will need to stay within a designated area for 14 nights, must sleep every night in your pre-paid SHA+ hotel, have Morchana app on at all times, and do 3 pre-paid Covid tests during the first 12 days. You can visit your home if it's within the area, but you're not allowed to spend the night there.
  4. Wife and I fully vaccinated with Moderna. Vaccinated overseas.
  5. All posts are accurate. You will have more paperwork with the sandbox (proof of vaccination, arrange and pre-pay 3 covid tests at the sandbox location), and similar over all cost. I'm in Phuket right now, believe me, it's a million times more acceptable than quarantine, I can move around and do, eat, drink etc. what I want.
  6. 1. My wife has a health insurance in Thailand, they also issue the required Covid certificate. Several insurers offer Covid only insurance in Thailand, and for sandbox, she needs one. 2. No sandbox hotel is allowed to include covid tests, you need to book them separately as per guide line before obtaining the final CoE. Find the test location close to your hotel when booking, so it's easy to get there. Initially it was intended that the hotels can handle the tests, but this did not work. Anyone offering the tests did not adjust their website and might or might not deduct the price for it (8000 Baht pp) when booking. Obviously, ASQ quarantine hotels do include the tests, as you're not allowed to leave your room for 14 or 15 days. 3. My wife and I got the CoE issued within 3 days, other embassies might take a little longer. Certainly, sandbox is a million times better than quarantine, but slightly more expensive over all unless you only eat Thai Street food for 14 days. 4. Flights most likely will run, but can't say for sure until the day you require it. We will be hiring a private car which will take a few hours but not much longer door to door and will not require any additional Covid tests. There are a few steps involved, but if you follow the guide published on the Thai embassy website it is quite straight forward. You must apply for CoE in the country you start your trip from irrespective of your nationality and should have stayed in that country for 21 days before departure.
  7. You cannot renew the work permit or apply for one if you do not comply with the basic requirements for a work permit (4 Thai employees per foreigner). Visa is a different thing all together.
  8. Correct measures, same as in many European countries. It appears that the majority of people taking the effort of posting something here do not like this country. I'd say, accept it or live somewhere else.
  9. Leaving and returning the country on a valid visa requires you to get a re-entry permit. Do this after you renewed your visa, requires an additional form, and you can do a single re-entry during visa validity for 1000 Baht or multiple re-entries for 3800 Baht.
  10. There are several requirements, for example fluency of spoken Thai, funds, max. 100 individuals of each foreign country are considered each year, there is an application window which differs each year, etc. The visa requirements are min. 3 years of consecutive visa of the same type, non-O, marriage, or work, or retirement by the time of application. Employer etc. do not matter.
