Daily News Thai Caption: Copy Cat Farang Movie Killer! Daily News described the scene as chilling for hardened newshounds as a Bangkok area killer coolly admitted how he had dismembered his girlfriend's body and buried the pieces under the expressway. Charnwit "Don" Wongsahak, 35, was arrested after the death of 30 year old Oranan "Phim" Narathorn. Don cut up Phim into seven pieces in a rented room in Sukhumvit Road Soi 115 in Samut Prakan. He used a sharp knife, an axe and a saw. He then took all the bits dumping the tools in the Bang Khuat canal and burying Phim under the Chalong Rat expressway along Prasert Manukij Road in Bangkok. The media reported that the couple were real estate sales people who had been together for two years often meeting for liaisons at the condo room where the crime occurred. The suspect said that he had seen the techniques for cutting up a human body in a farang or western movie and used this to help him dismember the body of his girlfriend. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-10-03 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Close to the end Netizens were praising the driving ability of a pick-up driver after a motorcyclist came out of a gas station into their path. A TikTok video under the name spn_._._ showed a middle aged lady on a motorcycle come out into the right lane. Though she looks she is going far too slowly to pull off this move. This causes the pick-up to brake and veer sharply narrowly avoiding another person on a motorcycle. This was all caught on rear view cam footage with netizens convinced the good Thai driving averted disaster even if poor Thai driving started it in the first place, reported Daily News. Some 80% of all deaths on Thai roads involve motorcyclists. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-10-03 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Daily News Thai Caption: Prostitutes' star attractions A Russian and an Indian man are the latest victims of theft perpetrated by Beach Road prostituites in Pattaya on Thailand's eastern seaboard. The Russian was assailed by ladyboys and the Indian had a phone stolen from his room. The thefts totalling almost 140,000 baht were reported to the Muang Pattaya constabulary within minutes, reported Daily News. First up to tell Pol Capt Chanon Katebua what happened on a stroll on the beach was 31 year old Ivan I. from Russia. Picture: Daily News He said he was out for a peaceful perambulation of the beach area when he was accosted by two ladies packing what British tourists refer to as "meat and two veg". Despite Mr Ivan I. being adamant that he did not want a service in his room the ladyboys persisted in their lewd attentions. Finally he managed to break free of their caresses only to realise too late that he had been relieved of his 120,000 baht golden necklace. Picture: Daily News A glance back and it was evident that the thieves had melted into the background. Within moments Capt Chanon had another case. Picture: Daily News This time it was Indian national Mr Sekar M,, 29, who said that he had had a liaison with a Beach Road prostitute that had continued back in his room. When the deed was done so was Mr Sekar M. - the girl had lifted his 18,400 baht Huawei phone. Capt Chanon took all the particulars as local investigative forces prepared to swing into action on behalf of the let down tourists. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-10-03 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. By Thanaphum Charoensombatpanich Embattled national carrier – Thai Airways International Plc (THAI), has announced that it was in search of a ‘Chief Executive Officer’ who is ‘ethical’ and has ‘exemplified integrity’. These demands come for an airline that has been infamous over the decades for being the most corrupt organization. THAI, which has not made operating profit since its last profit reported in 2016, only reported a profit of 55.12 billion Baht all due to restructuring cost and not due to operations as most of the airline’s fleet were grounded as Thailand’s tourism industry was battered due to the Covid-19 outbreak. By Thanaphum Charoensombatpanich Thailand’s economic outlook looks bleaker than most anticipate it to be as some of the major sources of economic growth are likely to face turbulence in the months ahead as exports and tourism may not be able to live up to expectations as global economy goes in for a tailspin. Thailand, which has started to witness an economic revival after the opening of the country to tourism in July 2022, has seen the number of tourists in the month of August rise to 1.17 million, the 2nd month of more than 1 million tourists and it is expected to rise further in September when the data is released. Thailand’s other growth engine has been the export sector that has also continued to remain robust and the data from the Bank of Thailand (BoT) for the month of August 2022 showed that exports rose by 8.2% year-on-year although month-on-month the numbers were down slightly as global economy starts to slowdown. By Thai Newsroom Reporters DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER-cum-Palang Pracharath party leader Prawit Wongsuwan will likely be named partisan candidate for head of government in the next general election, a coalition MP confirmed Friday (Oct. 1). Pracharath MP Veerakorn Kumprakop said Prawit will likely be named one of a trio of Palang Pracharath candidates for head of government besides Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and the other partisan contestant in the nationwide election which is largely expected to be held early next year. The MP of Nakhon Sawan said Prayut can no longer be pitted for prime minister who might otherwise be legally allowed only to run the country for a two-year time following the next general election, given yesterday’s ruling of the Constitutional Court on his eight-year tenure which will last until 2025.
