Those who were planning to visit the center may instead head to the Institute of Dermatology at Victory Monument. Meanwhile, other vaccination sites around the country are still offering their free services. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul officially closed the Central Vaccination Center at Bang Sue Grand Station in Bangkok today. Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob and representatives of various agencies which lent support to the vaccination drive were also present at the closing ceremony. The center has operated for 477 days since May 24, 2021, and provided its service to some 3.5 million people. About 6.5 million doses of Covid vaccines were administered at the center. Mr. Anutin thanked medical personnel, volunteers, and supporting agencies for their contributions at the Central Vaccination Center. He and others at the closing ceremony sang a song to send off the personnel at the center, who will be returning to their original posts. Those who have been planning to receive service from the central vaccination center may instead visit the Institute of Dermatology near Victory Monument. In October, the institute will offer Covid vaccination on the 1st, 8th, and 29th. Visit time is from 9 am to 3 pm. The health ministry is also providing free vaccination services at various healthcare facilities nationwide. According to Dr Aekkachai Piansriwatchara, a deputy director of the Department of Health, people are still required to wear face masks and respect social distancing when using public transport and going to the cinema. Regular cleaning of contact points and surfaces in higher risk businesses will also remain in place, as will screening of staff and visitors. Motorists traveling to northern provinces from Uttaradit have been advised to use alternative routes, as Highway 11 remains closed following heavy rain last night. In another northern province, Phichit, over 200 households in the Thap Klor sub-district municipal area have been flooded by runoffs from the Phetchabun mountain range. In Lampang province, the Hang Chat-Koh Ka road and several communities in Hang Chat and Ko Kha districts are flooded today, by overflows of Mae Tarn creek, while over 120 households in Mae Phrik district are also under water after a swollen stream breached its banks. Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat, the newly-appointed national police chief, told a news conference today (Saturday) that the raids in 50 provinces were part of a ghost gun operation, being carried out by police from the Central Investigation Bureau. The guns seized include 70 licensed, over 70 unlicensed guns and four “weapons of war”. The remaining items include about 8,900 rounds of ammunition, gun parts and machine tools for producing illegal arms. At 1:00 AM today, October 1st, Mr. Subin Suksawat, 36, went to report his plight to Pol. Lt. Anan Mahakit-asavakul at the Pattaya police station, claiming he was threatened by a gun-wielder, whom he believed could have been a police officer, to stop selling cannabis. The suspect was only identified as “Koa.” “Koa walked up to me on September 25th while I was selling cannabis on a roadside. He threatened to kick me first because he was mad at my customers for smoking cannabis around there,” Mr. Subin told The Pattaya News. By Tanakorn Panyadee Pattaya — A Thai woman allegedly raced her sedan against a Belgian driver on a Pattaya road and crashed into a power pole, claiming she got enranged after the foreign driver ridiculed her car. The woman, identified by Pattaya police as Ms. Chanphen Thaweesri, 48, was rescued after her bronze Mercedes Benz 220 sedan rammed into a power pole and caught on fire at 3:00 AM, today, October 1st. The fire was put out by a group of Good Samaritans prior to police arrival. Chanphen was uninjured. Police also found another party, which was a Belgian driver, Mr. Stephane Mathieu Cordemans, 35, at the accident scene. His bronze Honda Civic sedan was slightly damaged, and he was safe. He refused to give any statement to the press or Pattaya police.
