When she came again after a gap of three months she was shocked that the thieves had ransacked the hotel on which an investment of 400-million baht had been made with losses amounting to 70 million baht. Emergency responders were notified of the incident at 2:30 P.M. at an elephant village in Pattaya. They arrived at the scene to find Mrs. Alice C, 71, and Mrs. Virginia S, 85 both American. Their last names were withheld at the request of their privacy. They were found on the ground. Nearby rescue workers found the mahout (elephant trainer) Mr. Chamlueang Oboun, 73. All three had suffered non-life threatening injuries. The SEC said last week that the new rules include clearly showing investment risks in advertisements and providing a balanced view of potential risk and returns. Information on advertising terms must also be provided to regulators. The SEC said, "Operators must give details of ads and spending including the use of influencers and bloggers to the SEC including terms and time frame," adding that operators had 30 days to comply with the new rules. Crypto companies in Thailand advertise heavily on digital media and billboards promoting the industry can also be seen throughout Bangkok. The regulator in recent days has also handed out fines to crypto companies, with many operations hit by a global slump in the value of digital currencies. Samret Wajanasathian, an executive from local operator, Bitkub, was fined 8.5 million baht (US$231,670.75) this week for insider trading. Samret has said he would appeal the decision. Last month, Thailand’s fourth largest lender by assets, SCBX Pcl, scrapped its planned acquisition of Bitkub over regulatory concerns. Rival operator Asia-focused Zipmex was fined 1.92 million baht last Wednesday (31 Aug) for suspending withdrawals in late July. Happy reunion for woman whose cat had been missing for a month There has been a rare and happy reunion between a cat and its owner, after the feline went missing from home in Hat Yai district in the southern province of Songkhla about a month ago. Last week the animal was found wandering along an expressway in Bangkok by a Good Samaritan and has now been returned safely to the owner. The story of the cat, named “Moo Tha”, was posted on the Si Rat-Outer Ring Road Expressway webpage. When the owner, Jiratsabok Pitiphipat, learned that her cat had been found, she immediately flew from Hat Yai to Bangkok to claim it and brought it home by train on Sunday. However, the police said there was no crime committed and they would do nothing. So the Tweeter went to the DLT for some action. The tweet appeared under the name of Latte About A Boy (name transliterated from Thai and possibly incorrect). The Tweeter said that at 4.40 am on September 1st they had been with the taxi driver who was laughing and closing his eyes and shouting all the time that he wanted a tip. All while driving. The final straw came when he laughed and stuck his tongue out. The poster said after the police failed to accept a report that he was confused with the Thai law. Others on the platform suggested this was the same driver previously reported on August 19th who was a big guy in a green and yellow cab possibly with the number 1 มค 351 (or something like that). Then a passenger had had a scary experience.
