Sanook Thai Caption: It's the Land of the Nagas North easterners have called an area of Udon Thani known as Ban Chan sub-district to be renamed the "Land of the Nagas". In five separate incidents house owners have spotted the unmistakeable sign of the divine in the shape of their bamboo growth. Each time lottery riches came to the lucky ones. The latest woman in Ban Dung district to find one was Kanitha, 47, who got out her praying kit lest the spirits look dimly on her pleas for increased wealth, reported Sanook. She admitted that her Naga was a smaller of the genre but she was not going to miss out on winning today's draw. She's advising 032 and 230 after expert analysis of the "normai". -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-09-16 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. The Thai Supreme Court Division for Tax Cases has upheld the Appeals Court order for Toyota Motors (Thailand) to pay about 10 billion baht in customs duties and fees for the import of parts for the assembly of Toyota Prius hybrid cars in Thailand between 2010 and 2012. The court ruled that the parts, which were imported by Toyota Motors (Thailand) from Japan, were in a complete form which could be assembled into a car immediately and, therefore, were not eligible for 80% import duty and fee reductions. Toyota Motors claimed that its imported spare parts were eligible, citing the Japan Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement (JTEPA). Woman sentenced to death for poisoning her own children Thailand’s Criminal Court sentenced a woman to death yesterday (Thursday) after finding her guilty of poisoning her own 2-year-old son and 4-year-old adopted daughter with an abrasive substance, to make them sick so she could appeal to the public for donations on social media to help the sick children. The adopted daughter died due to the poisoning. The 29-year-old single mother, identified as Nittha, aka “Mae Pook”, was charged with attempted murder, human trafficking, assault causing serious injury, assault causing the death of another person, defrauding the public and violations of the Computer Crime Act. The case dates back four years, when the woman took her 4-year-old daughter to Thammasat University Hospital for medical treatment after she developed acute stomach ache and began vomiting blood. Thai justice minister turns to motorcyclists in push for "War on Drugs" victory - dangles 500 MB 5% carrot Picture: Thai Rath Thai justice minister Somsak Thepsuthin has turned to the ubiquitous motorcyclists on Thailand's roads for help in a final push to win the so-called war on drugs in the country. Picture: Thai Rath Thai justice minister Somsak Thepsuthin has turned to the ubiquitous motorcyclists on Thailand's roads for help in a final push to win the so-called war on drugs in the country. But he has warned hands off on cannabis - that's legal or at least a grey area. Somsak is mobilizing a potential 200,000 strong two wheel army in Thailand made up of "wins" (motorcycle taxi riders) and "riders" (motorcycle delivery guys). Bangkok alone is thought to have 81,970 'wins' and 100,000 'riders' but the authorities realise that unregistered people would add to those numbers. Nationwide the figure is thought to be 200,000 plus, reported Thai Rath. The idea is that such motorcyclists would be the "eyes and ears" on the ground when drug deals go down in the suburbs. File photo Somsak said that riders shouldn't think that by busting a small dealer the 5% due to them would be small. It may lead to the arrest of bigger players. And a chance for five percent of the 10.3 billion baht seized by the Justice Ministry in drug cases in the last year. (A sum that exceeded JM targets by 300 million). In all those cases informants among the public are due 500 million baht, he said. He hoped that with the motorcyclists on board he could take the war on drugs to every village and housing estate and win the day. But he warned people not to call 1386 about weed. Though there are some grey areas and it is still debatable whether the drug will be on the narcotics list again in the future, for now the drug is legal. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-09-16 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m.
