Picture: Thai Rath Thai media continued to report on the disappearance of a couple and two children from their house in Sukhothai, northern Thailand. Nirut Bunchu and his wife Nareumol Petchbunmee, both 41, went missing on April 10th with their two youngest children aged 12 and 7. Now police have told Nirut's father Luan and their 19 year old daughter Hiranya that the family are safe, reported Thai Rath. Hiranya said that it was a relief that her parents and younger siblings were safe. She said she just wanted to give her mum and dad a hug and would not ask them why they had left Thailand. If they wanted to tell her it is up to them. Luan also expressed his relief. The Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) yesterday (April 22nd) reported that they have arrested a wanted suspect from the Chonburi Provincial Court who is named by Chonburi police only as Mr. Sinart, 38, at a house in Nong Khang Khok, Mueang Chonburi district. Saturday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 4,148,090 with 27,649 deaths. The news comes the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Friday, decided to relax disease controls from May 1, ending control (orange) zones in its revision of the colour-coded zoning during Friday’s meeting. Only high surveillance (yellow) zones and tourism pilot (blue) zones will remain, starting from May 1. The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) Phang Nga office was notified of the sea turtle eggs from locals at the Natai Beach in the Khok Kloi sub-district, Takua Thung district. Officials went to the beach where they found the nest with sea turtle eggs buried inside. TAT Newsroom Bangkok – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to report that a high-ranking Thai tourism delegation led by H.E. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, has met with other world tourism leaders at the 21st World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit taking place in Manila, the Philippines from 20-22 April, 2022. Making up the delegation alongside the Minister of Tourism and Sports was Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and South Pacific, and Mr. Thawat Sumitmoh, Charge d’affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila. Participating in the Global Leaders Dialogue during the 2022 WTTC Global Summit, Mr. Tanes joined the discussion on ‘Rediscovering Travel’ together with leaders of tourism agencies from 11 other countries that included the USA, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Africa, India, the Maldives, Japan, and the European Parliament. He also attended the dinner reception for WTTC members and VIPs.
