One keeps reading the same BS here regarding the “innocuity” of the Covid virus. Tell that to the hundred of thousand already dead or in an artificial coma. Are you epidemiologists? Why would countries ruin their economies to stop the pandemic: out of fun?
i suggest to those armchair cynical deniers to go to any hospital ICU in Europe or the US and spend a day or two there. They could help the courageous medical staff who are overwhelmed by the number of cases.I am ready to bet that none of these illiterate deniers have been hit in one way or another.

Here lies a lesson for the Thai authorities if they think that huge numbers of "tourists" can't wait to return to Thailand. Better for the Thai authorities to first allow all long term visa (non-immigrant or extension) holders to return under easy terms. Tourism for fun is not going to happen for at least another year.
Totally agree. Som nam na. Why give priority to hypothetical tourists (they are not stupid and won't be taken for an expensive ride) to the detriment of long term residents, including retirees, some having spent years and A LOT of money in this country which they have made their homes?

They are all lying so NOTHING coming from the WH can be taken at face value, in particular whatever may be said by well-paid sycophantic doctors who are at Trump's beck and call.

The start of "you must wear a mask for the rest of your life" propaganda !
Part 1 of the "Total control plan" is working very nicely for them.
Tell that to the people who survived the Covid and are still suffering from the after effects, the people who are in ICU. Or who lost a family member or a friend. Or better yet, go to a hospital and stay there for one night in a Covid patient room without a mask!
Even your hoax peddling idol caught it because he didn't wear a mask.
See you at the hospital or the morgue.- 2

Two more students, the future of the nation, killed by reckless driving! What a shame! But then again, TIT: NOTHING will happen to change that, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

He will get away, no question. His family has not spent a lot of money in bribes to let him get caught.

Finding a competent and non corrupt replacement is an impossible task. There was a clean governor many years ago Chamlong Srimuang. Samak Sundaravej had a big mouth but he got some good things done. The rest were just incompetent crooks.

A few months of social service and a hefty fine (100,000 bht each) would be a minimum. 1 month in jail could also be contemplated. Licences revoked for life( if they have one).

Wait until you catch it and read about the many long term effects of this virus on “survivors”, including on the nervous system. It is easy for you to say. If you had lost someone to it or had a loved one in critical condition at the hospital, you might look at it differently. Such callousness is really unbelievable.

When most guys his age are safely sheltering at home, his job demands that he constantly travel and mix with a large number of people every day.
His role is partly symbolic and important to the morale of the nation, so, he does not have the option to hide in a basement.
Whatever you may think of him personally, he and his wife caught this virus while doing the job that America asked them to do. They deserve better than the nasty, politically-driven narrative that Trump is personally responsible for the pandemic and that the Democrats would somehow have handled things better.
If he had taken this pandemic more seriously, had himself worn a mask, imposed the same to his supporters, instead of playing the arrogant macho, he might not be where he is now. By making short shrift of the protection measures he has indirectly contributed to the circulation of the virus. Hubris may be his downfall. Don't expect sympathy from me.

Biden wasn't the mediator, Wallace wasn't the debater, and that wasn't a debate. That was Trump acting like a spoiled brat and not letting anyone talk.Quite so. The change of the rules, however, may be moot now that the big mouth has to quarantine as he was diagnosed with the innocuous flu and we don't know how the disease is going to affect him. Reality hurts!

What else is new? Lax and corrupt police, reckless driving, devil-may-care attitude: all cultural traits which will take several generations to change, if so.

What is there to say but....TIT! Nothing will ever change because those who should care, don't. Add to that the karma fatalism that is an invitation to passivity.

Herd immunity is effective on many communicable diseases, like measles and mumps. Nothing unproven about it.
So to hell with those who don't recover, right?
Hell or heaven, wherever they deserve to go. Life doesn't come with a guarantee of long life- disease, war, car crashes, assault etc etc etc can all see us departed life early. More will die of flu than corona, though some that die with corona die in fact of other diseases.
And the jury isn't out on masks, all experts agree that they reduce the spread.

If that were true they'd be the law in NZ, but they ain't.
Well, let's hope it works for you and for your loved ones: as long as you haven't experienced it yourself by getting sick or losing someone close it is easy to be sanctimonious.

Thailand is about to introduce more stringent testing and licence requirement measures for what are termed big bike riders.
I doubt it will have any impact or maybe a marginal one. What needs to be changed is the mentality of the Thai driver/biker and that, no amount of testing and licence requirement will bring about.

Those hazing rituals should be banned and any breach should be pursued with the full force of the law against the adults who allowed it and the students who did the bullying. This is a shame and no proof of manhood: these rituals are the work of cowards.
