Finding a competent and non corrupt replacement is an impossible task. There was a clean governor many years ago Chamlong Srimuang. Samak Sundaravej had a big mouth but he got some good things done. The rest were just incompetent crooks.

A few months of social service and a hefty fine (100,000 bht each) would be a minimum. 1 month in jail could also be contemplated. Licences revoked for life( if they have one).

Wait until you catch it and read about the many long term effects of this virus on “survivors”, including on the nervous system. It is easy for you to say. If you had lost someone to it or had a loved one in critical condition at the hospital, you might look at it differently. Such callousness is really unbelievable.

When most guys his age are safely sheltering at home, his job demands that he constantly travel and mix with a large number of people every day.
His role is partly symbolic and important to the morale of the nation, so, he does not have the option to hide in a basement.
Whatever you may think of him personally, he and his wife caught this virus while doing the job that America asked them to do. They deserve better than the nasty, politically-driven narrative that Trump is personally responsible for the pandemic and that the Democrats would somehow have handled things better.
If he had taken this pandemic more seriously, had himself worn a mask, imposed the same to his supporters, instead of playing the arrogant macho, he might not be where he is now. By making short shrift of the protection measures he has indirectly contributed to the circulation of the virus. Hubris may be his downfall. Don't expect sympathy from me.

Biden wasn't the mediator, Wallace wasn't the debater, and that wasn't a debate. That was Trump acting like a spoiled brat and not letting anyone talk.Quite so. The change of the rules, however, may be moot now that the big mouth has to quarantine as he was diagnosed with the innocuous flu and we don't know how the disease is going to affect him. Reality hurts!

Indeed! I had never thought of that!

What else is new? Lax and corrupt police, reckless driving, devil-may-care attitude: all cultural traits which will take several generations to change, if so.

Putin, XI, Daesh and others are rubbing their hands in contentment as they see the US slowly falling apart as Trump makes his country the laughing stock of the world: a clown for a leader whom the KGB president of Russia holds by the balls. MAGA indeed!

What is there to say but....TIT! Nothing will ever change because those who should care, don't. Add to that the karma fatalism that is an invitation to passivity.

Herd immunity is effective on many communicable diseases, like measles and mumps. Nothing unproven about it.
So to hell with those who don't recover, right?
Hell or heaven, wherever they deserve to go. Life doesn't come with a guarantee of long life- disease, war, car crashes, assault etc etc etc can all see us departed life early. More will die of flu than corona, though some that die with corona die in fact of other diseases.
And the jury isn't out on masks, all experts agree that they reduce the spread.

If that were true they'd be the law in NZ, but they ain't.
Well, let's hope it works for you and for your loved ones: as long as you haven't experienced it yourself by getting sick or losing someone close it is easy to be sanctimonious.

Thailand is about to introduce more stringent testing and licence requirement measures for what are termed big bike riders.
I doubt it will have any impact or maybe a marginal one. What needs to be changed is the mentality of the Thai driver/biker and that, no amount of testing and licence requirement will bring about.

Just cut off the moorings. BJ and his “damned soul” Cummings, NEVER wanted a deal in the first place.

Those hazing rituals should be banned and any breach should be pursued with the full force of the law against the adults who allowed it and the students who did the bullying. This is a shame and no proof of manhood: these rituals are the work of cowards.

There are enough testimonies from previous WH staffers and advisers to think that Taylor's statement can be taken at face value. Trump is dangerous and should be voted out: he is endangering the US and the world.

Well, that didn't help.
How could it? Same as people dying in a church or a mosque as a result of an act of god.

Covid = A strain of flu which has been misused to bring the world to a halt even though it bears no greater risk than regular flu ????
Sure, that's why countries imposed lockdown measures: just for a regular flu. Isn't this degree of stupidity remarkable? Was the world brought to a halt just for the fun of it? Stop typing nonsense and go to bed.

It would be interesting to calculate the economic cost of traffic accidents over 1 year in Thailand. The powers that be probably don't care. The infamous, Intrinsically corrupt and lazy police are partly responsible for not enforcing the road laws on a continuous basis, especially when it comes to motorcyclists who ride their bikes like headless chickens.
