Fluorescent LED strip light upgrade ARRRR!!!!!!
Muzzique replied to Daffy D's topic in The Electrical Forum
Watts is the power they use. 10w =100w normal bulb but this is only for incandescent bulbs. Here is a good guide for all types of equivalents. https://ledhut.co.uk/blogs/news/led-equivalent-wattages-against-traditional-lighting Lumens is the brightness. 6000 is super bright. Could be the bulb is coated so it will use the same power but produce less light. LM factor is how efficient the light is at recreating the lighting you want with less electricity. Your can get lower wattage bulbs that punch above their weight in terms of light output but there is a cost trade off. Volts are important. 240v is normal but America use110v. Pick the wrong one and it will either blow or not come on. Always take your tube with you. There are many different sizes and fitting so use your eyes and not guess. Bright white will look like a hospital, daylight has a slight yellow. Warm white has a more mellow fire light feeling. Go for a known brand not price. There is no governing body who checks what is written on the box is what you get. With a brand you are going to get what you expect. Go to the shop informed. Read the box and go with knowledge. Unfortunately times move on. There was a time when you picked up a phone receiver then turned a rotary dial to get a number, Now we have mobiles. If in doubt use candles. -

Pothead PC 1 - " Elephants" Chief - "BRILLIANT!, Roll me another spliff while we hammer out the details" Pothead PC 2 - " I think we should have have one officer on top looking like the fairy on a Christmas tree and we can hire Canadian Mounties to control them" Pothead PC 1 - "WOW Man... That is WAY Cool!!!" And so the idea was born... And they all lived happily ever after

I’m having bouts of Anxiety – Need advice .
Muzzique replied to Captain Disorderly's topic in Health and Medicine
I suffered terribly from Anxiety. Seeing a therapist and joining a therapy group really helped. It helped discover the cause which related to childhood where I was told I never lived up to expectations. That lead me to over burden myself and set too high expectations. The most important word I learnt was NO. Not to burden myself with others demands. Things will get done even if you don't get involved. You are not the emotional donkey and you have to let others take partial or full responsibility for some the issues that concern you. I also found that recognising anxiety as not being real helped. It changes nothing and is simply a mental and physical effect that you have to reject as not affecting the outcome of anything. Recognising that the feeling has no relationship to the outcome enables you to reject it. After a while your body calms down and feelings get weaker and less frequent. Deal with things one by one. Approach the easy things first not the hard. Work your way through each one and work out a plan on how to deal with them individually. One item at a time not all together. -
In my case I was flying to Barcelona from Stansted and the 4hr delayed aircraft meant I was drinking with friends and got well wasted in the airport departure lounge bar. On arrival I had also been drinking on the plane so could hardly stand up and totally forget the name of my hotel. A local taxi said he could take me to another hotel in the centre of the city that would have space. When I arrived at this hotel it, as fate would have it, it was actually the one I was booked into. What are the odds on that? The taxi driver was miffed as he missed out on a reward for bringing a new customer to them.

Hotel worker accused of attacking female guest due to late payment
Muzzique replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Yes, its a good story. . A 'Party Entertainer' missed the first days upfront payment, then wanted to stay a second without paying upfront. Couldn't pay for the first night as her phone was broken and who's phone miraculously started working again at 7pm after they were kicked out. Totally Kosher.. -

Blockbuster movie scares Chinese tourists away from Thailand
Muzzique replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The reduced carbon footprint of all those travellers of course. What other reason could there be? Here's an idea for a sequel The 100000 strong bar-girl Vampire Army that Crave chinese blood. directed by Quentin Tarantino A real life documentary explaining the reason for the millions of Chinese tourists that go missing every year in Thailand that end up as soulless cursed undead. -

Weighing passengers to become standard for Bangkok Airways
Muzzique replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Please read the article correctly. The headline is misleading. They are simple conducting a voluntary anonymous short term survey to ascertain the average passenger weight for future planning not planning to charge people by their size. Same as New Zealand Airways and Korean Air which are short term research projects in one or 2 airports to update average customer weight information that is almost 20 years old. In my humble opinion if they tried to impose a pay by weight policy it could create serious problems 1. it would be impossible to police until the checkin where the backlash at the desk could be catastrophic 2. It could create an us and them division between the fat, overheight or Muscular and the thin 3. Larger size cultures would see it as an attack on their freedoms 4. Women especially do not like to share such personal information neither would many men 5. It could promote a view that thin is the correct body type which the world is currently trying to redress 6. It could generate serious health concerns by promoting crash dieting and weight control before flying Any airline that tried to charge people by weight would be committing economic suicide as in the case of Samoa Air. No other airlines have since taken up this policy. -
Weighing passengers to become standard for Bangkok Airways
Muzzique replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Its just for gauging an average weight for future planning. Its a short term, voluntary anonymous survey. Don't be misled by the Media sticking a more sinister spin to it. This is a common practice with most airlines so they don't run out of fuel because they were using outdated average weight figures. On small planes they often move people around for this reason but on larger planes it is not common unless you have 4 teams of rugby players who all want to sit on the right hand side for some reason and a 50 strong female K pop band who all want to sit on the left. -
Weighing passengers to become standard for Bangkok Airways
Muzzique replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
New Zealand is doing a short term 10 week voluntary check at Aukland only to readjust its average weight figures (not reviewed for 20 years) which is perfectly reasonable as New Zealanders are getting heavier. Plus it is voluntary and anonymous. Korean Air did it for a one week period at Gimpo and Incheon airports last week for the same reason. Voluntary too. I think this is simply the media twisting a standard practice into a story with darker undertones. If you read the full article its about Thai Airways gaúging average weight in a short term survey not picking on the fatties. -
It must be a new diagnostic skill I've never heard of.... unless he simply asked them 'how long did the shock last?' Sounds like a scam to me... Last day, in the pool for 20 minutes and only felt the effect at the end. Doctor 'what are your symptoms?' Mrs Thai 'I felt numb all over my body and found it hard to move my arms and legs' Doctor 'Obviously it's a 5 second electric shock' I would have diagnosed an orgasm...

Kamnan Nok scandal lifts lid on Thai bureaucracy’s corruption crisis

Kamnan Nok scandal lifts lid on Thai bureaucracy’s corruption crisis Not quite lifting the lid. More like tearing off the top of a small yoghurt pot next to a huge bubbling vat. -
The Sinsod is recognition to others of how well the parents have brought up their daughter. You should be aware of this when getting married to a Thai girl. They seem to have invested well in her as she is a University student not a bar girl. As they are getting half back then it is only 500k Baht which is a reasonable sum for a young university student. He is within his rights to say no. Times change. If she really loves him then money should not matter. If he is grumbling about this now then God help him when he sees the hands coming into his pocket in the future. I had to beat them away with a stick for the first year.. I would say my wife works and has repaid me all of the Sinsod and a lot more on top. https://bangkokinvestigators.com/blog/should-i-pay-a-dowry-for-my-thai-wife

No Plans to Shut Down Facebook in Thailand, Says New Digital Minister

If I was a woman with a body that looks like a bag of marbles, with a socket that you could park a bike inside and breasts warming up my knees I'd go there for some fun. Lord knows no-one like that would look at them in their own country. What else would you spend your widows pension on? Hands down beats Mecca Bingo and the Darby & Joan. Grow old disgracefully, that's my motto.
