Is it? And that's a genuine question.

I know you can take photo's in a public place, but being in a bar is a public or private space?

    Think paparazzi and street photographers...

But I don't want to take away from the topic at hand, so back to regular viewing...

Normally it’s not appropriate to publish pictures of people’s faces in bars, nightclubs, or casinos.

For those nah sayers and its only a mild flu, please look at this: Of course it may be all a hoax involving thousnads of healthcare workers, scientists, etc

Of course if there are 300+ diagnosed then multiply that by 1.5 each day, with effective testing and see what the possible numbers may be until a plateau is reached.

That’s actually key right there the 1-14 day incubation period is why it’s scaring the hell out of everyone because you could be contagious BEFORE you know you’re sick.

Nothing you can do to avoid it. Wear a mask and avoid contact with people.

The are checking temperatures on entry to perhaps stop infected people from entering,

That’s probably the scariest part of it because apparently I’ve read that you could potentially be contagious for up to several days before you’re even symptomatic and know you’re sick. So people could potentially be spreading it without knowing they’re sick yet. That’s what I’ve read, and apparently it’s the reason why it’s so difficult if not impossible to control. That’s why everyone is in a panic.

  4. Ok now this <deleted> is just freaking wrong. People still have to make a living, people still have rent to pay, people still have obligations, AND PEOPLE STILL HAVE FAMILIES TO PROVIDE FOR!!!!!!! This is what scares me not the virus other people. And after browsing through other comments on here I don’t think I’m alone in thinking like that because it’s true.

Although I’ve found that there’s usually more to the story than we’re told.

The Thai Embassy in Tokyo states this will be effective from the 21st of March with respect to the health certificate, but as of yet there is no stated date for the proof of insurance coverage. The health certificate merely has to be a "fit to fly" certificate and state you have no fever or other symptoms, but does not require exactly that you have been tested and proven free from Covid-19, which would be impossible for most people.

In any event, this is pretty difficult for most people anyway, and almost impossible for many people coming from countries that do not have these available in English language.

    * Just reading a social media comment - A Thai spoke to the Okaka Thai consulate and they insisted it had to be a Covid-19 certificate. Obviously, this is very expensive, or just mostly not available in most places for a discretionary purposes like this. Another brilliant policy move.

I’ve seen multiple conflicting information as well from other sources I don’t think they really know for sure yet because it looks like the government is still putting together a response to the whole international pandemic in multiple different aspects and I really don't think anything is official yet. They keep putting out different information constantly even about Songkran so I don’t think anyone knows much yet.

Bottom line it’s only a temporary situation let’s just pray it’s over soon. I’m more concerned about the panic then the pandemic. I’m scared to death of mass hysteria and panic not germs. If I get sick and die then I get sick and die it’s inevitable at some point in life.

Start by checking her temperature. If she doesn't have fever, dry cough or any COVID-19 symptoms they won't test her. If they do the results will probably come back after a couple day unless they have one of the faster test (unlikely).

Thanks no temperature but regardless she’s feeling better now after dinner. I think she’s good.

Rather than worry about a test focus on the symptoms.

Fever and/or persistent cough is the sign of Corona virus. If has one of those then isolate for 7 days at home where hopefully it will be gone

Oh no, time is no friend to illnesses like this. The earlier you find out the more treatments are available and you will probably survive if you catch it before you’re coughing your lungs up. With this one you could be infected and spreading it and possibly even be fully contagious before you’re even symptomatic so I’ve read. Probably why it’s scaring the hell out of the medical world.

If it’s just a cold or something sure but with deadly illnesses time isn’t on your side, take it from me I’m a stage 3 cancer survivor the faster you get treated the better your odds are.

  9. I’m not sick or really even that concerned but if I have a loved one over 60 years old that I’m EXTREMELY concerned about how long does it take to get a test and how soon will they have the test results done? Is it like they draw some labs and you know the results within an hour or two or is it like days before the results are known?

I think it’s probably just the heat getting to her outside earlier but if I even think she’s coming down with anything she’s going to the hospital and she’s getting her blood drawn. Now the damn mass hysteria is probably rubbing off on me even a little bit as well, or maybe not it’s not me I’m worried about. Definitely not panic shopping or stocking up on toilet paper lol, but maybe start stocking up on Corona Beer with a huge shopping cart full of Corona Extra LMAO. But this is a serious question if anyone has been tested for COVID 19 please just let me know how it went was it quick? How soon did your test results come back? I’m actually kind of worried about someone close.

I’d really appreciate it if anyone who’s been tested for it here in Thailand could just share their experience as far as how soon you knew the results mostly. There’s just a lot of mixed information on the internet so I’d really like to hear from someone who’s actually been tested for COVID 19 here in Thailand particularly the Issan area.

    Thanks

  10. I’ve been messing with my smart tv since they installed 3BB and now I understand what they meant actually they were all sort of correct. The HBO GO app is available for download on iTunes now, but not yet on Google Play on my smart tv. I just have the “Google Play Store” but not the app yet. So now I understand what they meant when they said it’s not available for download yet because it’s not available yet on google play but yes it is available on iTunes now. So now it makes sense because the technician said that they are coming back to our house on the 31st to finish installing the internet cable box with a remote which I honestly wasn’t even expecting to receive. I thought I’d have to work it through the app like on iTunes or something like that but no 3BB HBO GO is actually going to be like a real cable TV service in two weeks as soon as HBO GO is fired up. Not bad service for between 600 and 1200 baht a month! I have the 1200 a month package. I even called 3BB back and apologized for getting mad, I told them “no the installation kid yesterday didn’t break my TV now I see why he was trying to hook it up like that after the other two guys fixed it today”. Turns out the kid was trying to do me a favour because I still have the old AIS system setup so he was just trying to fix it so we could watch both. But the guy probably just didn’t know enough about my smart tv probably because I have it set to English. But the TV did lose the signal 5 minutes after he left the house so I felt bad about getting mad but I kind of had to speak up aggressively to get it fixed right. I don’t like doing it but sometimes if you don’t you get walked on. As a foreigner here I hate to raise my voice even more but occasionally you have to be aggressive.

The 3BB App is region locked and I can't download.  AIS play wasn't.  My Apple account is still linked to the US and not sure if I want to change.  I have a Samsung TV, will check to see if I can download the application on it.

I actually got some really good news today from 3BB. I had to call them to send their technician back out to my house today because the kid who installed it yesterday messed it up and I was pretty mad because it looked like he broke my smart tv. But the technicians today fixed whatever he did and now it’s working fine.

The good news I heard from the technicians today is that they told me they are going to bring us an internet cable box WITH A REMOTE CONTROL sort of like we have now with AIS. Now I had no idea we were actually going to get the full deal with like real cable I thought I had to work it all off of the app I downloaded on to my smart tv but no the technicians said we’re getting a real no sht cable box with remote just like our old AIS service!!! So that’s awesome if it’s true they said it’s coming next month on the 31st as soon as HBO GO is available on 3BB so I didn’t know the technicians will be visiting us again in two weeks to finish installing it. So it was kind of a good thing that happened to me today because it turns out my smart tv is fine, and because I was able to learn that information an hour ago from the 3BB technician they actually are going to provide us with like real cable service.

Has 3BB told you anything similar about receiving the cable box and remote next month?

Because today I learned that apparently we’re all getting it next month. So great news about HBO GO, I’m not keeping any of my AIS accounts after this, in fact when the same thing happened with True Vision 3 years ago I dumped all my True accounts as well including their phone service and I switched it all to AIS. So now it’s 3BB but I’ll probably just keep our AIS phone numbers, AIS did used to provide a good service while it lasted anyway but didn’t last much more than 3 years. But you’re absolutely right about downloading it on your iPhone if you’re iTunes account is set to the United States as mine has always been for 10 years at least. In fact I’m gonna fix all that today if I can since we’re gonna be home for a while anyway it looks like with everything going on. Lol, that could have been a good argument for trying to get AIS to at least keep it a little longer since so many people are staying in doors right now.

If you get a chance can you please let me know if you’re getting a cable box and a remote control from 3BB as well? I’m just curious what other people’s experiences have been with 3BB, as long as people are honest about their experiences. Quite often people visit this forum just to complain and rant and rave so sometimes when you ask for feedback from people occasionally you might have to just say something like please serious answers only or something I see people on here writing like that all the time and I see why lol. Hope your 3BB service is working out to.

Have you not lived in Thailand long? You should probably study the culture a little more because you’re seriously being judgmental which we’re all guilty of but damn dude. It’s been that way here since the beginning of time. Is it really so much different in any other culture as far as society’s responsibility to their elders no really but Thais take that to heart with good reason. Even my wife gets sick of stuff sometimes with her family but she lived most of her life in the United States but she has not forgotten her culture namely because most of her friends in the United States were Thai and going to the local Buddhist temple most Sundays so she’s still been around Thai culture all her life even in the United States.

So before you judge at least understand why most Thai people work so hard to take care of their parents especially the poorer families it can be really sad because there are people who will do just about anything to provide for their parents and children sometimes extremely degrading and dangerous things as you ought to know if you’ve been here in Thailand for at least a little while. This is not the west, in this country if you go down and you don’t have anyone to take care of you there’s probably no help coming so families here have to look out for one another. Think about it, seriously think about that. At least have some empathy for other people. I’m working on that myself actually.

  13. In this country they absolutely must take care of their parents. Most typical Thai families are the same way about taking care of their elders and all family especially the parents. Because Thailand’s Social Security system is not much at all from what I’ve heard Thai Social Security is a joke and I don’t mean a joke like our Social Security system in the United States I mean they might as well be getting nothing Thai Social Security is so low. Additionally Thailand doesn’t always have the same kind of systems in place that most western countries have to take care of their elderly. So in Thailand that’s how it is it’s their duty to take care of their elderly.

And you know what we Americans and probably lots of other nationalities claim to have those same type of values but not like Thais, usually when it comes to family particularly the elderly. Because Who else is going to do it? In Thailand you’re almost always your family’s responsibility when you’re sick, in the hospital, prison, etc, especially when you get old. It’s just engrained in their culture and it’s like instinctive. So you’re far from the only one who has Thai family who really seem to love their parents more than anything. So don’t mind some of the colourful comments you get in here from some of these “high ranking” Thai Visa members lol because most of them have known for years exactly what I just told you and they think it’s funny because what you’re asking is extremely common in Thailand it really is it’s nothing out of the ordinary even I chuckled a little bit when I read this. My wife has some pretty serious deep seeded personal issues with her Thai mom from when she grew up here 40 years ago and she is still all about helping her mom. She’s a better daughter than I am a son to my own parents.
