No doubt this is true for you and I agree that it is the best reason to live in Thailand. But from what I hear from many people myself as well as what I read in this forum, many people live in Thailand because (they perceive) it's cheap.

most dont live here cause its "cheap", we live here cause of the quality of life you get for the money you spend
plus for me, the fact i can go to the beach and swim 330+ days/year  ????

  2. YES:
once you have brought the car, bike, flat tv you can very easily live on $3,500 /month
I've been here since the mid 80's,  seldom do i spend more than $3,000/month ( an when i did it was cause my daughter was in International school)
now its under $1,500 for 2 of us

I am not going to preach about the evils of regular weed use, but observation suggests that not working, and smoking often, you can expect a fairly rapid rate of cognitive decline. That will not help when it comes to impulse control.

LOL: You will live alot longer and have a better. happier life smoking weed ( look at Willie Nelson)  vs being an alcoholic!!!

Get the number of a few girls that will visit ya at home for 2,000 baht/time and you will do fine

  3. tourist visa ($30 on arrival) can be extended once for 30 days ($40-45)
an E visa ( $35 on arrival ) or called an ordinary visa  can be extended for 1, 3, 6, 12 months depending on what category you choose
you or your gf could get a EG extension for 3 months ( looking for work) No additional paperwork needed for any age

  4. US  letter:

Dear Immigration official of the Royal Thai Government Please be informed that as of April 10, 2023, the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok and the Consulate General in Chiang Mai no longer issue passport linkage letters. For purposes of transferring visas for cancelled U.S. passports to new U.S. passports, please refer to the passports themselves.

i dont see the Russians controlling anything

as far as tourists around,  Mostly Indians and middle easterners ( they love to sit on the horses on the beach while looking at their phones while a thai guy leads them)

Assume from the refusal to transfer stamps into the new passport that your still registered as residing in Trang, you need to submit a TM30 to Phuket Immigration to show you are now at a Phuket address, if you want to have them do anything for you.

NO; i "moved" back  phuket and 2 previous 90 day reports are done in Phuket
They refused to transfer stamps to new passport for friend of mine last week, same thing as me, extension issued in Trang BUT filed new tm 30 for Phuket

Your old PP is valid until the expiry date

WRONG, old passport is invalid the date the new one is issued<  extensions are valid till they expire

...The fact is that essential stamp transfer can be done at any airport, land crossing or immigration office, in general, if this is a prerequisite for some other immediate action. What they should not do is transfer stamps that were not issued by them, and which remain valid in the old passport (though that can often also be arranged if the officials agree).

OK: understood, So i can go out of Thailand and stamps will be transferred when i leave OR return?

BUT nobody has answered my question>
WILL phuket ( where i am registered as living) do a 90 day report ON a old /invalid passport, since new one is issued without Transferring stamps?
OR will they say NOPE, must first transfer stamps

Has no one run into this?
