You think too much about stuff that doesn't matter. Just give Agent your passport and 25k and enjoy your 15 month hassle free visa 😉
FYI:
to use them, u need be in Pattaya<
Many dont, i did the math and with flying into Bangkok, bus to Pattaya, 1-2 night hotel stay.. and back
It was cheaper /easier to use Thai visa centre via thai post office -
all extensions are issued ....."at the discretion of the immigration official"

Thanks for your clarifications. Noted only one DS 82 needed.
On the Checklist page it states: Checklist must be completed and included in the package
Current passport book and/or passport card (if applicable) Required, NO EXCEPTIONS
& one clear photocopy of bio-data page (my emphasis)
<<https://th.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/checklist-DS82-by-mail-online-payment_-passport-card-included-1080.pdf>>Is this information incorrect? The checklist does NOT need to be included in the package, nor a copy of the passport "Bio" page? Thanks.
i showed what i sent, up to you , maybe things were dif in Nov
if ur worried, send copies , cant hurtBank money orders are old way, new way
I did the 100 baht thru thai post online https://www.thailandpostmart.com/product/1013460000929- 1

Hi All,
First off I apologize for not being able to use this site properly. I MAY understand more how to know!
Anyway, I know I need an Agent to help me get my first Non-O Thai retirement visa. I only have the income required (3K, Social Security) and I do not have 800,000 baht additional. So, can a good agent, who is utterly reliable, to get this done for me under these conditions?
I would like to live in Bangkok or Pattaya but - if required, I can live anywhere in the country the agent needs. I am 81 years old, from the USA, and not currently in Thailand.
I'm looking for trusted referrals for an agent who people have used and are very happy with please.
Thanks for all your help!
1st 90 day visa needs show 800,000 in bank, income not accepted first year
You NEED BE IN THAILAND
Thai visa centre if u dont have the baht- 1

ur allowed up to 14 days on the $10 stamp but limited to within ( i think) Only 20 kms from town>
i spent 3 days there years ago. rented a boat for 1 day to explore around- 1

"....You can usually do a 90 day report up to 5 days early in person"
wrong, in person 15 days before up to 7 days after
ONLINE 15 days before
SOME immigration ( Phuket for one) will automatically give you a new 90 day slip when u get ur 1 year extension.
ALWAYS check -

Some bars operate that way, others don't, although the girls at Suzie Wongs have to get their quota of drinks in order to get paid.......also many of them opt for just Coke (for example) and tell the punter that it is a "real drink". No problems with that as in many cases thay are looking after their health.
over the year's have seen many customers get mad at girls they buy drinks for girls thinking they are paying for a "real" drink not a coke or OJ ( for 150-200 baht) and tasting it
so unless the girls says they are not drinking alcohol ..... -
something many of you are missing regarding lady drinks>
many bars require a girl get x number of drinks/month or they are docked part of their salary, that is why they come across as pushy at times
( unless this has changed as its been awhile since i was in a bar with girls on the make- 1

What aspects of Koh Samui are more expensive than Phuket? According to numbeo.com:
* Rent Prices in Koh Samui are 26.3% lower than in Phuket
* Restaurant Prices in Koh Samui are 20.5% lower than in Phuket
* Groceries Prices in Koh Samui are 4.0% lower than in PhuketWhich as noted before supports a view that Phuket has very expensive rent and restaurant prices compared to most places in Thailand. According to numbeo, grocery prices are similar between Koh Samui and Phuket.
However numbero.com also notes it does not have enough data to calculate difference in Consumer Prices nor enough data to calculate difference in Local Purchasing Power between Phuket and Koh Samui.
I dont go by some website, i go by personal experience and comparing costs on my own

I'm now paying B12,000/month for a small 48sq.m. raised one bedroom apartment in a private family-owned soi with a garden and a clear mountain view and parking underneath. The Russian couple next door in the other half of the raised and gated building are paying B16,000. I am more than happy with my deal.
In the current market I think that my landlord (actually an elderly Thai landlady) could get close to B20,000.
i pay 10,000 for a 2 bedroom, 2 aircon furnished raised house with mtn views in Kamala

Thanks zzzzz. I don't see a better alternative than airbnb so far. I'll check out kamala more seriously. i see many listings there.
How's the traffic around that part? I have no idea how busy the roads will be in mid-March. I'd prefer not to be in traffic jams every day wherever we end up.
Any recommendations are appreciated because unless you really know an area there's a lot of guessing involved. I live in CM and know this area quite well. We're actually heading that way because the pollution is intolerable that time of year here.
Thanks again.
traffic gets not so great 5-6:30 pm between the 2 traffic lights on the main road, other than that>>>> lovely
u just need drive around, or look online, I see no "for rent" signs for over a month but there Lots of condos here
as to Russians< my wife works at "shinning star " pre school 60% of the kids (2-6 ) are russian
London u got a s#@t landlord, just renewed mine 2 weeks ago , same as last year :-)
avoid Patong !!!!! traffic everyday for over a month and its Only going to get worse -
Look around kamala, very child friendly, nice beach, lots of restaurants on the beach, restaurants in town>
parks, 3x/week night market, Fantasea for the kids , most rentals will be walkable to the beach
I doubt anyone, BUT airbnb, will rent less than 3 months thou

$1,000 are you serious $1,000 USD? 34,000 baht. or is that just how much you need in your bank book, how much does the 'Agent' want?
Thats what u need show in ur bank, AS I SAID<
any bank, NOT the cost of the visa
if ur in Kampot or anywhere outside PP the agents charge $80
In PP $60At the embassy $40
FYI:
even if u use an agent in Penang u still need go to the Consulate>
unlike using an agent in PP- 1

A couple of years ago I went to Siem Reap and did VOA, fairly sure I saw people with e-visa going straight to IO but not definitive.
I tried to point out how one person can say they got a sticker with e-visa where another may not. Where there is conflicting information you need something else to establish probability.
The whole idea of the e-visa was to reduce queues at VOA desks.ie the "sticker" desk.
I spent 6 years going in and out of Cambodia every 90 days, filled my passport in 3 years. Oh to have had the e-visa option, would have saved me a great deal of grief.
???? US passports are 52 pages How could 12 full page stamps ( 3 years of stamps @4/year) fill ur passport?????????
and
lets see, each entry costs ya an extra $6 for the Cambodian evisa
so 6 years = 4 entries/year = 24 entries x6= $144.
new 10 year passport US $130 U saved $$14 5555555
