  1. Whataboutism! Nice try. Please explain how the convicted felon is actually innocent. LOL
  2. Yes, he will become even more unhinged, which likely appeals to the brain addled. The cult thinks a bloated, whiny crybaby is somehow an Alpha Male, when in reality he is a weak, insecure little child who finally had his lifelong cocoon pierced. No daddy to co-sign his loans nor bail him out. Cults gonna cult. No difference between the convicted felon's cult and Jim Jones cult. He's already led somewhere on the order of 1200 of his cult members to jail for the 6 Jan 2021 insurrection, which is the equivalent of the original 'drinking of the Koolaid'.
  3. Then he became a convicted felon for nothing. Somehow, it seems karmic.
  4. Regarding sentencing and any possible prison term, a few things might have impact on the judge's decision: ---10 Gag Order violations ---Is the convicted felon remorseful or not? ---Has any underling accused in the same criminal activity been sentenced to jail? Tonight via social media (TS) we will see if the convicted felon shows any remorse. Also, an underling in this criminal incident---Michael Cohen---was jailed for his part. Thus, the leader of the criminal activity is more likely to get similar treatment.
  5. Another bit of fallout from the conviction: A convicted felon is not allowed to receive classified briefings. Low level classified briefings are usually part of the pricess for the two Party candidates. By law, the convicted felon is now not able to receive them.
  6. Got your talking points, eh? No surprise it comes from a network filled with admitted Performance Artists and which was fined $787 million for lying about Dominion Voting Machines, and still faces a $1.2 billion lawsuit for lying about Smartmatic Voting Systems. Get this: a jury of his peers found him guilty. How ironic that the convicted felon demanded the Central park Five be executed, even after DNA evidence found them innocent. He took out a full page ad in the NYT's to demand conviction and execution. He expects special treatment because of who he thinks he is, yet remember when he told cops to "don't be so gentle" putting suspects in the police cruiser. Obviously he doesn't believe in 'innocent until proven guilty' for typical suspects, but cries about the system when it finds him a convicted felon.
  7. No surprise, House Repubs have asked the Governor of NY to pardon the convicted felon. Unlikely she will do as they wish.
  8. Obviously you hate, or at minimum do not understand, the American system. You don't understand Rule of Law, a jury of one's peers, innocent until PROVEN guilty. You do not like democracy. In the US, NOBODY is above the law. Deal with it.
  9. Sad, but undeniably true. He will foment violence. In his campaign he will bark about the 'rigged and corrupt' Justice system and promise to destroy 250 years of the American Experiment. Equally sadly, there is a subset of voters who hate the American system, hate democracy, and hate equality of all under the law. I worry for the jurors, should their identities become known.
  10. Your post is both irrational and absurdly accusative. What makes those who support DEMOCRACY and RULE OF LAW "leftist fascists"? The guy committed crimes, and per the US system of justice, he was found guilty by a jury of his peers. He has abused the system with his attempts to delay delay delay, but in the one instance where he could not force a delay, he was found guilty. As I regularly ask---regarding his other indictments: -Why did he steal thousands of highly classified documents? Why did he lie about returning them? ---Why did he pressure the GA SecState to "just find me...11,780 votes" ---Why did he call his goobers to DC for 6 Jan 2021 Tweeting, "It'll be WILD!" ---Why did he encourage his goobers to "march to the Capitol" and "fight like hell", when the VP was doing his duty of accepting the election result certifications from all the States and territories? It is now fact that he engaged in fraud to try to unfairly influence the election. Guilty. Convicted felon.
  11. Don't like Rule of Law, eh? Non-fascists and those who believe in democracy and the American Experiment also support the Rule of Law. In a Third World s-hole, he would have gotten off. In a nation where ALL ARE EQUAL under the law, and NO ONE is above the law, he was found guilty by a jury of his peers.
  12. Let's use some of the convicted felon's own words about migrants to describe what the Republicans---so far---plan to send to the voters in November: "They're sending us their felons!" Not sure if the guy can still win, as swing voters might be affected. Also, the Convicted Felon is likely to rant about how he will take down 'the corrupt and rigged US system', and that will hurt him with the same swing voters. Perhaps---just perhaps---Republicans will do the right and smart thing and choose someone else as their candidate. Might be their only chance.
  13. The sentencing is the 11th. Perhaps---if, indeed, jail is imposed---he will be given time for a Victory Loser Lap at the Convention. I do hope the jury members are put in some kind of protection program, because the Convicted Felon's cult is both crazy and violent.
  14. The CAPS function is going to be worn out on Truth Social tonight. The Convicted Felon is going to play petulant child all night. Somehow I have the sneaking suspicion one more person is smiling: his 3rd wife.
  15. "Don the Con" To paraphrase from the OJ trial: If the name fits, you cannot acquit.
  16. How ironic that the Republican National Convention is July 15th.
  17. Add it to the resume: Convicted Felon What was his famous chanr back in 2016, based on NO conviction of his then-opponent? Well, now it could be him: Lock Him Up! He is no longer allowed the privilege of voting in the State he chose to reside in, Florida. Neither is he allowed the 2nd Amendment right of gun ownership anywhere. Since it was a State trial, he cannot even pardon himself, nor can an (R) President, should any of the two win in November. It is now up to a judge. the defendant has repeatedly attacked. to award him a sentence, which could be jail. Orange jumpsuit. It was likely the defendant's idea to deny the affairs with Stormy and McDougal. It is likely that lessened any credibility he might have had. Question: Who in this world thinks the defendant's 3rd wife believes he didn't schtupp the two women? In any event, Convicted Felon. Somewhere E Jean Carroll and Stormy are smiling, along with perhaps hundreds of stiffed subcontractors. Schadenfreude..
  18. Since the jury is in the deliberation stage, now is the time for idle speculation. Yesterday the jury sent two notes out to the judge. The first asked for more information and details of the Pecker testimony as well as the ‘catch and kill’ scheme to prevent negative info affecting the defendant’s election chances. That suggests they have moved well past Michael Cohen and how the defense tried to make the case all about Cohen’s credibility. Not good for the defendant. The second note asked the judge to reiterate the jury instructions. The idea of ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ is often misinterpreted as ‘no doubt whatsoever’, when in reality it means what seems absent of doubt to a reasonable extent. For example, I have no reasonable doubt that Elvis is dead, but since I never saw the body and there are still people saying Elvis is in the house, I cannot say 100% Elvis is dead. Of course he is, just like the defendant schtupped Stormy and McDougal and paid to keep it out of the news so as not to affect his chances in the wake of the Access Hollywood tape. Zero 'reasonable doubt', despite their being no horrific video of their trysts...thankfully. I would guess there is currently zero chance of an acquittal, so the only hope the defendant has of not being declared a convicted felon is a hung jury. Incidentally, becoming a convicted felon has consequences. The felon will no longer be able to own a firearm in the US, and if he has any in his country club or anywhere else, he will have to turn them over to law enforcement. Additionally, he will no longer be allowed to vote in the State where he lives, Florida. The maximum sentence, if I read the news correctly, is 4 years in prison. Now there’s a silver lining there for the consummate grifter: he can begin to sell all sorts of merchandise carrying his name and "2028".
  19. The harsh reality is that one needs a marketable skill or talent to benefit from the current world economy. All developed nations are experiencing a bifurcation that is creating lots of Haves and lots of Have Nots. Debt levels will make it increasingly tough to carry the deadwood. With AI coming on at lightspeed pace, it's not going to get any easier. Unskilled labor is being obviated, and technology is moving up the foodchain, soon to be obviating many white collar jobs. Nostalgia is funny, because the last guy spent 4 years lying about 'best economy ever', when it wasn't even close. Growth under Biden has been the best since the late 1990s. Again, one needs a skill to benefit. That leaves out a vast majority of those who favor the R candidate. They live a false hope that their guy actually has a plan to improve things. How? Maybe kick out Dreamers and other recent migrants, which will free up strawberry picking jobs for his voters? He has no clue how to run a business, never mind a $30 trillion economy. The 'billionaire' has to sell a small jet for $10 million to pay his legal bills. It was Biden who actually passed an Infrastructure Bill. It was Biden who got the Chips Act passed. Under Biden the US has seen 27 straight months of UE below 4%, the first time since the 1960s. Remember the last guy came in with 4.8% UE and left Biden 6.8% and an exploding deficit. With AI coming, those suffering now are going to look back on the Biden years as 'the good old days'.
  20. The title puzzled me, no doubt out of personal ignorance on my part. Why would gays need special places to retire? My ignorance might have had me believing that most people and most places are way past the 'homophobia' thing, save for Uganda, Russia and the Middle East. Sadly, I guess that isn't true. Ideally at some point humans will realize gay is no more a choice than one's height. It is just one of a person's many defining traits, deserving of neither praise nor scorn. It simply is. If I may try to add something to the thread, what about Provincetown, MA? Besides being a lovely seaside area, it has long been open and welcoming to the gay and lesbian communities, which may well form the majority there.
  21. Violently attack the US Capitol as his fomenting, beat 140 police officers, defecate on the floor of the building, erect a gallows to hang the VP.....and you're hostages and political prisoners. Avail yourself of the 1st Amendment right of Free Speech and peaceful assembly, and the guy wants to punish you. It's kind of like when he had peaceful protestors gassed and beaten in Lafayette Park, just because he wanted to do a photo op in front of a church holding the Bible upside down. And Biden is "Gestapo"?
  22. Going to have to side with Bob on this. If a venue is in the middle of nowhere, getting trained service staff of distributors to come flush the system is likely difficult. Also, the keg might be aged, and draft does not have a long shelf life. I've sat in restaurants where the taps are visible (and in an open, al fresco area), and crew from the distributor comes with gear to flush out the system. Go to a place regularly, and you can see this flushing of the system seems to be every few weeks, maybe more often. I'm not sure what builds up in the pipes (not being an expert), but I suspect residue can build up, and in the heat of Thailand, that likely leads to something nasty. In a major city like Bangkok or Pattaya, service personnel can hit a dozen customers in a day, servicing each. Out in the middle of nowhere, where there are fewer venues, regular visits are probably less likely. If far from a major city, maybe it's best to order by the bottle (and check the expiration date).
  23. If one suffers a severe concussion, as I assume Mr White did, one is not out of the woods for a few days. There is likely bleeding in the brain and quite possibly some blood vessels have been weakened or damaged by the kick. Someone so concussed could get up and walk away, but suddenly drop dead hours or a day or two later. There was a comment by a major owner of bars on Soi 6 that noted someone of Mr White's description showed up at a morgue a day or so later. Perhaps that is just coincidence that the deceased resembles Mr White, but as facts remain slim on the ground, one cannot rule out the possibility. Of course equally likely it is just a rumor. Concussions are not anything to sneeze at. The NFL in the US puts players who suffer a concussion into a multi-day protocol that involves continuous observation, despite the player being fully alert again.
  24. Yes. If you have a Type II or especially a Type III acromion, you are more prone to shoulder and rotator cuff damage, especially if one has bad form.
