Crystal ball time...I am currently in Ubon..I heard last week immigration office here was empty, is that likely to get a lot more busy by the latter part of next week? The obvious answer is yes, but is it likely to happen?
I'm asking as I need to do a 60 day ext but fancy holding out just incase it gets extended again late Tuesday for example?

Does teatime still have the 7 day playback feature or whatever it was/is??

I cant see how they cannot extend it further, its going to be total chaos if they don't, regardless of what the common consensus is, these guys in the cabinet are actually fairly smart people, unless somehow they just don't discuss the issue on Tuesday, if they do discuss the issue, they will come to the conclusion that the amnesty needs to be extended, and it will be extended.
Appreciate you sticking your neck out, but I'm not so sure. Why would they leave it so late?

Are folk not bored with all this now? I find the whole thing utterly exhausting. I need to do a 60 day ext next week, see how it goes but i'm really not fussed either way.

You must have a very easy stress free life to feel the need to start a thread over something as trivial as this?

I've seen this one come up over the years and the general opinion was no it's not worth it for various reasons..

As said above contact aainsure in Pattaya. They will suggest a French company called April insurance who insure up to the age of 70..about 80k baht a year inpatient only for 500k usd per year cover. No medical required.

Don't tell me he was in Pattaya?
I remember a story from about 4 years ago of another Brit who was a big drug trafficker who had been hiding out in Thailand on some island down near Samui somewhere for quite some time...the police found out his son was going over to visit him from the UK so had him followed from Samui airport straight to his old man's bolthole...wasn't the best idea.

There are lots of individual issues. The major issue being that many do not want to go home to a country where the risk of contracting Covid-19 is higher. If I were over 60 years Old, I’d prefer to risk overstay than that.
I'm certainly not worried about that at all, don't know or know of a single person who has had it.

What really is the cause of all the squabbling, debate and anxiety etc? If you have the means and the 'qualifications' to stay, then stay. If you don't then leave by 27? Isn't it as b&w as that??

God I hate this stinking world.
Madness, hate, racism, nutters all over.
Will be happy to go when my turn arrives.
Anyone did this to my daughter I would cut them in half.
RIP to the poor little angel.

Personally I would get the 60 day extension myself (it's not difficult even if you rent). Sounds like you have not spoken to agent as yet. Thinking they would want more time and the 60 POS in your pp would buy that.
Yes, think you are right Doc. Think it's just me just busy lazy, I really don't like immigration trips, but hearing they also want updated khor ror 2 within last 7 days to prove you are still married. House owners ID card etc..plus other stuff, could be a hassle.
And no, I haven't spoke to an agent yet.

This proposed "new visa" is a complete red herring. Especially with a cap of 1200/month. Also people from most countries have zero chance of being able to be approved. Utter nonsense.
Yes, looks a complete nonsense. And apart from possibly back packers who exactly would want this visa? IF it did happen, you would have the people that live here that struggle to get proper visas applying for it?

I have a 60 day ext in the bank still for 'visiting wife' on a 1 yr NON O but hearing that they are asking for a load of info/paperwork now to get your 60 days, either more so if you rent like I do...so now thinking about going straight onto a retirement ext via an agent.
Sensible decision or a waste of 60 days?

No, nothing at all to see or do unless you like temples? and too much traffic anyway, plus it's too hot. Welcome to the dream, lol.

It doesn’t impact me one way or another.
However, unlike you, I don’t like to see people struggling unnecessarily to remain with their families, especially at this time of pandemic where travelling to ones home country entails further risk of contracting covid.
So, I do care. I care that the government of the country I am living can see to ease the burden for foreigners and not continue to make things difficult for I know not when my status here becomes compromised on the whim of some poor decision making by those in positions of decision making power.
And So, I do hope to see the amnesty extended, not for me, but for those who need it.
That said, this time round the announcements have bene unflinching and seem to concentrate not on keeping tourists in country, but getting small numbers of fresh tourists. Those living here with visa complications seem completely forgotten, ignored or just uncared about with a degree of careless indifference.
It also seems that there are a number of posters making statements based on wishful thinking.
It would be foolish of anyone to plan for or rely on an amnesty extension this late in the game.
Such a nice man.

@ronwel > He needs to apply at the IO of the province where HE has his official residence for Immigration purposes. If he is staying at the house of his wife, or is renting a place together with her, that will be both his and her place.
Official residence? I have never had official residence. Sure, they may have an address for me on their pc, but when I have ever gone for this 60 day ext it has ALWAYS been about the wife's status, never about me.

I wasn't sure if because of the amnesty I had to go to MTT as a requirement.
You think too much.

Ok thank you.
She is indeed registered in Pathum Thani and we have done a 60 day extension there before, last year when my previous visa expired (same type). So all should be in order. So why ask the question?

Morning everyone.
Hoping for some help here.
My NON-O multi based on marriage expired in June. To get a 60 day extension can I go to my local Pathum Thani immigration or do I have to go to MTT.
ThanksYou have to go to the immigration at the province where your wife is registered, and she has to go with you.
