Ok. Now I can see the picture clearly.
This is the symbol for an overheated catalytic converter.
If you are getting this warning on a cold start then a failed 02 sensor and/or failed/melted cat are the likely causes.
With a hot engine the likely cause is unburned fuel entering the cat and then burning inside the cat. Do not drive the car until repaired. This fault can be due to overfuelling or misfiring (faulty igNition system, faulty injector etc) causing unburned HC to enter the cat..
If the car won't start it is likely that the cat has melted and blocked the exhaust. You will need a new cat, probably 02 sensor, and then rectify the engine fault that caused the problem.
The car belongs to an elderly guy (84 years old) down the road from me...I would describe it as a ‘heap’.
Him and his wife only use it for shopping every couple of weeks, he is not very well off and I.have suggested in future he gets taxi’s... don’t think that went down too well though. But good advice I think as he had an expensive ‘incipient’ a few years ago and definitely could not afford another.
Another option...if blocked ...is I guess...just to cut it out.
Anyway it’s up to him as we are now up in Kanchanaburi on holiday ... for haven’t decided how long....
Just hope West BK gets some rain to save the garden.
So thanks guys for all you help.

That's a Catalytic Convertor warning light.
Possible oxygen sensor fault. Can probably use search engine for further info.
Thanks ...Will that stop the car starting or shut it down after a very short period

Thanks guys for your help ... but am still no further forword ...guess he will have to get someone to come to the house and sort it ...definitely not the rear window heater as I switched it on ... better photo below.

A guy round the corner tells me his car, quite old, will only run for a short while and then stop. When I looked it wouldn't even start, but it would crank and the battery was OK. I took the attached pic. Can someone tell me what it may mean please. He doesn't seem to have the handbook.

I must tell my wife to wear her knickers more often...Sometimes her skirt bellows and really unlucky if you are nearby and arn’t wearing a thick mask.
reply by a person waiting for his wife to get ready to go out, to another bored poster.
I wonder how long before this topic ends up in the pub or even down the drain

My wife has the Booking.com account. She always phones direct to compare the prices.
I doubt the special promotion for us will be cheaper......

I have now done 17 consecutive monthly transfers from the UK to my Bangkok Bank account and everyone has been shown as FTT in my bank book.

I used the Immigration app yesterday, did it in the afternoon, and 90 day came back approved just before 8 AM this morning.
Downloaded it on my phone, email to myself and printed it. There is probably an easier way but I don’t know how.
Not as quick as a previous time but OK.

I’ve done that Crossing in bad weather. It’s true people do actually go green... For the return journey I didn’t have any breakfast, I was really glad I didn’t...

You need an orbital polisher and the right compound.
You should find that most detailing shops will do that for you...at a price.
I did an old car that we have quite successfully. I borrowed the gear from a friend.

I've always understood that the hotels agreement with Agoda or whoever says that thay must not match or undercut the Agoda rate hence their reluctance to do so as they probably get many times more bookings through booking sites than directly.
Well I have got better rates at times, have even had hotel say book direct next time please...also some get around undercutting by 'slightly' changing the offer ... but 5* hotels tend not to even offer to match the rate advertised on booking.com etc.

Insulator washing is not new. Very common in UK Substations more than 40 years ago and that was on 275kV/400kV lines. But we always tested the purity of the water in the Insulator Wash Tank first!
On one occasion there was a leak in the underground wash pipework and dirty water entered ... flashover .. tripped the associated 660MW generator.

Yes, who can really answer this question. When we came here to retire bought a house and a car that’s 13 million gone.
Of course it depends how you want to live, if you don’t have quite a good index linked pension you could be in trouble.
When we came the exchange rate was 72 to the pound, Now look at it!!
No one knows what it will be in three or four years never mind 30!!

When I did my last annual extension, based on pension, on the bank print out I underlined all FTT‘s. Thought it would help the IO...

Sorry, youre clearly a Pro at this stuff and im a 21 handicapper!
By dead i mean it wont even open the doors so my son cant get in it to start it
In fact, i wonder how much power is required to open the remote control centrally locked doors versus starting it(probably way less, but one should never assume)
It may have SOME charge in there
Sounds like you agree i should just replace battery next May
the only side question is whether i disconnect it now....hmmmm, i might call my guy in Uk about that
Thanks Pro!????
Just get your CTEK 5.0 and put it on the battery. If it’s a wet battery make sure the top of the cells are covered.
Be careful how you set the mode. I don’t expect you have an AGM so don’t set it to AGM. Just set it to normal car mode, and NOT recon.
if it comes up in a couple of days or so then you are fine if not take the charger off.

That made me laugh out loud. You should have gone for believable there.
As for your 58%. Pretty sure you mean the minimum 54% local manufacture to be qualified as locally made ala Toyota, Honda etc.
Anyway - the idea that someone put the door on wrong on a BMW/Benz, that it then got past QC and the dealer never spotted it - absolutely hilarious. If only they all had your eye for a closed door.
Spot any issues with this one?
Someone nicked two of it’s doors...

My wife was giving some today by two of her friends. Apparently they were taught how to make it when they went to a seminar.
They take it to help them sleep. She doesn’t sleep well she said that she will try it.
They take between three and 10 drops of the stuff. My wife is thinking of going to the next seminar which is in about three weeks time.
Apparently her brother took it when he was being treated for prostate cancer.

My wife plays as well, and she’s keen to play three times a week, So the tipping can get a little expensive.
As we tend to always play the course where we have membership, I only really need the Caddie to pull the clubs And tell me <deleted> my ball went As if it goes more than about 100 yards then it’s out of view as far as I’m concerned....
