  1. Thai banks are elbow deep in their customers.

    - Charged to withdraw in another province (even at your own bank's ATM)

    - Charged to withdraw from different bank's ATM

    - Charged to get an ATM card

    - Charged every year for having the ATM card (you already bought)

Jeez, isn't it enough we give them our money to loan out at 10% for almost nothing in return??

Single is so much better, do what you want, when you want, see different women, see friends. Guys lose all power once married and the wife has money

    Exactly.

    I never look back.

    Bliss.

  3. So, in the OP's title it is asking about legality.

Of course, we have a bunch of barstool lawyers here, not to mention the usual high n mighty Thai apologists condemning the farang.

    The usual suspects.

But do we actually have an answer to this question?

Is it LEGAL for the owner to take a deposit without a written agreement? And then keep his money like that?

If it was determined by the legal system that he had been wrongfully imprisoned, then his sentence would have been vacated. Instead, he was sent to a halfway house.

    Would, or could?

Didn't realize you were a lawyer, lol.

Who needs to pass the bar these days? I reckon the average member here thinks he's an expert in law, among other things. ????

The police were greatly outnumbered. Had they tried to make arrests, it's unlikely that would have ended well for them.  We have already seen what violence the rioters were capable of when they stormed the Capitol The police were making the best of a bad situation.

Outnumbered?  Look how many officers were next to him.

Not only did all these officers allow this guy to walk past them, they were unlocking doors for him to allow access and escorting him around.

He got 4 years in jail, which is a lot for trespassing -- especially police-assisted trespassing (if there even is such a thing, ????) ????

I'm struggling to contain my laughter at your whitewashing.

Don't you think the left media did the whitewashing by only showing the few people that day who rioted rather than showing the whole event?

And why didn't they show the footage of Capitol Police assisting them in a guided tour inside, opening locked doors to allow them in to various chambers, particularly the guy who got 4 years jail?

Unbelievable!  You think that if a person is not constantly breaking the law that makes him a good guy?  The majority who did nothing wrong have not been arrested.  Some of the hundreds who did break the law are being held to account.  https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/doj-says-video-of-qanon-shaman-fox-aired-lacks-context/ar-AA18zQbD

Going back to my bank robbery analogy, what matters is video of the crime, not videos of routine activities.

We can't just throw people in jail cos we think they aren't "good guys"

What did that guy get jail for?

The newly surfaced footage proves he did nothing wrong.

They didn't have to unlock doors to provide them access to various chambers inside.

You can't use the word "stormed" when you get Capitol police giving you a guided tour, lol
