I'm in London now have been for 2 years due to work . I know many that have had their AZ vacs including my 80 year old mum. No side effects at all. My 2nd jab booked this Saturday.
I am in London also, but only working until the p**cks in Thailand allow me to go back without the stupid Quarantine.

If I am being cynical so beit, but over 70 million doses administered in the U.K. and I have no doubt there has been some collateral damage but a huge success.
Keep taking the medicine ????????????, I have had my 2 doses (thank you)

So! Not 7 day's before you can travel to other provinces even though you have had a full 2 dose of vaccine, it's 14 days, Tourists may as well stay in Bangkok!
Now having said that, what springs to mind about the future of tourists coming to Thailand is a song which starts something like,
So-Long
Fair Well
Auf-Wiedersehen
Goodbye, and so-on.

I would just like to add my two peneth! sorry if it's already been said as I haven't yet read all the posts, no need to threaten the Buriram population just offer 500bht for each vaccine taken, they will que from Buriram to Rongklua market, it will not matter what company makes the vaccine and it will save thousands of bht keeping people fed and watered in jail.
Simple just 2 bottles of Sangsom.

I am sure that most if not all are familiar with the phrase "Thai-Time", well here it is again, vaccines will start to be administered in June-ish, and there you have it "Thai-Time" ????

I don't want to say I told you so, but I told you so!
I posted about 10 days ago that following the increase in Covid cases would follow a growth in death, that is the pattern.
"This is the way"
( Uncle Ping, When are those vaccines coming???) 50% protection is better than nothing. (SinoVac)

A little off topic but I see on Skyscanner.net yesterday return flights to Swampy from London with KLM/Air France £255, ???????????? Now that's a good price!!!

Let's see if India reciprocates later this month when all the cases in Thailand over the last couple of weeks turn into hospitalisations or maybe even worse.
Maybe uncle Xie from up the road can send some magic.

That is not necessarily true.
Singapore had a hard time with a very heavy case load for many weeks, and yet very few fatalities.
It all depends on who is infected, elderlies and retirees, as in Europe, or young and healthy workers, as in East Asia.
To be fair Thailand is not Singapore, and the facilities in Singapore far out way anything Thailand has to offer and I was stating just rule of thumb.

Well I am sorry to have to remind everyone, but about 2 weeks after the infections the death tolls start rising.
The U.K. for all the ridicule on here and throughout the world for it's slow response to the pandemic is still pumping out in excess of 1/2 a million vaccines a day, the death toll is down dramatically and yesterday was 40 in total with some 2.5 thousand new infections and we are slowly coming out of lockdown.
The population of the U.K. an Thailand are similar so I think a sharp uptick in deaths is around the corner. Not good for the wellbeing of the Thai people, or the tourism industry.

Well! Well!, as we have said many times over the past year, in Thailand "No Test, No Have"
My wife was watching the Thai Ch7 new's the other day and it was reported that the hospitals were telling the government to STOP testing people because they were finding to many people had the virus and they had not enough beds.
Personally I can't wait for the foreign travel to start up again, I will have had my 2 jabs by the end of May. He! He! He!

I am currently in the U.K. and planning to come back in mid August, I will have had my second vaccine by end of May, my Thai wife has had her first vac and gets her second in early June, however I don't want to go to Phuket, I would like to go back to my house in Buri Ram without quarantine, anyone think I have a chance. ????????????
Sorry if it's a little off topic!!!

Just to update on U.K. vaccine progress, I am a relatively healthy male just under my mid 60's and am due to have my first vaccine next week and my second is booked for the end of May. My Thai wife is in her 40's and we are expecting her first jab by the end of March followed by her second some 12 weeks later.
We both have stated that we will not undertake any sort of quarantine so lets hope we can return to Thailand in August as planned.
Vaccine rollout is moving on nicely, Thank you, so let's hope the clowns in charge get their ducks in a row quickly and lift the stupid restrictions. ????????????

Astra Zeneca has been produced to be non profit and this is known throughout the world, however the Thai Generals wont want that. Brown envelopes and sticky fingers.
????????????

If S.C. is correct about Astra Zeneca having a production unit in Thailand why have the Thai Idiots incharge ordered 2 mil doses from their friends next door, you know the ones who gave the VIRUS freely to the Free World.
Cutting off your nose to spite your face springs to mind.

I really don't understand why we all get excited, this is not news worthy, it's a daily occurrence. So as I have said many times NO NEWS HERE!!!! ????
-
Have said it before and I will say it again, " Quarantine = No Tourists "
I am like most on here a tourist but with a Thai wife and child, I have a house in Thailand and have been trying to get back for my wife to visit her elderly parents since the virus took hold, however we both agree that we will not quarantine. So the sooner we can get the vaccine the sooner we should be able to return. ( HOPEFULLY )

The real reason they have banned E-cigs is the Gov don't know how to tax them and they make a lot of revenue from conventional cigarettes.
So just more B.S. from this Junta.

As a Dirty Virus carrying Brit ( Farang ) waiting to return I can see the Welcome sign at the airport, " Nice to see you, To see you nice, BTW did you bring a suitcase full of vaccine for us. The Thai gov are To**ers.
As an afterthought, what happened to the Thai vaccine that the Thai gov said was being developed and would be available for all Thai people soon. Maybe they ran out of Monkeys before they realised it was no good.
Lies, Lies and more Lies!!!!!!

Anutin added that Thailand has been strictly following WHO’s Guidance
Now! you can call me a sceptic if you wish, but was it not the President of W.H.O. that said the way to control the virus was to, TEST, TEST and TEST again, so Thailand have been secretly testing people for the virus since the start of the pandemic. ( No TEST No HAVE )

1 Million is a big number, 8 million is unrealistic, IMO Thailand will be lucky to hit the 2 million mark in 2021 and that is if they lift the stupid ridiculous entry requirements.
Good Luck!!!!

Can I put this in simple lay mans terms, 14,10 or even 1 day of quarantine means no International Tourists.
At the moment Europe is virtually shutdown and all but essential travel is not allowed, however when it is, the first sentence above applies. Just get your heads out from where the sun does not shine and set a date for all travellers to be welcomed back and, open up all the boarders, it goes without saying this must include the DIRTY Virus carrying Farangs. You will then see a very slow recovery of the tourist industry which is going to take years to get anywhere near where it was before, but it will allow people who have invested over the years to return to their homes and family's.
That's my Sunday rant!!!!!

Thailand targets 3 million foreign tourists this year under phased reopening
in Thailand News
Posted
BANGKOK (Reuters) - Tourism-reliant Thailand expects about three million foreign tourist arrivals this year.
I am probably wrong or I may have misinterpreted the Thai governments value of the tourist dollar to be about 10 or 11% of GDP. If that's the case why are they so tourism reliant???? ???? ???? ????
