Couple years ago an online 90-day Non O from Thai Embassy in home country wanted to see your local bank statement with 800,000 Thai baht equivalent among the 7-9 other questions, then you'll have 60-70 days or so plenty of time to open a Thai Bank account and get the 800k over for your extension. You may though need 90 day health insurance for the application as well if you can find 90 day insurance. We are not as fortunate as the Russians...........

From what I heard from a fella who knows a female cop quite well, there's going to be a big 'swoop check' of Russians living in the Rawai and Chalong areas due more frequent complaints etc, maybe more will have to leave at some point soon..........

Well if they are going after exempt and tourist visa overstayers ( assume ) at Domestic airport checks, maybe it's a start to expand the search - 1st World style..... Agreed, an IO surely does not want to see you alone with all your paper work in order - hand drawn map from your place to where you are sitting, photo in front of your house number, seasoned 800k, etc.... for annual extensions for 1900 baht.......

Yes agree, used my Thai DL checking in to a hotel in another province over the new year, no issues getting my 90 day online report approved today..........no hotel input

Sounds promising, is there a way to find all the long stayers that are under 50 and do the 'Lawful' thing there as well ?

It's quite probable if thats the plan it should be as smooth and consistent as the 90 day online reporting.........

Rest easy, they will not be able to handle the workload.........

Go for a quick or long trip outside the country every 175 days and carry on with your occasional transfers from abroad..........

I do not think Savannakhet Lao issues 1 year Non O ME visas. You can a 90 Day Non O from the Thai embassy there. Check their website.....

Yeah thats ridiculous, don't think the 90 day Russian freebee requires health insurance. In my case I arrived on an OA during Covid times, left and returned with a Non O using existing OA insurance for the Non O application. Just align your health insurance start date as close as you can on your OA extensions........ all good !

You could also apply for a 90 day Non O state side instead. Gives you 90 days to get organized if you do not have a Thai bank account yet for extensions on the Non O. If arriving with an O-A visa, all of your future extensions based on the OA will require valid health insurance, you will be given an extension of stay stamp to the expiry date of your current health insurance, so its quite possible you will not get 1 year if you do not align your health insurance start date near the same time as your immigration extension visit....

I've been told by an IO that even if you have done a TM30 previously and have not changed where you normally live, visiting a hotel anytime or prior to returning from abroad to your registered address can disrupt your details in their system making 90 day online reporting unsuccessful etc. I don't understand how this happens when you've done the TM30 process and have the paper in your passport to prove it......

I don't have a flat in home country, keeping my truck there however for transportation when visiting. It was sitting in a 'buddies' yard for a year and to make a long story short - no longer a buddy, now paying vehicle storage monthly, hopefully my sister can make a 19' spot for it at her place soon. Headaches owning anything abroad, maybe next trip back sell the damn thing !!!
